Tyler this is very important; now that you're on level 2, you are not STUCK on level 2. If you want to go back to level 1 to finish it off, you can go back to it from the menu.
Replying to hopefully signal boost your comment.
He probably doesn't want to scour the labyrinth for a few extra puzzles, especially after that last section
There's also a level 1 puzzle behind a pillar, but this may be an updated feature
Something tells me Tyler has little motivation to fully complete this game.
@@Scuuurbs Honestly, I don't doubt it. It's fun for the first bit, then gets tedious fast.
watching tyler with those high black puzzles was so frustrating lol. im sure he’ll get it eventually
I thought it was easy to figure out "you need to say it backwards, not read it backwards" but everybody's brain works differently
Bottom is concept wise, middle is letters wise, top is sounds wise. He's still treating it as letterwise lol. You're supposed to read out the sounds in reverse order.
@@dojelnotmyrealname4018 "Phonetics, Glyphics, Semantics", as I like to call them because they're nice and rhymes

I like how he knows high blacks are "reverse the syllables" but fails to figure out how the syllables are pronounced in the first place (TAME > EMIT)
No? T-Ay-Mm > Mm-Ay-T
Tame to Mate.
@@Carma281 he's talking about how tyler did it
Yeah why is he always starting the guess with words starting with "E"... there's no "E" at the end of those words sounds...
When you are native speaker, you don't really have good understanding how your language works. And that's true for every language. For me (non-native) those were very simple
@@mapron1 That isn't about being native or not, but about if you internalise and break it down or not. Natives do tend to not do that, but anyone that has actively learn a language instead of just passively absorbing it during young age is going to understand even slightly how phonetics work.
Also, Tyler would cry if he had to decipher Tunic language, since that game's language is entirely phonetic and context-dependant

i have to agree
for anyone wanting a condensed version of how the box heights work:
boxes above eye level deal with pronunciation.
boxes at eye level deal with letters.
boxes below eye level deal with concepts.
each box color has a 100% consistent rule - such as white meaning the answer is the same as the prompt, and red meaning the answer is contained within the prompt - so you just combine the height and color to get the complete rule.
- _white_ *at eye level* = _same_ *letters* (basically the answer is literally just the prompt).
- _white_ *above eye level* = _same_ *pronunciation* (homophones).
- _red_ *at eye level* = the answer's *letters* are _contained in the prompt word._
- _red_ *below eye level* = the answer is *some thing* that is _contained in the thing described in the prompt._
excellent, having a succinct version of this so i dont have to re-solve it in my head every time makes it so much easier to follow lmao
Based. Thank you 🙏
10:50 this is amazing because in your last episode you said "funny enough" before entering this area and accidentally predicted it (at like 19:43 in the previous video) lmao

Game seems to have some quite interesting and challenging puzzles, but all the invisible walls and overall confusing layout for what seems to just be for the sake of having a confusing layout takes away heavily from what would normally be a satisfying chain of puzzle solving. Hopefully there’s some sort of meta puzzle reason or something to at least somewhat make it have a reason
Very agreed. I tried the game out for myself, the puzzle solving is fun but I literally can't find the puzzle to solve since the layout is way too confusing than it needed to be. There are times where I spend literally an hour to find the area that I skipped before since I didn't know the rule at the time.
much of the reason of the hidden walls and layout is because the game is heavily Antichamber inspired (I personally enjoyed this navigation confusion more than I disliked it, but I get it's not for everyone), the 'level 2' at the very end of this video does have less navigation trolling and is better layed out
Just because its based off of a game with bad layout does not make it suddenly good layout.
Does it count as a disruption when it’s just another puzzle to solve?
I've 100%ed this map, sure i got frustrated at the navigation but that's kinda part of the puzzle, makes you form your own map in your head. plus, if that's not your thing there's an optional map later on with just (very hard) puzzles
If it helps anyone, I've so far tried thinking of the puzzles using the phrase: "the answer is/will/will be _(colour rule)_ the word's _(height rule)_". Colours essentially manipulate the prompted word in different ways(and I guess in green's case, its text) . Then the height rules correspond with what aspect of the language itself it's manipulating: pronunciation, construction, and definition.
So a low blue for example, reads as: "the answer will (contain) the word's (meaning)". Contrast that with low red: "the answer will be (contained in) the word's (meaning)". Alternatively, high yellow is: "the answer will (rearrange) the word's (sounds)".
It seem like high boxes tend to have more to do with _sounds_ than sillabus
Like the trend goes
Hight =related to sound
Middle =related to writting
Floor =related to meaning

