4-drs are not to everyone's taste, but they do make ideal wedding cars, particularly of that era & before. They also would be ideal for TV & movie companies for something set when this car was new. So anyone who doesn't think much to 4-drs, especially of said period think again! They more than have their uses today.
About 10 years back, I built a 410 Super Marauder with a couple twists. The block was a '73 FTE, crank was a '68 428 crank, and the heads were '64 very large valve & port editions I bought from an old school Ford fanatic who was known via a mutual friend. Keith Black pistons, Speed-Pro rings, Edelbrock intake & 750 carb, Comp Cam, & FlowTech headers I had TBC via my cousin...it was a torque machine. Biggest thing I was told to do is to use a Cobra-Jet spec oil filter adapter. It has larger internal passage/orifice sizes. All of it was done for less than $4500 "All-in." Pulled a lot of strings & favors, have a lot of "Car connections." It was & is such a great engine- if you see a '71 F250 in the Pacific Northwest that is a metallic brown under white, has a very good lope to it and an older man driving it...that thing is a bit more quick than you'd think
Almost looks like this version of the Galaxy 500 is the predecessor of the LTD. My grandfather had the early 60's or late 50's version which I remember vividly like it was yesterday.
Hey there, I just came across this vlog and then your channel naturally too. Sorry 'bout that frame... whewweee!!! Looking like 'metal sculpture yard art' is its future...
Pull up on gear selector lever with your left hand turn key with your right hand, a ford issue . I owne several 1969 fords , LTD, Galaxie XL GT , Country Squire, all the same. Nice Galaxie make grand pa proud boy !
matt garage … you gotta put your tranny into “N” in order to get your 390 started..: i have good experience of owning one like that acrually its a 69 galaxie with 390 and you always start the engine at N and once its started you can put it back to P
Fun to watch this car. My parents had one of these when I was young. It was a great car for many years, until the frame broke. If I was you, I'd find one of these, with a good frame, and fix it up. Just my advice.@@mattsgarage6670

Anyone who has reached his age without having learned the benefits of engine starting spray is automatically subject to strong suspicion.
