yay! 40s is my fav decade! The dollhouse is stunning...luv the wardrobe...amazing that u have never dyed ur hair...usually brunettes go grey fairly fast. I have never dyed my hair either. Got my 1st grey hair when I was 19. I just yank them out. Only brunette that I knew that didn't go gray fairly fast was my childhood principal's wife & she attributed it to being part Native American. She finally went mostly grey in her 60s
This really made me appreciate the natural volume of my thick hair! I thought it was a lot of work to take care of, but this makes me realize how much work it also saves me! Great job with this style and the detailed explanations, by the way!
I thought the videos would get too long if I put the setting patterns in too. But I will be doing a video in this series about setting patterns so that you can look at a hairstyle and work out how you should set it. Hopefully it's useful :) But there are setting patterns you can use to achieve a similar look on Glamour Daze xx
@@MissBeeTownsend I honestly wouldnt mind watching a 2hr video on that! Awesome work and so in depth, you explain it so well and now I actually feel confident enough to finally try this look on myself!
I appreciate a tutorial for longer hair! My hair is even longer but I reckon it will work pretty well-certainly better than all those tutorials for shoulder-length or just below shoulder-length hair! (Useless.) I think the approach one has to go for is a Lana Turner. Which isn't a bad inspirations... My only complaint about 40's hair is the amount of work that went into it! Not the wash and air dry I do, exactly! I don't even use a hair dryer; not on hair this long, no way. Some detangler, a wide-tooth comb, a couple of products (shine, frizz), and boom! I've even discovered by accident that my thick, wavy hair looks best (for when I have sth 'important' the next day) if I go to bed with it wet! _How_ great is that?! 😄 But I want to do this as I love 40's vintage fashion. I guess I'm gonna have to invest in some curlers. And a brush.
This is amazing. I've never had the guts to tangle my hair up this much, I'm afraid I'll never be able to comb it out. It's so beautiful though, I want to try. 😮
MissBeeTown I’m doing my hair like this for a 40s themed day at my school and i wanted to say thanks cause no other videos helped me out as much as you did, and your makeup video helped me to!❤️
I've been dying to find a tutorial like this for longer hair! This is so useful but have you done a video on the setting pattern at all? Or is there a link to it somewhere? I'd seriously appreciate it cause everything I seem to try on my hair just does not work out smh
Can you do a makeup tutorial for this look please? 😍 Love to watch your videos, you're so calm and it's very easy to listen and get what you're doing! ❤
Great tutorial. Your hair looked beautiful. My hair is very similar in style and length. Your tips and tricks will help me achieve this look which I have been wanting. Thankyou!
Another super helpful and entertaining tutorial~! I don't know why I didn't think of putting a duckbill clip to hold the front section while I sculpt the curls, I put a Marcel wave after applying holding spray but it moves so easily that the indent can get lost quickly.
Thank you. I actually learnt it watching Dita Von Teese herself doing a tutorial I found on UA-cam! The wave tutorial will be coming soon, and there'll be more tips on keeping everything in place - I think waving is the hardest technique to master! I'd love to see a pic of your hair do :)
Thank you! Both teasing and the front S wave are next on my list of vintagey skills to master. I think my hair type is quite similar to yours and so far teasing just falls out for me. But I’ll try copying your technique and see what happens...
I searched high and low for a good Vegan pomade when I first started getting interested in Vintage hairstyles... it was a frustrating search! which one/s do you use. What’re the best you’ve found so far? Thank you! 😁👌🏻
Fellow vintage vegan here, I use the Giovanni Eco Chic pomade! They also make a volumizing shampoo that smells DEVINE (tangerine I believe) and a great protein treatment, I love every product from them I've tried. It's a great eco-friendly CF + vegan line that is also affordable!
For this, everything under in the direction of the final brush out. So to the left and right of the part, and the crown, and back rolling down and back.
Love this, thank you 😊 I've got long, very fine hair and I struggle to get and keep curls with volume in vintage hairstyles. Will definitely be trying this 😉 though would love to know what hairspray you use? I'm trying to find one that is good for hold and styling while not being ridiculously expensive 😱 lol x
This one is expensive. It is by a company called Ouai. But I also like DeLorenzo products (Aussie brand), and Paul Mitchell. All cruelty-free, and you get a massive can of hairspray for your money.
What a detailed and comprehensive tutorial, love it ! I always struggle with my front volume, never thought of putting in a duck-clip to create and set the height. I will try this ASAP. Lovely outfit too, may I know where did you get it from ? Bises x
This looks just amazing. I will try to achieve this look. Thank you so much for this tutorial! ❤️ did you do your curls with a curling iron or were those also pin curls?
I really don't understand which kind of haircut you have...do you have layers ? I suppose the trick to create this look starts from the haircut...can you be so kind to give me your feedbacks about it?
Hey! Yes the haircut makes a huge difference! Layers and a u-shape are a good start but I have a whole video on vintage cuts and what kind to get. It's all in the vintage tips and tricks playlist xx
My dear, you were born in the wrong era, period. You are just 😍😍😍, lovely, nuff said. Oh! Do you ever recall the transition of FF hosiery to much lighter RHT in your videos? Because it did not last long and then came the pantyhose.

You really make the best tutorials! So detailed and patient. Always happy to see a new upload! This is so nice - makes me want to grow my hair
That's lovely, thank you. I'm glad they're useful! I always worry they're too long, so I'm glad find the detail a good thing!
love how it turned out! could you do a setting pattern tutorial on this look?

PS. I love the detail (rick-rack? with a bit of sequin?) on your top. I'm going to have to steal that.
I adore this look! Well done! So helpful thanks!

Once you use conditioner it comes right out. Alternatively add some mousse when brushing it out xx
I'm want this hairstyle. Thank you!
i love that random person in the background
He's not random lol! He's my partner!

I'd love to hear how you go! x
i could have used this when i was a longer-haired styling noob… still useful now tho lol
Haha. It's so hard to start vintage styling when you have long hair! Good on you for persisting!
Great video! You have beautiful hair...
ohh Anita Ekberg! Please do the Dolce Vita makeup look that Anita wore! I'm in love with that movie!
I like this idea!
thanks i had trouble teasing my hair i gave up but im gonna try again :D
Good luck!
This is very helpful 😊 love this hairstyle, will be trying it! Xxx
I'd love to see pics! x
MissBeeTown I'll put it on the group when I do 😊 xxx

Oh I just loved this! Best vintage hair video I've ever seen! What setting pattern did you use for this style?
Thank you! I'm doing a video very soon in this series all about how to work out what setting pattern to use by looking at the hairstyle x

Love this! Side note, what lipstick are you wearing? It's perfect! 💕
This looks just amazing. I will try to achieve this look. Thank you so much for this tutorial! ❤️ did you do your curls with a curling iron or were those also pin curls?
Always pincurls from me (or sponge rollers or bendy sticks). I find curls with a curling iron just fall out in a couple of hours.
@@MissBeeTownsend thank you for you answer
wonderfull
What do you ask your hairdresser for when he/she cuts it? Is it all one length?
What kind of brush are you using?
Thank you 🌸🌸
What pomade do you use?
Do you remember where you got your dress from?
It's vintage and was gifted to me by a friend of my mother many years ago 😊

My brother is an expert on teasing. It doesn't do much for anyone's hair though.
this makes me want to cut my hair short. The amount of work here is worrying.
Vintage hair, short or long, takes a lot of time and effort. But the more you practice the faster you get.
