    UA-cam was listening and this was in my recommended feed this morning. My wife and I were talking about this system yesterday. One part of the conversation brought out the 12 year old in me. The location of the air pump and likelihood of a dutch oven. I think that would be the second largest drawback aside from cost. Overcoming both of those, I think it’s probably the best system out there for knifemakers.

    I use the 3M Versaflo since 3 years and it works great! The problem with the expensive batteries i fixt with an 18V to 12V converter witch i but in the frame of the old battery and now i use the batteries of my rechargeable drill. There are great tutorials here on youtube. This is not for dangerous or explosive zones but for me as hobby knife-maker it works fine.
    But there is one big problem with the Versaflow!!! Every fart you let, gets pumped directly in your nose. So don't eat to much Chilli bevor working with the Versaflo. ;-)

    Thanks for the review. Is this just a good option for people with beards? How would this option be better than just a $100 full face shield 3M respirator if you don't have a beard? Those have a compression fit on your face so nothing can get in. Seems like dust would still be able to get in with the versaflow. Thoughts?

    • @RedBeardOps
      @RedBeardOps  Рік тому +1

      Without a beard, I'm not sure. The air supply keeps positive pressure on the mask, so I don't think any dust will be getting in.

    Due to the ongoing wildfires and resulting particulate in the air, I was looking into something this so I could go outside and bike for hours without breathing all that crap into my lungs. It'd be nice to have a good, clean air supply with better flow than is provided by normal respirators. I was thinking that maybe I could just plug the air supply unit into a normal respirator face mask. It's mostly just an idle thought and I'll probably just wait until the air clears up - especially now that I know how much the good units cost!