Reversing phonemes
It's very noticable that the game is a lot about tyler's one weakness when it comes to puzzle games. I'm very interested in how hard it's going to get.
I noticed that too. He called Antichamber a dogshit game in another comment, which is really telling, lol.
tyler forgetting that the e is silent in certain words is hilarious lmao
22:32 OMG, I was stuck on this puzzle for literal months.
So, I got the point that it's about mixing and actual cream rather than its letters but I always thought of Yellow as it being scrambled and I have to _unscramble_ it and was looking for "cream _before_ it's mixed"... I've tried MILK and so freaking many of its products, I can't believe I haven't tried BUTTER.
Have you noticed the flower/gem/fruit area is about -colours?-
Same with stuff like realise/realize
I was a bit surprised that they do not have multiple answers for any of (?) the puzzles picked from a particular reputable dictionary.
@@scientificthesisEach puzzle has a single solution. This is vaguely important because it also likes to re-use words as a kind of hint system.
It's not a perfect design, but things become a bit more refined in later maps.
8:46, I think this is fine because you don't say "tameeee", you same "taym", so that backwards is pretty much "mate"
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's reversing the phonetic pronunciation, not the spelling.
@@technologist4270 The phonetic pronunciation excluding diphthongs (two vowels treated as one like ay [ɛ͡ɪ]), those don't get reversed. Otherwise "tame" would turn into something like "myet"
@@Nikola_M yes, people for some reason dont understand that ey is 2 sounds. Angolphone skill issue
I think for the high black boxes, when you flip it you don't change the sound of the vowels. Or you don't spell it backward and pronounce it, you pronounce it and then reverse that.
6:44 something about Tyler flatly and calmly stating ambiguously threatening words with suspensive music is hilarious, also just having needle there adds another layer...
19:22 he established that the words or numbers were below the panels in the other room but seems to have forgotten entirely about it…
I was hoping he'd notice that The Steady rooms were in a grid, each row corresponding to a different category (fruit, flowers, gems) and each room corresponding to the ceiling colour. Oh well. Also, I'm surprised he hasn't realized that there are a lot of hidden teleporters and such already. That is going to be a fairly major obstacle going forward...
i don't even remember how i learned about the paintings, but this game would be hell without them
A good game designer would’ve made a flower unlock a flower until the flowers are complete, then move on to all the gems, then all fruits. Unlocking them randomly with some being held behind a one-way door is either dogshit game design or intentionally annoying, your pick.
You learn about the paintings from the eye near/far if I remember right. And for colors, I literally never noticed the categories, just bashed out colors from the ceiling, there's too much moving around to easily notice the categories I feel.
@Aliensrock this game seems interesting in concept but its done in such a way where everything is confusing and annoying, from traversing the world to finding the actual solutions to the puzzles
@@Aliensrock Level 2 has much less navigating annoyances
As someone who's finished a good solid chunk of Lingo at this point, it's fascinating watching the order Tyler's going about solving it in. Also very weird how quickly he's picking up on things (that took me FOREVER to get, looking at you GREEN PUZZLES) and how slow he is on things that I thought were obvious, as well as all of the rooms he's found so far that I genuinely believed were late-game content. Just goes to show there's no one way to experience it.
Also, god, yeah, I hated the color grid section. Especially the bit that softlocks you until you reset to the entrance. It's SO ANNOYING.
You don't have to reset to the level entrance, the painting in that room releports you back to that area's entrance.
Also remember he edits. It gives you the illusion that he is fast, but maybe he's not that much faster than you
Tyler's editing is very on point to make it seem like he solves things faster. I mean, not that it's the goal, the goal is to make the video more entertaining, and he does solve some things incredibly fast, but it does have that effect at times. I noticed it recently in Chants of Sennaar that I was playing at a pace just ahead of the videos, having fresh in mind how long some things have to take.
I looooooove this game, despite its occasional frustrations I hope you play more!!
I like the little reminder boxes, since these videos aren't going up in rapid succession it means that rules can be forgotten by the time the next video comes out, makes it much easier to follow along, thank you editor!
I like how the editors liked senaar a lot too, they included a reference in the last couple videos and all for it 😂
8:57 "here's pink"
Looks like purple to me
We all know Tyler never properly learned colors
Hey Tyler! If you want a quick tip for navigating around this game a little faster, read on!
the tip has to do with paintings....
Walk into and jump at a painting, so that it essentially covers your entire view, and a lot of them will teleport you to a specific paired painting of the same type. I.e. a pink flower painting will take you to a pink flower painting!
Despite the occasional unfriendly game design choices, this game is really neat! Looking forward to seeing more
Dan cooked with this episode, 10/10 editing
as someone who has 100% level 1 and 2. I can say that the "navigation is a puzzle" - element got pretty old when you have like 2-3 puzzles left, but overall it was still an enjoyable experience. Level 2 was much less about navigating and was a lot more straightforward. so if you didn't like how level 1 was. you might enjoy level 2 more.
the random cuts back to the LED is so funny
I love that you put a Scene from Drifters, one of my top 10 fav animes at 14:40, when you said shing. Keep up the great work!😊
I need more of this game it's great to watch. Including the frustration lol
just finished most of the base game yesterday, bought it after you dropped your first vid on it, overall it is definitely pretty fun and imo worth 100%ing, there are definitely some puzzles where it gets a little liberal with the applications of the rules, and at times it can be really hard to figure out just where the hell you're supposed to go next, but you eventually somewhat get used to the non-euclidean layout and can somewhat remember how to get to where you wanna go, and there are definitely some clever sections especially after that big counter in the starting room
oooh lingo! This is a weird, but oddly satisfying game to watch.
Still not used to the 9am, but it’s a cool way to start the weekend
one of the few puzzle games i am completly unable to play with my lacking english knowledge (second language)
so very happy i can still experience it in this lets play
I have been playing this game for a while since Tyler's first video and I'm so surprised there's a level 2. I thought I was close to beating the game.
You need like 16 of those achievement panels to beat level 1
Let me tell you: You're NOT close. It just keeps going and going
This is neat. I liked both Antichamber and Chants of Sennar. This is a nice mix of both
I got into this game because of your first video and it shames me to admit that I spent over an hour just staring at my screen and walking away in frustration for the hustling anagram
I’d need to write down these rules I can’t keep it straight
This is probably the best game I've seen you play since Baba Is You!
It's funny when Tyler can't figure out a puzzle, "This puzzle sucks" with an implied, "because I suck"
Holy shit
I really wasn't expecting more content of this game but I'm glad we got more!
Time for some more L E D
Advice: When you get to The Steady gauntlet, look up at the ceiling and see it's color, that will also hint at the answer.
Advice: Running up to paintings can and will teleport you.
after i saw your first video I immediately bought it and finished all the puzzles. Trust me. you're in for a true head cracker
that last area isn't actually made intentionally annoying, there's just a mechanic you haven't figured out yet
Randomly unlocking rooms and keeping some hidden behind invisible walls or one way gates is intentionally annoying. Why not unlock all the flowers, then colours and then gems? Hiding the puzzles behind random invisible walls serves no purpose other than to be irritating. It doesn't make the puzzle any more difficult, it just makes it annoying.
@@gametheory3458 it's not one way, he just doesn't know the way out

