I saved this tutorial ages ago, but just FINALLY found a yarn I love for my first Lost Souls shawl. I saw a woman at our local Pride Festival who had made herself a rainbow Lost Souls Shawl using Red Heart Super Saver, but I'm not a fan of RHSS for garments. I LOVED the idea of the rainbow look, though, so I'm making mine with rainbow gradient Mandala cakes 💗

I'm having so much fun crocheting along with you. I love that not only is it instructional, but I can HEAR how much you're enjoying making the patterns with your little giggles as we crochet along. It truly makes it feel like I'm having a little crochet party with a friend. 💕

Sorry for the cheesy comment but that is actually exactly what I have been thinking all day while I´ve been browsing your tutorials. As a newbie in the field of crocheting I find them to be a complete goldmine, the time you take to explain, and how thorough you are, and your enthusiasm, it makes all the difference. Thank you for making these tutorials and I do mean that from the bottom of my heart. I am very happy to have found your channel, :-)

Thank you so much, I am terrible at reading patterns in flat work because I started crochet as a toy maker. I would have never even attempted this pattern without your videos and I just finished my first yesterday and started a second today! I wrote out everything, including your tips, so I knew just where each face part was what row and which one closed the center and which one created the increase. I only had to frog a couple of rows twice, due to my own fault, so I call it a success. Isn't it so funny how what you are used to sticks with you? I did terribly on the chain start. It tightened up and I couldn't close it. I could fix it easily enough when I weave in the end. But today I decided to try magic ring style with a double shell in my ring and voila! Perfect! Lol

I love this tutorial, it's like we're having a conversation. That first hdc came up and I was cursing at the loops, and you just went "it's a little tricky but don't worry, it's not a race, you can do it!"
Same with the double shell in the increase row. I went "all of that in ONE hole??" and as if you heard me, you said "it may seem a little tight but it will all work out" 😂❤

I just wanted to say that I have looked through so many "lost souls" patterns and didn't like them for one reason or another. I ran across yours by accident looking for something different and had to subscribe. I was able to follow your tutorial closely with you and your speaking voice and pace made it very easy for me to understand and see where your stitches were going. Thank you.

I have made several of these Lost Souls Shawls following another You Tube Tutor. Have to say yours is clearer so far. O and by the way for those who may not know El dia de los muertos is a tradional ancient Mexican celebration going back to pre Colombian times. In the Catholic Church Nov the 2 is the day we honor those who've gone on before us,el dia de los muertos. We honor their memory by building alters to their memory going to the cemetery and cleaning up the graves, amongst many other activities.
. It is a mix of the Aztec and Spanish cultures. I and my daughters wear our shawls from Cct 31 ( All Hallows Eve) thru Nov 1st (All Saints Day) to Nov 2nd (All Souls Day) in remembrance of our loved ones who have gone to the other side... but you can wear it anytime you like. Its lovley isnt it?

I was down last fall till now ,going through cancer treatments. I wasn't even interested in crocheting. But Now I am motivated to try this one. Yeah. I read one comment about rainbow color one, I was glad to read that one cause I love rainbows. And variegated yarns. Love this pattern has the edging worked as you go. You, dear sir, are my absolute favorite. All of your tutorials are generously suited for the beginner to advanced hobbyist. You do beautiful work and I look forward to every new thing you put out here. Thank you so much for allowing us to journey with you. I think the only thing I haven't done now is the Rustic Windows that I just now saw. :) Please don't stop your adventures in hook and needle.

So I love dressing in prairie dresses and old fashioned lace and shawls… but gosh darn it I love gothic horror and need a pinch of spooky once in a while. I love this, thank you!

I downloaded the exact pattern before coming on UA-cam to look for a video. The written pattern was difficult for me to keep up with but your video is heaven sent !! Thank you !!

Has anyone told you how awesome you are? You make crocheting easy and actually by giving the pattern site the pattern can be followed (thus teaching those that cannot read a pattern to be able too)so a big thank you. I'm actually converting this pattern to an end table cover, which is a triangle, so won't be that large.
