- Lingo Part 1 - a first person non Euclidean open world puzzle game about word association? Seems strange, but count me in. Something's got to fill the Sennaar-shaped hole in my heart.

Think this should be the game series to tide us over between Chants of Sennaar and Talos Principle 2? Let me know.
YES
Yes
Yeah! Based on like, the first minute, it seems really cool.
Yes
Yessss
Tyler not getting the opposite of "CLOSE" is just the funniest thing ever
He just played chants too
Scrolling to see if anyone else is yelling the answer at the screen
Bro does puzzles like it's just another Tuesday but brainfarts when it comes to this lmao, the human brain really is marvelous.
Clothes
same for need in needle and went for came 😭
I am so damn surprised you actually took the chance on this game, I saw this game when it had 4 reviews and it was just so surprisingly unique, I ended up contributing to some guest puzzles and ...uh too many custom maps for this game LMAO. the game takes its mechanics to very interesting directions (and there's lots of surprising moments) so I'm excited if you plan to do more!!
Bess Chattle Advanced?
i fear Ice Height
FrostedEnigmas is totally right here
I still remember Palace... *shudders*
At least Ice Teal has very easy to understand mechanics that everybody knows and loves :04_walcomebuck:
welcome back
This game gives me MASSIVE Antichamber vibes, and Antichamber was such a good game. Excited to see where this goes.
This was exactly my thought
I was hoping somebody else got this vibe :)
also got the same vibe from it, seems like youtube did as well because it tagged the game as antichamber
21:19
AntiChamber but with words and no life advice 🥺
That whole sequence at 11:43 got me laughing the whole time
same😅
was looking for this comment, I don't usually laugh out loud when I'm watching alone, but that part was too good
21:55 led?
The thumbnail potential for the language puzzle games is insane
As an insect herder I agree with this message
@@AltoRed_ I have been instructed to make fun of any insect herder. Unfortunately I have no idea how to do that, so I'll just say hi and stop there. Hi.
The funny thing with Chants of Sennaar was that (having finished it before he played it) the symbols that they used for the thumbnail are between the most recognizable ones, I would just translate the symbols and then read the right side 😂
@@simonepolo2388 what do they actually say tho?
@@AltoRed_ The first writes something like "Devotee, seek/search, god", the second is "Impure, (plural sideways), duty", the third is "stupid, find", the fourth one is "Transformation, (not actual symbol that looks like an atom)", the final one is "Me, fear, you", the only one I had to look up was the Anchorites' (5th language) "fear" symbol.
I've spent way too much time playing this game, and I think you will genuinely love it! Me and many others in the Lingo community also create our own levels that range from just a few puzzles to hundreds with all kinds of themes too. If this sticks with you and you get to the end of the game, be sure to try out the custom maps
Gotta love a dev that goes out of their way to make a level editor, that's good dedication right there!
@@Imperial_Squid Well... he didn't really. I mean, he obviously still has the good sentiment to let us do it; it's just not very easy to make level editors for Godot. He did however give some of us access to enough of the files from the game to make custom scenes in the Godot studio :P
Antichamber had a way of appearing like it is trying to show you something but it's not allowed to directly tell, so it's being a little unapproachable, but never distant. This game... rather has a vibe of laughing at you trying to make sense of it. Hope you conquer it soon, and show it who's boss, Tyler!
I definitely was an insect herder as a kid 😂. I used to lure insects into certain traps and keep them if they were cool. Typically the only insects that every grouped up enough to be considered herding were ants and I would always lead the black ones to the promise land and the red ones I’d lead them to their death. I didn’t like the red ones cause they would hurt so I thought they should die. I had to stop when my mom found out I was letting the live in the house free.
[insert mean spirited comment here]
The promised land 😂 that’s hilarious
this is the kind of hobbies i wish i have
Such a rare occasion to see Tyler confused. So cute.
Waiting for more!
Yes it’s fun to see
This game is great, the deductions about rules and some of the puzzles once you do know the rules are great. It's got a great unraveling to it, similar to my favorite puzzle games as you build on your knowledge. (I wasn't a huge fan of the non-Euclidean stuff, and eventually tracking down puzzles got to be a bit meh, but it was still 9/10.)
It sounds like the theme of the entire game is you need to figure out how *everything* works, not just the puzzles, but the space you move through aswell.
