The mystery velcro piece wraps around one shoulder diagonally going under the opposite armpit. It is made for wearing the PAPR unit on your backpack. The tube of the unit just slides underneath that mystery piece when coming up from your backpack mount. It’s made to keep the tube of the PAPR from dropping off of your shoulder when worn on the back.

to answer your question of "when is something tactical" well look at the definition:
    - relating to or constituting actions carefully planned to gain a specific military end.
So basically anything that is "DESIGNED" to fit a specific "MILITARY" purpose, so a pen can be used in a tactical scenario, but a tactical pen is designed to server a military strategical advantage over a normal pen, like a pen with mount for anti aircraft missiles would be a tactical pen, where a pen with a random company logo on it is sitting in front of me right now.

Good question! What's the difference between Tactical vs Non-Tactical? I think it boils down to durability and purpose of design. However, durability and purpose of design of a product are not mutual exclusive, meaning any well-built, sturdy item can be used tactically to serve your tactical objectives. Who would be the wiser?

Funny this hit today. Yesterday Colion Noir posted a video about MIRA. Apparently they have a new model that isn't even on their website yet, it's a second full shield model. And, since I've been trying to figure out a viable NBC option, I'll definitely be looking deeper into MIRA. Thanks for the video.

Good video. Right now I have the old Israeli masks for the family. They are not as refined as those.

Can this help me breath while I'm running while on duty because I don't know if theres anything else that assist your breathing while your running so u don't get winded as much I use a PAPR for duty not really for filter air but for the as t extra breathing assistance so I could run for a quiet long time
Do u have something that may help with that

if you run out of battery, can you still breathe with the PAPR even without power? I understand there won't be any flow but can you still manually suck in air from it?

How does this compare to my 3M half-mask with their P100 organic vapors and gas carteidges? I mean, I know it doesn't give me forced air, but what , other than that, makes this half-mask makes it more advantageous than the 3M mask? I DO like the forced air mechanism, and would like to have those for my family's gas masks.

This uses standard 40mm NATO threads/filters, so you have a pretty broad range of filter options. I would also suspect this will probably be a bit more "durable".... subjective of course.
