MIRA SAFETY is a great company . Had multiple orders with them and all products are high quality. Now really want the ballistic plate that Chuck Liddell has recommended.
Regarding the novel coronavirus: Using P100’s with swim goggles is a good alternative if gas masks are unavailable. N95’s are probably out of stock for the foreseeable future.
@Pagani Zonda please please PLEASE make sure to disinfect it every time you get back to you "safe zone" that mostly comes in the means of sanitizing it with wipes inside and out. Someone from Hong Kong told me that is a major issue with those who do use the reusable masks.
On the Topic of Mira Safety's Products Let me make a few things clear before I begin talking about Mira's masks: 1. Contrary to what I have heard many claim, Mira Safety does not manufacture gas masks. They instead get them from Czech and Russian manufactures and resell them in the United States. The CM-6M and the CM-7M (note that CM-7M is just a retail name and not its actual designation. The actual designation is OM-90) and the filters that come with them are made in the Czech Republic. The CM-2M (PDF-2D) and the KZD-6 and their filters are manufactured in Russia. 2. There is, as of yet, no proof that anyone other than the Czech military, Czech police, and the Turkish police use Mira products. I have emailed Mira Safety requesting photographs of anyone other than the aforementioned parties using their masks. They declined to send any. 3. There is no evidence that Mira Safety sells to any of the organizations that are listed on their website as users of their products. The Czechs and Turks buy from the manufacturers [Gumárny Zubří](www.guzu.cz/cz/vyrobni-program.html#ochranne-masky) and [AVEC](avec.cz/en/). 4. Mira Safety was founded in 2018. 5. I am not a gas mask dealer. The only time I have sold anything CBRN related, they have been antiques. This post was not made in an attempt to create a profit but instead to inform buyers. **Now that that is out of the way, I will discuss Mira Safety's masks.** **The CM-7M** The CM-7M (OM-90) is advertised as being a high-end mask for operators. Surely it must be true seeing as both the Czechs and Lithuanians use it, right? Well, after hours of searching I was unable to find any evidence the OM-90 is used by the Lithuanians. I did, however, find an [article which states that the Lithuanians - as well as the Latvians - have a contract with Scott](polygonjournal.com/2019/12/19/joint-procurement-will-provide-gas-masks-to-lithuanian-and-latvian-army/). Of course, the number of users does not mean that it is a bad mask but I think that it is important to inform a buyer of this discrepancy in Mira's advertising. What does make the OM-90 a bad mask is its features - or more aptly, lack thereof. While the CEO of Mira Safety, Roman Zrazhevskiy, [stated in a discussion with Chris' Gas Masks and Militaria](ua-cam.com/video/9LuRGvcFF78/v-deo.html) that "the \[OM-90\] is superior to the S10 for tactical applications", the opposite is true. It is undeniable that the OM-90 is better for use with optics than the S10 due to its lenses sitting closer to the face and, yes, skullcap head harnesses are nice but one cannot say that it is better for "tactical applications" for the following reasons: * The lack of support for a voice projection unit makes it more difficult for law enforcement to be heard by civilians or for operators to hear each other. * Lack of support for radio communication devices makes it more difficult for law enforcement to communicate with each other. * Lack of support for lens outserts greatly decreases the survivability of the mask. This also means that the user is not able to install laser protective or tinted outserts. * The five point head harness is less capable of creating an air tight seal than a six point head harness. While I am sure that it still does create a seal, it is objectively true that five point head harnesses are inferior to six pointed ones. * The lack of any method to retain a chemical hood makes the mask less likely to properly interface with a chemical suit. One simply cannot say that the OM-90 is tactically superior to the S10. Its disadvantages heavily outweigh the advantage of having close-to-the-eye lenses. Seeing as Mira sells OM-90s for $229.95, the price is much higher than what S10s normally