My every day smoothie: Fill half of container with greens [usually spinach] and tamp down a little. Then add a cored apple, one peeled banana, 4-6 strawberries, 4-6 chunks of pineapple, and about a cup of frozen blueberries. Add store bought probiotic blueberry kefir for liquid. Mix. Drink. The amounts of fruit varies by what I have but I always use all of the fruits listed, with one of the fruits [usually blueberries], frozen. [I use a NutriBullet. If using a blender, put the fruit in first and top off with the greens.]

As a thickner and nutrients I grind raw oats into flour and keep in a mason jar. I also use a coffee grinder to grind chia and flax seed into a flour texture and store in a mason jar in fridge. You can also use your over night oats in smoothie as well

My son became a vegan awhile ago and just purchased a "super" blender and has started making his own smoothies. I sent him this video as it will be a great reference to help him produce some delicious drinks. It will also help me as I am his tester, He believes if I can drink it and not get sick it is a winner. I do hope he follows your tips and methods. :)

I love your videos Dani. My favourite smoothie combination in the morning is 1/4 of an avocado, a good handful of spinach , cucumber , chia and hemp seeds , some nice cold coconut milk or almond milk . This keeps me going almost all morning . I am going to have to get some Jay Robb whey protein . I didn't realize it was lactose free . When I need something just to cool me down , I just throw a frozen banana in my nutribullet along with some coconut milk , some cinnamon and blend it and it really tastes like I am drinking a milkshake . :)

Lemon zest, lemon juice, orange zest, fresh oranges or orange juice for flavor variety, vanilla essence, cinnamon, all spice, cloves, honey, dates, raisins, hemp seeds, moringa powder coconut milk, frozen papaya, bee pollen, nutritional yeast, pumpkin seeds, vanilla essence, sun flower seeds, almonds, black seeds( anti inflammatory, very pungent, tiny amount or else you will ruin your smoothie) sesame seeds or tahini, flax seeds are some of the ingredients I add in different amounts and combinations. Thank you Dani for sharing your great smoothie ideas.

I love your channel...thank you. I take a couple of avocados...peel and put them in my small processor with a bit of fresh lemon juice...(to prevent browning) and process until smooth...then spoon dollops of creamed mixture onto parchment lined tray or cookie sheet and freeze. Place in zip lock bag or airtight container to pop into your smoothies whenever you wish. I enjoy the creaminess it lends to a smoothie better than banana. I am diabetic and watch the sweetness factor closely. The healthy fat is a great addition!

Other's may have mentioned it but you can add a teaspoon or 2 of chia seeds as a thickener. I use banana and add fat free plain greek yogurt and a tablespoon or 2 of hemp seeds for some extra body and nutrition. Some people add a small amount of agave syrup too as a natural sweetener. I stick with a single date.

I've always been told that only cutting veggies before you eat/cook, so the nutrition remain. But I've seen so many people prepare their greens/salad beforehand and store them in plastic bags or glass jars. Do we still get all the nutrition by doing so? What's your opinion and suggestion?

It's a very good guide! Greek style, natural, full fat yogurt (low fat if you prefer; can be used as a thickener/liquid) and flax seeds (grind into flax meal in a processor and keep it in the freezer) are the only things I would add to this list. Yogurt will give you the added benefits of good bacteria, and flax seeds for all the good fats.

Hi Dani, thanks for the video! I'm def a smoothie lover. I always add chia seeds and flax seeds to my smoothie on top of some of the great things you mentioned in the video. The chia seeds really help to thicken up my drink.
Before I was introduced to chia seeds I used oats, that also gave me a really filling breakfast drink. I would soak the oats in the milk while I prepped all of the other ingredients then I would blend away.
    Hope this helps :)

You are truly my new favorite "vlogger" ! Thank you soooo much for this and your other videos! My absolute favorite smoothie is my pineapple carrot spice smoothie...I use 1/2-3/4 cup almond milk (just eyeball it, depends on end result), 1/2 cup chobani plain nonfat greek yogurt (a good thickener in place of banana), 1/4 cup shredded carrots (or I just throw in a few sticks from my crudite), 1/2 cup frozen pineapple, a pinch of ground ginger, pinch of cinnamon (both spices to personal taste of course) and finish with a squeeze of honey for extra sweetener then blend. It's sooooooo yummy and tastes like a pineapple carrot cake! Try it out! :) Thanks again Dani! I've learned so much!
