    I woke up in the middle of the night and watched this video, went into the powder room, did the left roll, did the right roll, litle spray, little smoothing, perfect! Easy peasy lemon squeezy. Here I am at 0400 hrs MDT (UTC -7) with my perfect victory rolls, knowing that I'm just gonna go back to bed!! Ugh! Thanks for a great video!
    EDIT: Putting my thumbs into the curl, I just cranked my teased hair into this perfect roll. For me, that was The trick.

      That so lovely of you to say. I love the rockabilly and pinup looks (and I do wear them sometimes) but there’s something so elegant and classy about the era that I think these styles miss. I try to recreate that 😊

    I love your victory 🍥...can you tell me where to get a teasing brush like that? And is it harder to do your hair like that if it's really long (like past bra strap)?

    Although great job, it would've added a stronger 40s look had you curled the back of your hair under and the rear sides diagonally curled under too.

      Thanks for sharing. I have found there are so many theories on this hairstyle and it’s often used very generally for anything including voluminous rolls. Lauren Rennelles did a wonderful blog post full of research on it. Have you read it? www.vintagehairstyling.com/bobbypinblog/2022/03/history-of-the-victory-roll-hairstyles.html

    How do you detangle your after teasing that’s my biggest fear

    • @MissBeeTownsend
      @MissBeeTownsend  4 місяці тому

      I have very fine slippery strands of hair so the tease comes out very easily for me. But try applying mousse if brushing it out dry, or wait until you put in conditioner in the shower and then use a wide-tooth comb to brush it out whilst the conditioner is still in your hair♥️ Also the technique of teasing is important: you’re bunching the hair towards the root and securing it there with hairspray, not creating a bunch of knotted tangles.

    I've watched a few of your videos in the last couple of days. You explain things well, I have picked up some good tips. One suggestion: it would be helpful if you made the top of your head visible throughout videos about hairstyles and scarf turbans, etc. Also, be aware your imitation of certain accents could be considered offensive. I'm sure you didn't intend any offense, which is why I'm pointing it out. Thanks!

    • @MissBeeTownsend
      @MissBeeTownsend  6 років тому

      Hi! Thanks for your feedback 😁 May I ask which hair and scarf tutorials you are referring to? Because I'm pretty sure the top of my head/hands are always visible. Did you mean they're chopped off by the camera? I'm not taking offense I'm just not sure what you mean and if it's helpful I'll fix it xxx

    Sometimes i think that these vintage require women to have A LOT of hair

    • @MissBeeTownsend
      @MissBeeTownsend  4 роки тому +1

      It's just a style from a certain era. Women had all hair types - just like today. I think, though, that a lot of the vintage influencers doing hair styles online do have thick hair OR a lot of fine hair (like me). Other hair types are underrepresented in the community for sure. However the volume can be created by teasing 😊 You may need more or less teasing depending on the thickness of your hair. I hope that helps x
