    Seriously considering something like this for biking outdoors during wildfire season.

    A suggestion for mounting the hose, use a hose cover, some come with connection options to the vest, and to reduce the profile of the hose off the mask I recommend using a 90 degree hose. A far smaller silhouette overall.

  • @AnkhEmFentu
    @AnkhEmFentu 2 роки тому +8

    Mask hose came disconnected from mask during demonstration. Demonstrator did not realize this disconnect issue for 10+ secs. Therefore, demonstrator would be dead in a CBRN environment. What's the solution other than improving strapping & stowing?

    • @FirearmFreedom
      @FirearmFreedom  2 роки тому +2

      I would say running the PAPR in a different location would probably be best, although having an issue going prone i feel like having it in front of you is more ideal.

    Keeping the tube tied to the shoulder strap would be easy with ranger bands or zip ties. Wouldn’t recommend the zip ties though, don’t know how/if they’d wear down the hose

      Or inadvertently tighten on the hose 👀😂 but ya I think ranger bands would work or some Velcro

    To manage the hose, use Velcro tape or ranger bans.

    thanks for the vid though I'm curious about the green bag attachments. The kit I recieved from Mira has a shoulder strap with double attachment points, 2 male and 2 female. could you do another without the plate carrier and just donning the factory harness. Theres too many straps to figure out when the nuclear bitches strike. thx dave

    I like the look of the new MIRA mask. I have two CM-7M’s in medium but can’t get a seal, air escapes around the eyes. will have to exchange for small and see if it fixes the problem.

    I didn’t read all the comments but I have an agilite k19 and I found out these things called malice clips that are used to connect Molly to Molly. It’s Israeli so weird enough it works with the k19 because of the shoulder Velcro for wires but upon inspection it can actually fit the hose and secures it to the shoulder. It’s Israeli so I don’t know why I’m so 🤯 from it. Lol also just found out the cm-8m you have apparently is not supported by the standard hose so the reason why it fell out it may be because you could not connect all the threads from hose to mask? 😅 hope

    I know this video is a year old but I’m just getting into the gas mask deal. I’ve never been in the military and I would like you guys advice. I wondered if using this system would definitely shorten the usable time for a filter. My logic would be if the fan is pulling more air constantly the filters would not last as long as if you were just using your lungs. Am I right ? If anyone can steer me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.

    • @cowboynidaho
      @cowboynidaho 7 місяців тому +1

      One good reason to use a forced air system like this or any kind is that it can work with facial hair because it keeps the mask positively pressured. But yes, it can shorten the life of the filters due to air being constantly pulled through them.

    *_BUYER BEWARE!_*
    Mira Safety sells their products online under the condition of "all sales are final". This is not clearly indicated on the product description page or on the checkout page. I hold a Master of Business Administration degree, and consider this practice predatory! Their CM-8M (which comes in one size) appears to be much smaller than a US Army medium M-17A1 protective mask.
    *_Mira Safety does not accept returns!!!_*

    Mira is a terrible company they buy old stock and import and sell it as new gear at 2-4x market value their masks are just Czech OM90's (CM-7M) and older SCOTT Pro masks (CM-6M) and their new (CM-8M) Is the OM-2020 Czech Clone mask.

    • @FirearmFreedom

    • @TheRealHarrypm
      @TheRealHarrypm 2 роки тому +3

      @@FirearmFreedom "Brand-new" just means manufactured within 3 years the OM-2020 can be called new I suppose, but it doesn't change the fact they are upselling gear at the same price of what it's a clone of the Avon 50 series. (Also there is no outsurts or microphone system!)
      (I guess with rubberbyutol you can talc and vacuum pack it for 40 years just fine unless you checked the dates you wouldn't be able to discriminate between new and old stock)
