@@CaptZdq1This is not a TV show, this is a court case regarding the gruesome murders of four college kids. Just because you are enthralled by the drama of it all doesn't mean that the judicial process should be compromised for your viewing pleasure. You or me seeing this thing unfold live on TV does nothing to convict this man or get justice for these kids and their families. Allowing journalists into the courtroom is a must but in terms of televising this case, that only serves to drive up ratings and make money for corporate media and create entertainment out of a horrible tragedy.

Read Programmed to Kill by Dave McGowan. You’ll see that this isn’t the first of its kind, and in fact fits a strange yet little known pattern that has gone on around similar cases for awhile.
I don’t agree with McGowan’s main thesis about why they do it (it’s a little out there), but the level of detail he includes is unrivaled. He covers specifically the issue around killers that have done similar crimes to this one experience strange legal proceedings such as the court closing off to the public, moving towns, etc etc.
If you’re into this type of stuff, it’s seriously the best book I’ve ever read about the subject just due to how unique it is. He takes all the strange and weird elements to each case
