i love this i've been seeing more and more people integrating cottage cheese a bit there and well everywhere so that seems quite interesting.. i'm just wondering with your training routine and all is 1600cal not way under the normal maintenance level? are you on a fat loss journey or is it just what you feel satiated with?
Thank you for this direction in health and wellness. I’m post menopause and building muscle and focusing on high protein meals are a priority at this stage in my life. Really appreciate the content.
@@wendyjeckell7445 Oooh, I hadn't thought of that! With the weather getting (unseasonably!) warmer here in Australia, that sounds like an excellent option to both get some more vege in, and for a more refreshing option. Thank you! ❤
Thank you so much for the ideas, I am also post menopause, doing strength training, but am really struggling with what I eat. I eat clean whole foods, but have terrible cravings and then snack on junk. So looking forward to the banana bread recipe. Keep these ideas coming, we ladies in this stage of life need all the inspiration we can get. ❤
This was so helpful, Dani! I am on a GLP1 and struggling to get enough protein in a day. My loss of appetite keeps me from eating typical-size meals, so I find myself snacking, but not on foods of much value. Even if I don't eat all of what you just shared, the ideas are spectacular. Please do more of these protein-forward, What-I-Eat-In-A-Day types of videos!
Consuming collagen with 1000 mg vitamin C is also recommended. If I can find the reference, I will add it later. I prefer collagen powder in water vs a hot drink.
Great ideas and I love that you eat bread. I am also looking forward to the banana bread recipe next week. The afternoon is when I struggle and having coffee or tea and something like cake would satisfy my European taste buds.
This video was outstanding! I’m 49, turning 50 in January. My hubby and I mostly eat high quality healthy foods, simple ingredients, etc. Throw in smaller more frequent meals and some intermittent fasting and we feel pretty good!
Hi Dani! Thanks so much for sharing another 'what i eat in a day'! Im in my 40s also, with the goal of just feeling strong and healthy in a sustainable (and delicious) way so that I can avoid the ailments that women in their 60s-90s usually encounter if they don't incorporate movement/nutrient rich food as a regular part of life. I've been a subscriber here for years, I remember when you had a different kitchen background! Your food and now strength exercise routines really show that you just dont age! You truly do not look 48 and I feel like that's proof that having nutrient rich food and daily movement really does help people look and feel younger than their age!
Yes! I love sweet and savoury together - I really enjoyed this video - I can totally relate to your way of eating - Thank you for sharing - Great ideas!! 😊
Love this channel and your ideas for meal plans. Thank you so much for sharing! One quick note is that collagen is NOT a complete protein and therefore shouldn’t be added to your protein count for the day. Sadly, I just learned this from working with a nutritionist.
I absolutely love your content and your energy! Thank you so much for brightening up our day with these inspiring videos! Can you make a separate video on the breads you consume? I am trying to reduce gluten consumption for health reasons, but your breads look and sound so appealing! Sprouted green bread? Nut bread? OMG I wanna hear more about all that good stuff! Sending you lots of love from a small country of Azerbaijan!
Thank you Dani! I’m in my early 40s looking for more yummy protein filled meals for overall health and weight-loss goals. Are you able to do a video to help with foods/meal ideas for someone who is pre diabetes? I really want to bring that number under so that I’m out of pre diabetes. Thank you.
Hello Dani from our farm in New Hampshire. Great tips for breakfast. I am post gall bladder and cannot manage any nut butters, however can eat most of what you are recommending. I just received your amazing cookbook and find I can also eat almost everything. The rest I can substitute, for example carob for chocolate. Chicken for red meat and lightly steamed salads instead of raw salads. The basics that you are putting forth in your book and on your channel, form a solid, reliable base of healthy and fun recipes. ~ Diane
Hi Danni, I love, appreciate and share your videos. Thanks for sharing. I would love to know the brand of cranberry read you used for the turkey sandwich?
I like that you are eating real food and not fasting, you eat good tasting food all throughout the day. I'm sort of on the same path. I'm 52 and this year I decided was the year to get in shape and stay there. Unfortunately it's right in the middle of menopause and it hasn't been easy but it's happening. I'm down 22lbs. I've been cycling and doing a lot of weight training. I like LMNT but not the high sodium. I am not sure if they need the sodium to react in some way with the other ingredients or not but I wish they made a lower sodium one because I have borderline high blood pressure.