go for. I think that it is fair to call the OM-90 obsolete since it is lacking many of the features of modern masks. **The CM-6M** The CM-6M is Mira Safety's panoramic option. This mask is used by - if my hours of searching have yielded accurate results - solely by the Czech and Turkish police. Of course, the CM-6M has all of the same failings as the OM-90. The CM-6M, however, is cheaper than the OM-90 by a whole ten dollars! Of course, this is only due to a sale going on at the moment. In fact, it seems that it has been going on for much longer than just 'at the moment'. I've asked around and nobody has seen it at any other price. I doubt this is the case, but Mira Safety may be doing an illegal practice in which they claim an item is 'on sale' while only ever selling it at the sale price. This practice is used to pressure customers to purchase products without much consideration. Like I said, I doubt that this is the case and I am sure everything Mira Safety is doing is entirely legal. Of course, just like the OM-90, the CM-6M is not suited for use in tactical situations and should be considered obsolete. **The CM-2M** The CM-2M (PDF-2D) is Mira Safety's gas mask for children. According to Mira's advertisment, the PDF-2D "has saved thousands of lives during the Chernobyl incident" and is the only mask on the market that fits kids from 1.5 to 15 years old. Those claims are both lies. First of all, being first made in the 1980s, the PDF-2D did not exist during the Chernobyl disaster. The PDF-2D is a member of a series of masks, earlier ones from which were present at that time and place. The second claim, that it is the only mask that fits children 1.5 to 15 years old, is also incorrect. The mask is divided into two sizes. While this does mean that the same model of mask fits children of the previously specified ages, an individual facepiece cannot. If you were to make use of that ability, you would need to purchase two facepieces resulting in a price of over $300. There are much cheaper options for masks meant for small children. Take the Israeli M10 and M10A1, for instance. They are much cheaper and do their job just as well as the PDF-2D. **The KZD-6** The KZD-6 is Mira Safety's protector for babies and small animals. Originally designed in the 1980s and lacking modern features, it is as obsolete as everything else Mira sells. It is also $949.95 on Mira Safety's website. On eBay, though, they can be found for $100 with free shipping. The immense price tag is just not worth it. It is especially not worth it considering that Israeli gas hoods for babies [are much cheaper than even the eBay listings](wellprepared.com/products/infant-gas-mask), take 40mm NATO filters (instead of the proprietary filters found on the KZD-6), and use a PAPR blower unit. As for animals, I am sure it would work fine for a dog. Cats, however, certainly would not be happy with being crated around in something like that. Having had to put cats into carriers many times, I know for a fact that they are made highly uncomfortable by being put into confined spaces. I also know from experience that putting two cats inside of the same carrier will invariably lead to fighting. The stress of being in a confined space makes cats violent in my experience. Mira suggests, though, that you can hold two cats in there. Hypothetically, yes you could. In practice it would be much more difficult. Of course, all that talk about cats is just from my personal experience. **Filters** All of the filters sold by Mira Safety are incredibly overpriced for what they are. You should not be paying $80 for an NBC filter when much cheaper but just as effective alternatives exist. **Conclusion** In summary, Mira Safety's products are just not worth buying. All of the masks they sell are both obsolete and grossly overpriced. **TL;DR:** Do not buy gas masks from Mira Safety.
And what is worth buying? There are some Czech shops who sell these mask for 115 Euro - 125 USD. Filters are like 30 USD a piece when buying them in Czech. Do not see the problem in that one.
Boy, I'm sure your PhD in Google Searching really blew the case wide open on these masks, huh? Some of your "sources" no longer exist, or you twist what they state to fit your strange narrative. You'll fit right in with Buzzfeed or one of the other "journalist" sites.