But i wouldnt know, as ive never played it lol
I've seen icely puzzles praise this game so much so I'm happy to see you play it!
chess battle advanced :)
haha get cba'ed
The editing of “ned, led, end, eel?” SHATTERED ME, amazing work as always, editors and tyler
This is probably the game where I needed the most note-taking because, usually, in other games it's just memory (which I'm really good at and The Witness ain't got nothing there) but damn, in this game, I really can't do the more difficult challenges in my head. I'm also using software for anagrams because screw that.
There's so many different rules to keep track of with different box colors and positions, I needed to take notes to keep it all straight too
I'M CRYING SO HARD I'VE BEEN
PLAYING THIS GAME FOR NEARLY A YEAR NOW !!! EVEN MADE SOME CUSTOM MAPS!!!!! THIS IS A DREAM COME TRUE AAAAAA
Can't wait for the sequel of this game, called Duolingo. No wait-
Fr 💀
Duolingo… or even Duolingo math
souvey moment
who's that @@IcelyPuzzles
The heights is the "level of abstraction"; on the floor it's very literal; at eye level, it's one level removed, and it's related to the text; above eye level, it's even further removed, and just related to the sounds.
The first hour thumbnails always go crazy
As an Insect Herder, I can testify that people do indeed herd insects.
A thistle is a european weed, which has bulbous, thorny purple flowers. It is also the national flower of Scotland. There are many species, and some can be specifcally grown to be several meters tall.
Awesome episode, hope to see a full series!
This felt like watching a fever dream. I love it.
White: Is the same as
Black: Is the opposite of
Red: Contains
Blue: Within
Yellow: Anagram
Purple: Replacement
Floor: Meanings
Eye level: Spellings
High: Pronunciations
This game is so much fun to watch you play. I want to see you play a lot more of it.
I'm so glad you're playing this! This game is massive (despite having over 100 hours, I still haven't completed it although you may want to half that since I played a bit of custom maps.).
I attempted to play this game many months ago and I have NEVER realized the amount of rules this game has. I couldn't even categorize them in my head by their colors. This game is insane and you, mr. Tyler, might be even crazier than the whole game, bravo :D
this game reminds me of Antichamber, which would make a good game to play on the channel imo.
The world feel and look reminds me of Antichamber. Excited for more!
Absoultely dying laughing at the part with the red box that got more intense but then jumped back to normal repeatedly, and the secret return of led near the end!
Aliensrock: "open-world puzzle game"
Me: 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
0:43 nice touch with the music😂
This is definitely the kind of playthrough that benefits a ton from a good edit. It's the kind of game that is… very frustrating for someone not used to puzzles, and very boring for someone to watch unless you really pare it down to just the process of solving the puzzles.
Great work from Tyler, Noarsy, and Ben! Would love to see more of this, but also would strongly recommend *not* 100%ing the game. There's a lot of fluff that you're probably not too interested in, but also a lot of fun content and areas to explore.
Love watching this. Please make more.
Omg I would love to see more of this!
Loving this. Such an interesting concept!
A friend pointed me here after I said I wished there were people to watch play this. They have good taste. Please continue, this is very enjoyable.
This reminds me of understand with the concept of having to learn the rules through the game. I think next time you play this you should make a spreadsheet of what height and color mean, until you can see the pattern
Glad to see other people relating this to antichamber as well! I think you would get a solid chuckle out of that game, as it bases itself heavily around non-euclidian exploration and experimentation! Its like the exploration itself is a puzzle!
This is absolutely awesome
Hope we get more word games
Been waiting for two whole days for this
Hope to see more of this!
Finally, Lingo, been hoping for this for a while
Top tier game imo. I'm one of the custom creators for the game and I'm super hyped to see you playing it! That said youtube appears to think you're playing Antichamber...
I don't know why i chuckled so hard at that editors note at 0:43
That was so good, can't wait for episode 2
YES! One of the most underrated puzzle games of all time, please finish this one!
That in the title is Baner
A woodchuck that loves performing his profession in the morning
This game is so awesome! I would love to see more c:
oh hell yeah. i love lingo, glad you're finally playing it!
Oh god this game is the best!!! I’ve seen another UA-camr play it and wished you could play it, so glad to see it!!!❤
I feel like that double black box with dark at the end is like the opposite of the opposite. So dark -> light -> heavy
I love how unique your intros are
13:10 A family of spiny plants.