Thank you so much for this video. It’s really helpful to have some high protein recipes as I’m turning 40 today and I’m wanting to get my body stronger and healthier. Most of the time I look up high protein menu ideas and they don’t look appetizing but your ideas actually look delicious and something I would eat.
Dani, I am currently crushing sheep yogurt. I eat 453 grams after my 13 mile walk outside. Then I generally eat 2-3 Brazil nuts and three organic prunes. Then I throw some kettlebells around and do some other muscle things, then for example today, I ate 250g of steamed broccoli with 150 calories worth of canned salmon with skin and bones. At some point I will also eat 2-3 T of pumpkin seeds (magnesium baby) and for dinner all I ever want is 453g of sheep yogurt AGAIN. I’m 60 and while I love nuts and nut butters I’m currently pushing it all away in favor of sheep yogurt. 80g protein per day
Hi Dani! I absolutely loved this informative video with all your recipes & tips! I have a few questions please - is there a reason you wait a couple of hours after waking to have your breakfast or is it just preference, and how long do you wait between eating breakfast & working out? I can’t wait to make this savoury breakfast and the cottage cheese Alfredo, do you find the sauce thick enough without having to use a binder/thickener such as cornstarch or arrowroot/tapioca starch? What are your thoughts on the recent news/information regarding very high glyphosate levels found in Banza chickpea pasta? Thank you so much, I appreciate all the information you provide to everyone!😊💕
Thank you so much, this was so helpful and gives me some fresh ideas. I need to find that cottage cheese & pasts recipe…. I’d love to see some alternatives eating the bread, are there low carb options you know of (besides the low carb bread 😂) than you again, I look forward to more.
Dani how what is the carb count? It all looks delicious however I’m trying to eat a little more low carb. Thank you for sharing, you look great & I am learning so much from your videos.
I really like this type of video as I am post menopausal and looking to get stronger. Your suggestions for high protein meals are so helpful as I struggle to get in enough protein during the day. Keep them coming, please! Also looking forward to the banana bread recipe 😊
These are great ideas! I have been loving your content lately Dani, thanks so much! I also finally went to your link for LMNT and am enjoying it. It's been about a week now and I have noticed that I don't wake up with all the aches and stiffness I was having.
This amazing! Thank you so much. Do you have any tips on not having watery scrambled eggs with cottage cheese? I try to incorporate cottage cheese in things for extra protein because I don’t like it at all on its own. I made your cottage cheese Alfredo last week, and it was absolutely delicious! I also think I’m going to finally use your code and try LMNT. Have a great day, Dani, and thanks for all of the useful information.
It's my pleasure! Glad it's all helpful. The more fat in the cottage cheese, the less watery the eggs will be. That said, I usually use lowfat and find that once they come out of the pan and are not super hot, the water reabsorbs and the eggs are nice and fluffy.
Hello. I have done a lot of research on cleaner protein powders. I order from Transparent Labs. I really like the flavors (only tried the chocolate and dark chocolate) - they are subtle, not overpowering and no preservatives like so many powders. Third party tested too..
Which sprouted grain bread do you buy? I like the breakfast and lunch options. the meals look so delicious and so that does banana bread, oh my....yum😋 That's a lot of protein, my daughter and I were talking about how hard it was to even get about 60 grams of protein, but you made it so easy. Thanks!
Dani, I DO like protein smoothies - especially after a heavy workout. BUT, I live in Maine and once the weather gets cooler, smoothies lose their appeal. NOT a fan of cold drinks in winter! What's a warmer sub I could use to get the same benefits?
I'm going to start substituting mashed raspberries for jam on my morning toast! Your sandwich at lunch looks really good and it’s on my menu for next week! Thank you for the great ideas.
I really enjoy your Eat in a Day videos. You have many great ideas. I, eat the same things over and over, as you do. I like getting fresh ideas from you to break the routine sometimes.
Thanks Dani for all your great recipes❤. As a 63 yr old woman, I try to go higher in protein, and healthy fats, however I struggle a bit with low carb. It leaves me feeling a bit shaky and foggy. Could you speak to this a bit in a future video please?