I hope you enjoyed watching this video featuring the awesome MIRA Safety CM-6M gas mask and filter! It was a lot of fun for me to film this video. I hope to never have to use this item in an actual emergency, but if I do, I am positive that I can count on the CM-6M gas mask for work as designed! Here are a few links to the MIRA Safety CM-6M GAS MASK bit.ly/2IFvkS20 and NBC-77 GAS MASK FILTER bit.ly/2B2Muoa if you'd like to purchase one for yourself. Cheers! ~Cliff
A few pointers: If you find yourself in a situation that requires the use of this mask and its filters, you probably need to wear some body (skin) protection as well, as some gasses can penetrate your skin. Those white suits offer some lovelof protection, but you might consider a hazmat suit (the yellow ones in your video). If you want to use this mask in combination with a hard hat, please not the according to European PPE legislation, you need to assure that these two items are compatible and are meant to be used together. Not all helmets are designed to be used in combination with a mask like this one. European PPE items are usually rated with an EN norm, often together with a national norm. DIN just for Germany. After use, masks like these should be cleaned en sealde up by a trained and certified professional. Filters should be disposed. Also read the instructions for the filters carefully, for every substance they filters out (like the mercury) is states how long they will do so. Filters can get Satrústegui much faster than you might think... Other than that, thorough review!
There are LOTO of other things we need to point out. 1.Poland doesn't use CM6M 2.Mira just added an M to the CM6 mask made by Gumarni Zubri and they sell it under their name. 3.Speech diaphrams are very common, even soviets used them. 4.You can speak even without a speech diaphram 5.Every gas mask is CBRN, THAT'S WHY THEY WERE MADE 6.You can get a working milsurp 40mm NATO gas mask that will protect you. 7.Mask last a lot longer than their shelflife, same with filters. 8.Reactor isn't nescesary for CBRN protection, you need only charcoal and paper 9.Reactor only makes charcoal expire slower while contact with iodine, pure charcoal also will work 10.Saying "You can buy N95 masks at home depot or a Mira Safety CM6M for 220£" is a huge manipulation. There are also milsurp masks and cheaper brand new ones
You won't be able to get a good seal while wearing glasses with a gas mask. MIRA does make an optical prescription insert that is compatable with thier masks. I can't speak for how good it is, I have not tried it yet. I was issued prescription inserts for the M50 gas mask when I went into the Army.
It’s $250 now lol if you are a veteran like myself, you will get around $43 off with that CBRN mask and one canister. I use govx for my discount. It’s higher than the 10% they offer
Would it make sense if she spray inside the tent for better results? Also, in real life situation you wouldn't want to add the second filter in a contaminated air/areas. With an exception if you are equip with complete hood/body gear, you can then add the second filter. Great videos and Thanks for sharing.
Just got this email from MIRA regarding my order back mid-Feb, just in case anyone was still looking to order: "The CM-6M and CM-7M are manufactured in the Czech Republic. On March 15th, there was a law passed prohibiting the sale of PPE to countries outside of the EU during this pandemic.
The good news is, there was a loophole that our legal team used, and we were just approved to resume shipping masks once again. This special allowance gives us the ability to cover all existing orders, plus a few weeks of new orders based on current volumes." ... "Please note, this legal hurdle has extended lead times by about two weeks."
What about wearing glasses with this though? You wear them but not with the gas mask on ... can you do that????? Super important to know if this is possible.
Did you say Poland ? We don't use these gas mask in police or military. perhaps the private owners of these masks will be found in the police. but this is only a small group of people, not the entire LEO
Excellent product although I suppose that us guys with facial hair need to keep a beard shaver charged and ready to trim for proper fitment. We used to do drills in the military pulling out gas mask and putting it on within a specific time limit. It would be interesting to see you do a quick beard trim and don your mask and do a seal check. The Army standard is 9 seconds to don the mask, of course doing a rapid beard trim that 9 seconds would be impossible but something to think about.
I was going to shave for this video, but my wife vetoed it. :) Yes, bearded folks should DEFINITELY have a beard trimmer ready to go in case of an emergency.
Sn95 really depends , a filter usually can be used for up to 40 hours , that being said you can use it until it’s clogged up , spray with alcohol after watch use
Depends on if you're actually using it and how many contaminants there are. If it's in an extreme environment, I'd probably give it an hour as a general rule.