21:36 Double opposite, "Heavy"?
This is a pretty unique game! Some of the solutions are a bit contrived, and it gets very difficult later on, but I enjoyed this for the first 3-4 hours and would enjoy revisiting it.
this game feels like a trip through a land you vaguely remember but you dont understand
I think the double black could be finding the opposite of the word then finding the opposite if the resulting word, below is a spoiler for what I think the "Dark" double black could be:
Dark -> Light -> Heavy
oh i was thinking it would be like Night or something because that's kind of the opposite for light, but heavy makes more sense
please make this a series!
I suggested this a week ago, I don't know if that's what prompted Tyler to play this or not but this is FIRE
The Editor kill this one. Keep up the great Work mate.
Never heard of this game, but the systematization is lovely. Bottom is semantics, middle is grammar (or letter), and top is phonetics (or phonemes/syllables)
I wonder if the two big black box of LIGHT could have been double negation, so DARK→ LIGHT → HEAVY
Green is a very curious case indeed
the green maze section was so much fun, can't wait for tyler to faff around in that part
Lingo is SOOOO GOOODDD. Please keep playing it!!
7:33 HITS uh obviously S**T
Makes me cracked up every time 😂😂😂
This game feels like there could be a jumscare at any given moment
The editing around 10:00 is fantastic
The whole time I was thinking "This game looks a lot like Antichamber" then you went around that pillar. This game must be inspired by Antichamber.
Cool game! Would be interested in more!
I noticed that opposite colors tend to have opposite effects. Green is rhymes with, purple is starts similar. Red is contains, blue is composes part. Black is similar things and white is opposite things.
Idk if anyone remembers this game, but back in 2017, there was a word game called mumbojumbo on the app store and google play, and it was one of the most interesting games ever. It was basically a turn based rpg but your attacks were based on words. It was such a cool game with its unique idea, and i think it is a hidden gem that was skipped over.
your editor's humor is unparalleled
Very interesting so far!
Finally omg i have been waiting for lingo for so long, i can not contain my excitement
I can't explain it, but this might just be my favorite game on this channel on a while
Technically a beekeeper is an insect herder, and if beekeepers would like to single themselves out I'll buy them a drink.
I love this I'm constantly trying to guess it before you!!
This game totally reminds me of antichamber, no idea if there is any real correlation but I like the vibe of that.
This makes me unreasonably happy to see.
amazing game ready for more!
This game looks so dang cool! Would love to see this series continued while waiting for Chants of Sennaar
I thought Chants was finished ?
@@nr23579 oh yeah you’re right my bad
That first look at e the "close" is the biggest whiff i've seen from you, but you keep doing your best T
I would love to see you do all the puzzles in this game
It probably will take 100+ hours, game is insane
I can usually understand why you might not get a certain puzzle, but this one found me facepalming when you literally said "ice height" out loud and didn't get it lol.
this was a fun video, looking forward to more of this!
I just want to take a moment and say, your editor is hella funny! Like, I really like them!!!
seeing redraw appear in an aliensrock video is like seeing an old friend again
real ones remember
smartest man alive looks at word close;
doesnt think of the word open
"REWIND"
Tyler: "this word is 🌬️"
I saw the first two minutes of this video, sprinted to get this game, and played it for four hours straight.
This game gives me vertigo, not from the puzzles, but from the control.
I love that occasionally you unlock like RPG character titles. The Bold. The Travelled.
I have no idea if this is true its just my interpretation so far. Also please continue this.
The double black box with "dark" is gonna end up being "heavy" since the opposite of dark is light, and the opposite of light is heavy
This feels a lot like Antichamber, I love it!
New video. New series. Let’s go!
This game reminds me of a great little puzzle game called LOCK. It was made in dreams on ps4. Its about getting 4 letter words from contextual or environmental clues or from different types of puzzles. If you have access to a ps4/5 and the game dreams you should really give it a try. It also reminds me a bit of The Witness
I was gonna say this is Antechamber but words, and I'm here for this kinda chaos
That double black one at the end might be
Heavy because the opposite of dark is light and the opposite of light is heavy
Bro this game is a fever dream
Near the start of the video: Huh, this seems kinda like Antichamber
A few minutes later: Ok, this is a LOT like Antichamber
More pls I love this game
Tyler missed an alternate solution to the red needle puzzle. You can also use the word "Led".
Ned led an eel to the end den