How low do you try to go? We have to remember that different approaches work for different bodies, so listening to your body's feedback is key! That said, it all takes time and practice - believe me, I'm right there working on it all with you! XO
I would like to see a video on how to get protein if you aren't fond of vegetables. I really struggle with them. I will eat a salad, but that's about it. I like potatoes, but I know they are higher in carbs. I have your cookbook and I am really loving it.
Great meal recommendations! I always enjoy your videos. The only question I have is counting the collagen in the protein count. Since it is not a complete protein, I don't think it should be added to the protein count. I can't wait for the banana protein bread recipe!
Does anyone have any ideas on what protein powder to use? I have been researching different ones and it's gotten so confusing! Some say with whey.....don't know if that's important! Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you, Dani for sharing all of your ideas.
There are several great protein powder options. I prefer whey protein b/c I think it has a better flavor and texture. Here are some of my favorites: Momentus: amzn.to/3yNlHOl KION: bit.ly/3WHkYpM (Use Code: CLEAN10 save 10%) Tera's Whey: amzn.to/3OvvLPW (great price and often on sale via Amazon) FlavCity: amzn.to/3DRne4D If you prefer a plant-based protein (no whey), here are a couple of great options: Truvani: amzn.to/3DQJVWK Garden of Life: amzn.to/45qBtcI If you want something that has no flavor (you can add to coffee or oatmeal or smoothies and not taste it at all!) collagen protein is a great option. Primal Kitchen Collagen: amzn.to/453SXvG Vital Protein Collagen: amzn.to/3sdye9W Any of these would be great options!
"Getting all fit and fabulous," then that cute laugh. Yes, ma'am, you sure are! Ugh, just love her. That 30g protein hit during the morning is clutch and it's not too much food. I wonder what the exchange for homemade sourdough bread would be and how it would change the macros. Love this style video! Keep it coming ❤

Great video and I'm looking forward to the recipe for the protein banana bread. Got the alfredo pasta ingredients on my list for tomorrow. Btw I'll be turning 48 in about 5 months so this is great what you are doing. One question about the collagen powder... what kind do you recommend or have tried? I looked on amazon and talk about choices lol, I couldn't decide. Ty
I have been eating a version of your lunch (with cream cheese instead of laughing cow and sourdough) since your last what I eat video. It’s so delicious!
Love all these recipes to incorporate the cottage cheese, gonna try that egg one tomorrow 😋 but, I turned 60 and have always been pretty active, but my body hasn't shown it since after my child bearing years lol sadly. But, I never quit because of how a workout makes me feel. I am Native American and we carry our weight in the mid section, arms and legs pretty slender... I am impressed with your ability to do pull ups. I have horrible upper body strength and I would like to know if you know much about resistance band routines? I want to try the ELMT too. Thanks for all you do, Dani 😊
It's a journey for sure! I love that you continue to workout because it makes you FEEL good - that's the magic mindset right there. As for pullups, I started by using resistance bands (And still use them!) - it's a great way to get in more reps when you can't do them unassisted.
Dani please could you talk us through your workout routine & skincare routine? You look fabulous!
I was coming on to request this as well!
Yessss please I'm very interested in your skincare bc your skin is glowing!
Agree!!!

Btw I'll be turning 48 in about 5 months so this is great what you are doing. One question about the collagen powder... what kind do you recommend or have tried? I looked on amazon and talk about choices lol, I couldn't decide. Ty
thank you dani, inspiring as always, where can I find this banana recipie?
I will be sharing that recipe next week!
Which coffee do you use? Flavour? Nespresso machine? No sweetner
I have been eating a version of your lunch (with cream cheese instead of laughing cow and sourdough) since your last what I eat video. It’s so delicious!
Love that!! And I agree, it's SO good.
I am loving this content! Thanks for the great ideas. 💪🏼😄
It's my pleasure.
What collagen powder do you use?
Can’t wait for the protein banana bread recipe!!!
You present it in a very interesting way
Love all these recipes to incorporate the cottage cheese, gonna try that egg one tomorrow 😋 but, I turned 60 and have always been pretty active, but my body hasn't shown it since after my child bearing years lol sadly.
Dani how do you sleep with the amount of coffee you drink?! I would be awake at 3am.
Thanks for your videos!!
Went straight to the info box for the protein banana bread recipe… looking forward to it! 🤤
I’ll be sharing it next week!