I feel like most people dont realize you can buy a surplus gas mask, a filter adaptor to 40mm NATO (if it needs one) and a NATO filter for way less than this and it works just as well
Question, I am a 5'3" 105lb woman with a small face and would like to know if this mask will fit me since MIRA doesn't allow returns I need to know ahead of time, can't risk losing the amount of money. I am considering the SGE 400/3 BB in a size Sm/Med but can't find one with the drinking system for a decent price without the painfully bright yellow PV hood attached. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
It’s a great mask, but when you try an get a filter for it seems they just keep your money!!! I payed for a couple CBRN Filters over 3 months ago an no product! They won’t answer emails, phone messages, or texts! Just want my money back at this point!!!!!!!
They specifically say on there web site "Due to an unprecedented spike in order volume and inquiries, our lead times on shipping, along with the time it takes us to respond to your questions has increased. The current estimated lead time for the CM-6M with the drinking system is six to twelve weeks." You didnt read that?
Too bad I live in Europe - Could be fun to "collab" on a video about two-way radios. A lot is happening these years and radios are getting super advanced and super cheap, so any prepper can afford high quality IP67 or even waterproof mil-spec "walkies". You've already reviewed some radios, I know, but you can never review too many LOL :-) But what's really interesting is actually not the reviews but how to use the technology when SHTF :-)
There are 40mm to bayonet adapters from various vendors on Ebay. 3M made one, the 701 black/orange adapter, but they are impossible to find, but there are some 3D printed versions out there. Make sure to get the gasket. This adapter allows you to use cheap filters like the 2091 magenta P100 from 3M, with your gas mask. Good luck and stay safe everyone!
Well, there are better and cheaper surplus gas mask if you want it for protection. It can be Israeli 4a1 for 30$, or if you want a panoramic lens, you can buy a Fernez Panoramask . Also, it's a lie, that most gas masks don't have a speech diaphram. Even a very cheap PMG2 has it. CM6M is VERY overpriced. It's just not affordable for anyone who just wants a mask for protection.
I have to work with volatile and fuming acidic chemicals in my job and I use the CM-6M to keep me safe. I wear it for many hours at a time and I always feel way more comfortable when I have it on.
Thanks bud will consider this from the UK, do I need the Hazmat.suit? With people dying and some recovering Im worried. Im hoping the virus can be stopped may be a long shot before it is, I wear disposable gloves and use a big hand sanitizer too pretty prepared, mainly my shower unit would be my DECON, want to have my garage as a DECON unit worried about those spiders I cant see a bit further up the roof lol. Could set up a tent for DECON whenever I get back home
@@kingdomreturn304 Not a doctor/virologist here. But wouldn't hurt to have a full face mask for backup. I am using a half face respirator for my everyday commute to work. Because I live in the tropics and work in an open air environment. Just need to be more prompt in my hand washing and I should be fine. Speaking of setting up the decon area. A footwash is vital. Wouldn't hurt if you purchase a Hazmat suit. Just remember to run drills. Else, kinda defeat the purpose.
So I’m buying a mask to use with the stripper i use for rims. If u can use 1 filter does the chemical go into the other hole that missing the filter? Second how do you tell when the filter is bad and needs to be replaced?
Haha.. My wife want too keen on me shaving just to make this video. If I was testing something more dangerous (e.g., mustard gas) I would have had to shave. I thought the seal did great for the limited testing I was doing though.

Great review, man! I've been thinking about getting a mask for a while. I think maybe this one is a bit too expensive for me. But nice to hear your thoughts.
The G-Man Israeli masks are good , i really like my ARF-A/ MP-5 gas mask ( I can fit glasses by removing the earpieces ) ; try getting one with a drinking system and a voice diaphragm, filter even when expired still work for particulate matter ( avoid soviet filters , just go on gas mask wiki.com and learn what they look like it’s easy )
@@andreaberetta9656 Thank you for the input. I haven't bought a mask yet, so I appreciate your advice. It doesn't surprise me to hear that there's asbestos in old Soviet masks. I'll stay away from those! 🙂👍🏼
Great Review! Looks like a very functional and capable Respirator. - I am not a fan of the material that the harness is made from. How does the ease of breathing compare with other respirators? - For an emergency Preparedness Protection measure it sure does the job. Although the use would have to assess the threats within their area to establish their protection needs. - Does it come with a haversack for storage? - I would never advocate storing or crushing one into another pouch. - If it is NOT NIOSH CBRN approved, at that price, i wouldn't touch it.
