I want you to know how MUCH I appreciate your instructions for crocheting! I'm 63 years old (almost 64) and I have always wanted to learn to crochet. I've tried to follow videos but they're usually too fast or unclear. I don't learn very fast, never have. Your videos are so incredibly clear and helpful. I cried last night when I was watching your video on making the Lost Souls blanket. I CAN DO THIS!!! :) Seeing exactly where the stitches need to go, what the stitches are called and everything that you show I'm going to be a crocheting maniac now!!! :) :) :) I will be watching and following along with your videos from now on. You are AWESOME!!!!! Sorry to go on like this but my mom used to crochet, and I always wanted to learn but she would go so fast and talk so fast in giving instructions I couldn't keep up, I just gave up. I haven't understood written directions either, and your instructions just made me so HAPPY!!!! THANK YOU!!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!!
Fiber Spider has the best tutorials in my opinion to follow along with and you can stop and start or slow the video if needed. I am 58 and got into crocheting about 9 years ago and just love it. His videos are easy for me to follow, even though I am a lefty haha
I know this video has been up for a couple years, but I just now found it. The pattern you give the link for is no longer available. I don't know if anyone will see this comment, but if someone does...can you tell me where I can find a similar pattern that will work?
I have been waiting anxiously for a video on this! When it popped up that you posted a tutorial I immediately went to it. You are such an awesome teacher! I have been so successful with my crocheting due to YOU! Thank you so very much for all that you do!
You are an amazing teacher, I love your channel. I stopped crocheting because I was in a slump, My workmate posted this blanket and asked if anyone could make this for her, I picked up my hook after finding your tutorial and I think this is going to be the catalyst to crafting again thank you so much I love your tutorials and your voice is soothing and your humour is fantastic xx
You are fantastic at instructing. I realize I’m a couple years late responding, but your pace is perfect. You go the exact speed I need to keep up, and while I’m grateful you don’t go through with crocheting the 3rd and 4th side, you still point to and count out the stitches required to finish the square. Breaking time stamps by row is helpful too. It’s been working out perfect for my instruction needs. I’m pretty new on UA-cam. You’re my second follow, but your my first place teach. You’re fun to listen to as well. ✌️Patti W
Some years ago, my niece posted on Facebook a picture of the lost souls shawl and said she wanted it for a baby blanket. Her mom said she wasn't doing it for a baby and she said "Aunt Tami will if I ask her". I confirmed this and she just told us Wednesday that she is expecting so I have until February. Thank you for posting this pattern. I have done many of your patterns for gifts and whenever someone on any of my crochet pages asks for patterns for beginners, I have three people I suggest and you are one of them. Your explanations are always clear, detailed, and easy to follow. I'm planning on doing it in a charcoal ombre since I we don't yet know gender.
I started with the basic shawl pattern, thinking I could make all the necessary adjustments, to make it flat, but after I got through Row 15, I discovered you'd already done all the hard math work for me. I'm not only impressed, I'm subscribing. And I'm absolutely thrilled, because now I can make that Lost Souls snood I really want, in orange because it matches my hair. I'm working with size 10 thread and a size 5 hook. Now all I have to do is figure out how to make the square into a circle.
Ok, so I made 4 of these, following your exact steps but with ice yarn, the Picasso one. Attached them into one giant square from the outside in, leaving 25 stitches (including chains) unattached between each square right in the center. attached those loose middle corners of the squares with 2 slip stitch straps and made a flowy, tunic style tank top. 🥰🥰🥰 Thank you so much for your inspiration, and thanks to Maryetta for her original work, too!
I can’t thank you enough! My granny taught me how to “double crochet” when I was 12. Until we were quarantined all I could do was some wobbly scarves and MAYBE a small crooked blanket! Lol. Patterns have NEVER made sense since I am SUCH a visual learner. Your Chanel is my new favorite!! You make everything feel VERY doable! You make sure we can SEE the stitches and you explain and count very clearly! I feel like anyone from beginner to expert can learn from you! THANK YOU for giving me the confidence I needed to make something of this caliber!! I can not WAIT to make something for my granny!! Xoxoxox
The way I SCREAMED when I saw this video recommended, oh my GOSH the stars have aligned!! I have so much white yarn I didnt know what to do with, Im so excited to start this!!
Oh, I’m so glad I found this! My grown girls are so into Sugar Skulls! Now I have to make them each one! Thank you so much for making this into a blanket! I even have the yarn already! TY TY TY! 💚💚💚
I was following along with these tutorials and fell asleep . Woke up thinking it was the next day . To explain I have trouble sleeping more than a few minutes at a time . But when I watch your tutorials or listen to you read the fabels I always fall asleep . Your voice is so soothing to listen to . So a great big caffeinated hug goes out to you for your tutorials and for helping this tired old woman sleep for 5 to 6 hours at once .
This is the first of your tutorials I've watched. Thank you for your time putting time stamps and giving options for this pattern. I applaud your work. It's been very helpful and I'm looking forward to watching more of your tutorials and following along.
So thrilled you created this! I was about to make 2 shawls and connect them, then regret the jankiness that would have been the solid diagonal center forever. You are my yarn hero. Thank you!
I hope I can make this. Love the huge square. I have a hard time remembering what's next. But it's almost like u understand all of us. U are truly awesome.
I respect those who give credit where credit is due, *toasts* It's such a beautiful pattern, just need the proper yarn to work with. I did a few practice pieces and it's a tricky one. Thank you for being you Mr. Spider, and of course, your patience.

I can't follow written crochet patterns but thanks to you and your fabulous videos, I have been able to make several crochet items. Thank you. I first spotted this skull pattern when you made the lost souls shawl, but I wasn't able to complete it because I couldn't follow the written pattern. So I hope you are going to make a series of videos that show how to make the complete Lost Souls blanket. Looking forward to starting.
Thank you for this, I wanted to make a skull scarf with the scull's all in a row and could not find one. This will be helpful. thanks for all you do, have a great day.