i love lingo as much as chants of sennaar, actually.
I have a strong feeling that orange is gonna be combinations of some sort, low orange would be a combination of the objects the word describes, middle a combination of the words themselves, and high would combine sounds
Holy balls the hedge maze words are SO much harder to see with outlines on. Glad I played with outlines off
So hyped for episode 3
Jeez those green ones seem like a colorblind nightmare
This is nuts
It is very fun to watch you play! Even if playing it is probably annoying.
i love watching this gane please continue to play. If the base game is too annoying maybe try icelypuzzles level that they made for you (idk what it's like but i doubt they'd make a bad level)
Tyler, for the high black bloxes:
the "backwards word" can start anywhere IN the word, it doesn't have to start at the actual end (caMe -> Make)
The Impatient puzzle having to be inversed twice was SO smart of Tyler. I know I would have never got that. Maybe I'm just dumb
there's a slight teaser of it earlier when you invert "left" twice to get wrong. before watching the vid I never noticed that the boxes are actually twice the length, meaning u do the rule twice. this actually clears so many things up like how rules can be combined depending on their position or size
25:22 IDK why, but this is just so funny!

Eye Level - relating to the word

Watching someone else struggle to learn this game is very cathartic. Please don't quit, Tyler! The puzzles are worth it!
I love the fact that tyler hasn't figured out paintings yet lmao
High = sound (not syllables!), middle = spelling, low = meaning. This is true no matter the color.
The editor is GOATed
I'm definitely in a similar boat of loving the puzzles in this game, but gave up because the wandering and non-Euclidean stuff wasn't super enjoyable. I do understand that some people enjoy that type of puzzle solving, but I'm here for the word puzzles :P
My day is ment for puzzles
the "backwards two blue" puzzle might have been hi if the game decided to throw lower case letters in to mess with tyler. which would honestly just be funny.
In this episode, Tyler forgets what "silent E" means!
You know Tyler has a lot of fun with these thumbnails...
The politest of terminators
6:39 When you accidentaly speak german. "reisen" (=travel)
Please keep playing this
the 3TPSTAIRS you saw was how you get UPSTAIRS
i noticed for the high black puzzles that if it ends in a vowl you get rid of the vowl before fliping it eg safe -> fas -> face
Black is "reverse" and high is "sounds", which for "safe" leads to ss-ay-ff -> ff-ay-ss
I think it’s easier to do the high black puzzles as reversing the letters of the word then pronouncing it rather then reversing the pronunciation
continue this please
Advice: you can still use copy and paste in the text box.
Just before typing the last letter, Ctrl + A, copy (Ctrl + C), finish the word, then go to the next box and paste (Ctrl + V), then finish the word again.
Yeah, plenty game design issues with this one. From watching 5mn:
Typing 4 times the same thing
Making you move repeatedly between two rooms for one puzzle.
None obvious continuation for the next puzzle.
Lingo without all those hidden rooms would be so good...
If Tyler's editors weren't gigachads I would have abandoned this series so fast. This game is so hard to follow.