Do you notice any scratches in the visor? There's scratches in the material itself it's not on the outside or the inside and when I talked to Mira they said it's normal and that kind of pisses me off because it took him six months to get it to me and yet I've got these imperfections that affect my vision in the visor
Hi All, I have come across this & have just grabbed one for "hopefully" never ever using in Australia. Can I ask if anyone has purchased the camelbak type m hydrolink mask adaptor??? I'll have to buy internationally as I cannot source in Australia, so I would like to check first. Thankyou :)
The filters don't come with the mask, right? I have to buy them separately in the page, could someone pls tell me exactly which ones? English is not my native language and I just want to be sure I didn't got it wrong. Thanks
@@dannymcdaniel1652 Im a gas mask collector, and their mask are overpriced, way over priced. Same thing with their filters. Hell, I've purchased almost 10 filters from them and 4 separate filters all leaked activated charcoal when I preformed a leak test on them (brand new and safe filters shouldn't leak activated charcoal through their particulate filter). They were all new, in date and separate batches. I brought this up to them and it was dismissed. Additionally they try to claim that any mask that is surplus, is unsuitable for use. Including does such as the M40 protective mask and Israeli 4A1. They are considered a joke by the people who collect gas mask as a hobby because of this.

**Now that that is out of the way, I will discuss Mira Safety's masks.**
**The CM-7M**
The CM-7M (OM-90) is advertised as being a high-end mask for operators.
It is undeniable that the OM-90 is better for use with optics than the S10 due to its lenses sitting closer to the face and, yes, skullcap head harnesses are nice but one cannot say that it is better for "tactical applications" for the following reasons:
* The lack of support for a voice projection unit makes it more difficult for law enforcement to be heard by civilians or for operators to hear each other.
**The CM-6M**
The CM-6M is Mira Safety's panoramic option.
**The CM-2M**
The CM-2M (PDF-2D) is Mira Safety's gas mask for children.
**The KZD-6**
The KZD-6 is Mira Safety's protector for babies and small animals.
**Filters**
All of the filters sold by Mira Safety are incredibly overpriced for what they are. You should not be paying $80 for an NBC filter when much cheaper but just as effective alternatives exist.
**Conclusion**
In summary, Mira Safety's products are just not worth buying.
Cheers! ~Cliff
Do you know how much percent these block particles like bacteria? How small um does this block?
How is the lens distortion on this mask?
A few pointers:
If you find yourself in a situation that requires the use of this mask and its filters, you probably need to wear some body (skin) protection as well, as some gasses can penetrate your skin.
1.Poland doesn't use CM6M
2.Mira just added an M to the CM6 mask made by Gumarni Zubri and they sell it under their name.
3.Speech diaphrams are very common, even soviets used them.
4.You can speak even without a speech diaphram
5.Every gas mask is CBRN, THAT'S WHY THEY WERE MADE
6.You can get a working milsurp 40mm NATO gas mask that will protect you.
7.Mask last a lot longer than their shelflife, same with filters.
8.Reactor isn't nescesary for CBRN protection, you need only charcoal and paper
9.Reactor only makes charcoal expire slower while contact with iodine, pure charcoal also will work
10.Saying "You can buy N95 masks at home depot or a Mira Safety CM6M for 220£" is a huge manipulation. There are also milsurp masks and cheaper brand new ones
How long does a filter last once opend and while in use?
best mask ever from the best company .my family is safe and protected
Great
Will this still work if I wear my eye glasses? I notice that you took your eye glasses off when putting on the gas mask.
You won't be able to get a good seal while wearing glasses with a gas mask. MIRA does make an optical prescription insert that is compatable with thier masks. I can't speak for how good it is, I have not tried it yet.
I was issued prescription inserts for the M50 gas mask when I went into the Army.
Well.. I was just looking for a good mask to do some sanding and Sheetrock.
