      Well, they announced the first one in January, I pre-ordered mine right away, got the delivery only in March. I guess a lot of people were just desperate to get one isolated power supply that isn't expensive. You can do the same way, order it now and wait for a couple of months until you get yours.

      @leothemetal  6 років тому

      Maybe I'll have to copy and paste my comments once in a while, or I'll make another episode because of multiple questions :)
      Well, short answer-yes, this one is totally worth of buying, long answer-it depends on what you want.
      If you have a lot of power-hungry devices, and some of those need 12 or 18 volts, then this is the right one for you. If you have power-hungry devices, but all of them require 9 volts only....well, I guess that powerplant ISO 1 will do the job, it is slightly cheaper, and is isolated as well (at least I hope so). I haven't tested the ISO 1 version yet, but you can try out if it is noisy, then you can still send it back, Thomann has a nice return policy. If you have less than 5 devices and all of them require 9 volts and less than 120 mA each, you can grab powerplant junior, it's only 33 euro, and has isolated outputs as well.
      But do not bother to buy the original powerplant (the blue one), or powerplant flex, because they are noisy. They are nothing but a daisy chain in a box. If you don't mind the daisy chains, so grab an ordinary power supply and a daisy chain cable, it's half of a prize of original powerplant (the blue one), and works exact the same way, but still, daisy chains are noisy solutions when it comes to power the pedalboard.
      Hope this helps you.

      Well....I have to put some threshold. My channel is demonetized, making this kind of videos takes a lot of time, besides I have to buy the power supply to make a review. That means - I have to spend money without making them. In case with Iso 2 I actually needed it, so this video is sort of nice addition to the power supply. If you want to speed up the process, well, you can support my channel in many ways. Like subscribing to my channel, or sharing my videos on social media, especially the music videos, so I can grow my channel. Or you can send me a couple of bucks via Patreon. All of that is a huge help for me.
      Otherwise, you can check ISO 1 for yourself. If you don't like it, thomann has a great return policy, so you don't risk anything.

    Great video!!! Thank you. I am totally new in the pedalworld. Question: What with the 9.6V pedals (Electroharmonix - POG2, Green Russian Muff). Is the sound not optimal with the 9V outputs?
    Looking forward for an answer. Peace!

    • @leothemetal
      @leothemetal  2 роки тому

      I have no idea, how it workes. You mean-this is really devices that requier 9,6 volts? That's werid. Are those devices analog and made in Russia? Well, what I know about russian engineering, their devices can handle some tollerance. If polarity is correct, those devices require less than 300 mA, than it will work and that 0,6 Volts will not make a huge impact. Or it might cause some tonal changes or even some noise issues, I don't know, never tried those devices. Lower voltage doesn't damage them, thats for sure, wrong polarity might.
      Well, do you have any 9 volt power supplies at home? From any other devices? You might try to power your EH devices to see how it workes. Than you can decide whether to buy HB or not
      Hope this helps you

I share my experience with gear that I'm buying for myself. I am not some youtube blogger who makes a living with his channel. If I buy the ISO 1, I'll spend 50 euro. There is no profit for me at all. And I haven't mentioned that making one single episode takes at least 3 days, so I can't do anything else while making videos. So, setting a threshold of 20 000 views isn't this unrealistic. I've already made 10 percent of the threshold. Unrealistic thing is waiting for some profit from my youtube channel.

      @@leothemetal Many people claimed it wouldn't fit below the Spaceship 50M. But then I found a more recent English comment in the Thomann reviews that it now comes with extendable feet. So, maybe that wasn't the case a couple of years ago? Does your Spaceship has extendable feet and is the PSU definitely not touching the ground? Older comments said it would rest on the ground. So, maybe they improved the product more recently to solve this issue? What's your experience? I'd like to purchase that combination.

    Im having issues with my distortion pedal every time I turn it on, it has this so called 60hz noise that disappears whenever I hold my guitar metal parts, and also my pedal part. Is that a psu issue? (Im using this iso2 btw)l

    • @leothemetal
      @leothemetal  3 роки тому +2

      Let me assume that you are probably a beginner in guitar world. That's nothing wrong with that, we all started somewhere.
      Every guitar has background noise unless you put your hand on the strings, that's why a ground wire is attached to the strings as well. Distortion is basically a preamp, that makes guitar signal extreme hot up to the clipping. Of course it amplifies the background noise as well, so it gets more obvious with distortion.
      I was at Joe Satrians's live show, where he made sort of guitar battle with Mike Kenelley. Gues what they did to get rid of background noise. Afret each guitar player played his phrase they just turned their volume knob all the way down, and when they played again they turned it all the way up. I personally would mute strings with my hand, it's too much work to turn the volume knob all the way down and up every 5 seconds during guitar battle part.
      The point is-there is nothing wrong with your gear, from that point you have to learn how to use it. And how to deal with background noise. Hope this helps you and best luck with your guitar.

      leothemetal thnanks for the thorough explanation. Appreciated all the details. I did fixed it just now, the problem was in the other psu, 1 HBPP and the other 1 is caline psu non iso. I did removed the caline from the system. I thought in the first place that combining this psu is ok thus I have more than 8 pedals. Now the annoying noise is gone. I’m a believer now, this psu HB ISO2 is isolated. Saved 200% money from the leading psu. Thanks again.

    I bought one of these along with a Spaceship 60 because even with shipping it seemed like such a great deal compared to a Pedaltrain Novo 24 and a 1 Spot isolated power supply. Being an idiot, I didn't consider the fact that it would come with a German power adapter instead of a US one. It'll cost more more to return it than I paid for it, so I guess I'm stuck with it unless someone can suggest a good quality 120v US spec wall wart?

    • @leothemetal
      @leothemetal  4 роки тому +1

      Well, if Thomann ships to the USA it should consider to put the right power supply. Howewer the German power adapter can work with 120 V as well, it just might not fit the American socket. Maybe you can buy an adapter from US to German outlet, or buy some main power adapter that delivers 12 V DC with 2 A.
