I am so damn surprised you actually took the chance on this game, I saw this game when it had 4 reviews and it was just so surprisingly unique, I ended up contributing to some guest puzzles and ...uh too many custom maps for this game LMAO. the game takes its mechanics to very interesting directions (and there's lots of surprising moments) so I'm excited if you plan to do more!!
I've spent way too much time playing this game, and I think you will genuinely love it! Me and many others in the Lingo community also create our own levels that range from just a few puzzles to hundreds with all kinds of themes too. If this sticks with you and you get to the end of the game, be sure to try out the custom maps
@@Imperial_Squid Well... he didn't really. I mean, he obviously still has the good sentiment to let us do it; it's just not very easy to make level editors for Godot. He did however give some of us access to enough of the files from the game to make custom scenes in the Godot studio :P
@@AltoRed_ I have been instructed to make fun of any insect herder. Unfortunately I have no idea how to do that, so I'll just say hi and stop there. Hi.
The funny thing with Chants of Sennaar was that (having finished it before he played it) the symbols that they used for the thumbnail are between the most recognizable ones, I would just translate the symbols and then read the right side 😂
@@AltoRed_ The first writes something like "Devotee, seek/search, god", the second is "Impure, (plural sideways), duty", the third is "stupid, find", the fourth one is "Transformation, (not actual symbol that looks like an atom)", the final one is "Me, fear, you", the only one I had to look up was the Anchorites' (5th language) "fear" symbol.
Antichamber had a way of appearing like it is trying to show you something but it's not allowed to directly tell, so it's being a little unapproachable, but never distant. This game is great, the deductions about rules and some of the puzzles once you do know the rules are great. It's got a great unraveling to it, similar to my favorite puzzle games as you build on your knowledge. (I wasn't a huge fan of the non-Euclidean stuff, and eventually tracking down puzzles got to be a bit meh, but it was still 9/10.)
It sounds like the theme of the entire game is you need to figure out how *everything* works, not just the puzzles, but the space you move through aswell. But i wouldnt know, as ive never played it lol
I definitely was an insect herder as a kid 😂. I used to lure insects into certain traps and keep them if they were cool. Typically the only insects that every grouped up enough to be considered herding were ants and I would always lead the black ones to the promise land and the red ones I’d lead them to their death. I didn’t like the red ones cause they would hurt so I thought they should die. I had to stop when my mom found out I was letting the live in the house free.
This is probably the game where I needed the most note-taking because, usually, in other games it's just memory (which I'm really good at and The Witness ain't got nothing there) but damn, in this game, I really can't do the more difficult challenges in my head. I'm also using software for anagrams because screw that.
Absoultely dying laughing at the part with the red box that got more intense but then jumped back to normal repeatedly, and the secret return of led near the end!
I attempted to play this game many months ago and I have NEVER realized the amount of rules this game has. I couldn't even categorize them in my head by their colors. This game is insane and you, mr. Tyler, might be even crazier than the whole game, bravo :D
Top tier game imo. I'm one of the custom creators for the game and I'm super hyped to see you playing it! That said youtube appears to think you're playing Antichamber...
The heights is the "level of abstraction"; on the floor it's very literal; at eye level, it's one level removed, and it's related to the text; above eye level, it's even further removed, and just related to the sounds.
I'm so glad you're playing this! This game is massive (despite having over 100 hours, I still haven't completed it although you may want to half that since I played a bit of custom maps.).
A thistle is a european weed, which has bulbous, thorny purple flowers. It is also the national flower of Scotland. There are many species, and some can be specifcally grown to be several meters tall.
Glad to see other people relating this to antichamber as well! I think you would get a solid chuckle out of that game, as it bases itself heavily around non-euclidian exploration and experimentation! Its like the exploration itself is a puzzle!
This is definitely the kind of playthrough that benefits a ton from a good edit. It's the kind of game that is… very frustrating for someone not used to puzzles, and very boring for someone to watch unless you really pare it down to just the process of solving the puzzles. Great work from Tyler, Noarsy, and Ben! Would love to see more of this, but also would strongly recommend *not* 100%ing the game. There's a lot of fluff that you're probably not too interested in, but also a lot of fun content and areas to explore.
This reminds me of understand with the concept of having to learn the rules through the game. I think next time you play this you should make a spreadsheet of what height and color mean, until you can see the pattern
Never heard of this game, but the systematization is lovely. Bottom is semantics, middle is grammar (or letter), and top is phonetics (or phonemes/syllables) I wonder if the two big black box of LIGHT could have been double negation, so DARK→ LIGHT → HEAVY Green is a very curious case indeed
Here's what every box does. Do not read if you want to get the game for yourself. (G is referring to the given word) White/Center - Same as G (Yes, Yes) White/Bottom - Synonym (True, Correct) Purple/Center - Part of the word G plus more *Must remove from one side* (Notebook, Facebook) Black/Top - The sounds backwards (Lace, Sale) Black/Center - G Backwards (No, On) Black/Bottom - Antonym (Yes, No) Yellow/Center - Anagram (Crate, Trace) Red/Top - Part of the word G *Can be misspelled as long as it is pronounced the same* (Airplane, Plain) Red/Center - Part of the word G *You can only remove letters, but from anywhere in the word* (Played, Pled) Red/Bottom - The word is a part of the subject of G (Foot, Toe) Blue/Top - Is part of a bigger word *Can be misspelled* (Ice, Height, Eyesight) Blue/Center - Add letters to G *Can be in-between* (More, Moored) Blue/Bottom - Is part of the subject of G (Wall, Room) I will be coming back next video If I missed something or got something wrong (besides green), tell me, don't give me the answer though!
Idk if anyone remembers this game, but back in 2017, there was a word game called mumbojumbo on the app store and google play, and it was one of the most interesting games ever. It was basically a turn based rpg but your attacks were based on words. It was such a cool game with its unique idea, and i think it is a hidden gem that was skipped over.
I love that occasionally you unlock like RPG character titles. The Bold. The Travelled. I have no idea if this is true its just my interpretation so far. Also please continue this.

I assume the top ones involve changing syllables + The other concept and long black means double negative (words that share an antonym) Ps. The red with ice + height, I think it's eyesight, get it
I think the double black could be finding the opposite of the word then finding the opposite if the resulting word, below is a spoiler for what I think the "Dark" double black could be: Dark -> Light -> Heavy
This is a pretty unique game! Some of the solutions are a bit contrived, and it gets very difficult later on, but I enjoyed this for the first 3-4 hours and would enjoy revisiting it.

Yellow = B is a descriptor of the puzzle's location, A is where the set of puzzles are? At foot level = in the definitions of the words At eye level = in terms of the word itself or its letters Above eye level = phonetically (in terms of how the words sound)
hight rules are shared along all colors, and colors rules are shared along all hights (hight is for if it is based on word meaning, writen word or sound of word (i think) and color is for what you do to it(no i cant be bothered to write all the colors down))