That’s why I’m here.... 👍🏻 yup....
Just picked one up for their 4th of July sale.. cannot wait!
It’s $250 now lol if you are a veteran like myself, you will get around $43 off with that CBRN mask and one canister. I use govx for my discount. It’s higher than the 10% they offer
The reason why there are two filter ports is so you can shoulder a rifle depending on if you are left or right handed.
Yep. I think it's also easier to breath heavier when you have the two filters inserted.
Jacob Allison not only that but if one filter expires you can change on the fly without holding your breath.
Whos here after watching the news about Corona virus.
👇
The SGE isn’t actually NIOSH related it failed the tests, that’s why no military or police unit uses them.
Hello! Great video! Question for you, without filters does mask offer any minimum protection? Once filter is connected how long it last? Thank you!

Would it make sense if she spray inside the tent for better results? Also, in real life situation you wouldn't want to add the second filter in a contaminated air/areas. With an exception if you are equip with complete hood/body gear, you can then add the second filter. Great videos and Thanks for sharing.

Just got this email from MIRA regarding my order back mid-Feb, just in case anyone was still looking to order:
"The CM-6M and CM-7M are manufactured in the Czech Republic.
I thought they were made in Czechoslovakia
@@jaimemartinez3866 Yeah, same place :)
I still haven't received mine yet lol
So, if you buy a filter, it lasts, for ex, 24 hrs. so for one year, you need to buy 365, or can they be washed and reused?
What about wearing glasses with this though? You wear them but not with the gas mask on ... can you do that????? Super important to know if this is possible.
I just got mine in the mail today. Did yours have that butyric acid smell? Kinda like vomit?
Did you say Poland ? We don't use these gas mask in police or military. perhaps the private owners of these masks will be found in the police. but this is only a small group of people, not the entire LEO
Oh hello
I don't understand the "It's just an air vent" comment. So where is the air from the air vent coming in from? Is it a circulation from the filters?
Bike lock guy, my favorite villain.
It's fun having him be a character on my channel.
Handful of vaseline will help with the beard seal. But be warned, it can concentrate the irritant and cause rashes, etc.
How long can I use 1 filter?
Thanks for dropping this thorough Gas mask review. The mask is so cool
it's better to buy these masks from the manufacturer gumarny zubri which sells them for a lot less
and those filters are a rip off too
Lets all be honest, we all know we are here bc cops are using tear gas
I wear glasses to see so where do you get the stuff out to put your lenses or how would you do that inside of a gas mask just asking questions
After installing the filter, how long can you use until the filter before it has to be replaced? Thank you
Crickets.....
$220 for a mask with the same features as old cold war masks that you can buy for
How do you open the vent to use 2 filters? I already snapped the plastic trying to unscrew it
I just bought 2 MIRA Safety Masks, hope they arrive soon!

Thank you!

Sorry if this was already asked, but do you have to hold your breath when changing cartridges while wearing the mask?

What's the difference between that Mira mask and the 3M full face masks ?

It’s a great mask, but when you try an get a filter for it seems they just keep your money!!! I payed for a couple CBRN Filters over 3 months ago an no product! They won’t answer emails, phone messages, or texts! Just want my money back at this point!!!!!!!
They’re at a 8-12 week wait time.. They also say don’t order if you’re not willing to wait?
They specifically say on there web site
"Due to an unprecedented spike in order volume and inquiries, our lead times on shipping, along with the time it takes us to respond to your questions has increased. The current estimated lead time for the CM-6M with the drinking system is six to twelve weeks." You didnt read that?
seeing how things are going on so far in 2022/23 everyone needs this
Too bad I live in Europe - Could be fun to "collab" on a video about two-way radios.
If I ever come back to Europe I'd enjoy meeting up with you. That would be a blast.
Can you wear glasses? Most units lose their seal at the ear piece.
No, you can't wear normal glasses. You have to use custom ones with arms that just go to your temple.
TheUrbanPrepper Is there any gas mask with which normal glasses can be used? Or custom is the way to go? Thanks.
