For those of you who are wondering, you don't HAVE to reset the Initial XYZ in the cameras.cfg in order for this to work, however if you don't do this after setting up your views, the camera will automatically spawn outside of the aircraft each time you load up an aircraft. This can be easily overcome by pressing your hotkeys to load the custom views you set, but if you do find this initial camera point to be annoying, you can indeed reset the Initial XYZ back to it's former value.
The purpose of this video is to give a quick and simple way to get wing and cabin views for the PMDG 737.
@MrYorkiesWorld , does this work for all types non PMDG aircraft ?
Thanks for the straightforward video! Much love
PS. for those who couldn't find windows at the top of dev tool like my case, just look under each one until you see an aircraft section inside one of the drop downs. Its there!
I bet if you were down the pub with your mates and pronounced zed as 'zeee', they'd smack you in the face! :o)
Thank you so much for this tutorial.
Fenix got a default view that has been set in the cabin, so it's really easy to pan and move the view to create the new custom wing view.
PMDG however, let me put it this way, they spent a lot of effort to make a beautiful cabin, BUT in order to set a custom view in the cabin you have to go through all those things, this is just ridiculous.
Hey good to hear your voice again missed you Yorkie!
Thanks very much! 🙂
Thanks for this video!!
hi very good tutorial.. it also works on the 737-800 thank you
This is awsome, thank you! I loved everything about it, except you pronouncing zed as 'zee' when your British!!! Hahaha
Love for that!!❤️
Best tutorial for this that I have seen. Thanks.
This was so easy yet exactly what I needed!
Amazing and very very helpful!!! Thank you so much!
Nice to see you back at it lad
Cheers mate!
Removing 40 from the first number at the “eye point” line makes things even easier, no need to go into developer mode and you spawn with the camera centered in the airplane instead of outside
doesnt work
dude piss off u just messed my sim up. thank you dude.
thanks very helpful video.
thanks for the help bro appriciate u man
Perfect, thanks!
No problem!
Thanks so much!!!🔝🔝
AMAZING!! Working well thanks
No problem, thanks very much! :)
Thank you so so much
No problem!
Thx didnt know if this method worked with this aircraft, now i do
No problem!
Thank you very much for this really helpful.
No problem, glad I could help! 🙂
Hello, thank you very much for your video. I'm making those changes, but just for a moment the view goes out of the cockpit and back inside and doesn't let out
does this not work anymore?
when I reload the plane in the sim, the camera briefly spawns outside but then is put back in the cockpit and I can't go outside.
nice trick dude... 👍
Thank you for this tutorial MrYorkiesWorld. It is really well done. I just got the PMDG737-700 a few days ago, and I was looking forward to setting up the wing views as per your video. Unfortunately ,I got to the point of zooming toward the cabin, but couldn't get get any closer than the outside of the windows. I've tried using the mouse to zoom inside, also the "+" on the keyboard, but to no avail. Can you suggest anything please? andy
I loved the video and works for me. However, small nitty pick thing for me is that when you look outside so for example doing a view outside looking at the plane, it is quiet like inside the plane instead of hearing the plane roar. Is there a way to fix this?
Nobody have a solution? It's my problem too ...
Idk why but I can’t find my hot keys anyone know where to find them?
Lol it to be very complicated then compared to xplane .. yeah i switched from X plane to Msfx 2020( temporary) for the scenery .
I have no community folder....
I made something wrong, and need to reset everything to do it again. Is it possible?
I'm doing this for the 800. Went to camera.cfg set the initialxyz to 5. Developer mode load aircraft. Still loads inside the cockpit.
Figured it out. It has to be InitialXyz under [CAMERADEFINITION.0] to work.
when going outside the aircraft around 1:30 only my cockpit shows up not the fuselage
When I start my plane, I always start in the free camera shown at the beginning of the video? How do I start in the cockpit? Reset position doesn't help
I did that for the first Time Yesterday.
I used a side panel from saitek to save thé views (external) but it seems that it does not save it when I leave the game and start a New one afterwards.
I kept internal views with cockpit instrument views.
And for external views I am using the save views shortcuts from 0 to 9 ans then I set buttons from the saitek side panel (farming) in order to mâle them correspond. Thé process IS working but yeah... Does not seem to save thé parameter when I start a New flight After leaving the game
Sorry i do have a question..What hot keys did you use and how do i save it.And how did you enter into the cabin please..I have been trying to figure it out but so frustrating.:
This unfortunately does not enable the external audio, right? It still acts as if you're inside the cockpit.
For me yes, have you found a fix for it ?
@@kilani503 Nah unfortunately..
how to reset cockpit view? Back space key does not work any more?
So how do you set the hot keys?
By default, your hotkeys should be:
Save View: CTRL + ALT + Number Key
Load View: ALT + Number Key
However, you can also find out what your hotkeys are by going to the keyboard control settings in MSFS 🙂
When adding the variants (BBJ and BDSF) I don't get new camera.cfg files. I have changed some bindings closed MSFS and reloaded with no joy. My existing profiles (from the 700) work in the variants. Where are they getting those settings without a camera.cfg?
Thanks
Great tutorial! Do you know if there is a variable within the Camera Cfg file to disable the 'slew' view between the different positions? In other words, instant change without the transition. Thanks in advance ;-)
Thanks very much! I’ve often wondered the same thing about the slew effect, but I’ve never been able to find a setting that actually turns this off as it can be quite annoying. I’ll keep looking and get back to you if I find anything! 🙂
@@MrYorkiesWorld That would be great. Tip: You might want to add (textual) your tutorial that users should change the "InitialXyz" value back to 0 (zero) in the Cfg file. You might be overrun with questions / complains about starting outside the cockpit. Good luck with the channel and see you around ;-)
Great video ty for sharing. I was wondering if this method works for the cargo version 737-700 to get vews likes this, Any info on that? ty
Hi Pavlos, yes this method should work with any aircraft in the sim! 🙂
@@MrYorkiesWorld thank you i will give it a shot
Nice Video, THX! Can you tell me something about Streamdeck and PMDG 737? Streamdeck not work with the Camviews. I can only use the Keyboard.
Thanks very much! Unfortunately I don't use Streamdeck and so I'm not sure how you would do this.
Your streamdeck can trigger keyboard macros. Just drag a "hotkey" element from the "Systems" folder into your button grid in the Streamdeck app and tell it what buttons to push.
when i double click on the PMDG 737, it loads me right back into the cockpit and I am unable to travel to the wing view to set it up.
would anyone have any suggestions 😭😭
Is it normal that my sim crash when i reload the plane?
How do you move the camera
Go to your key board and set “translate cockpit view” I have mine set up so when I hold ATL+arrow key, I move in that direction
Do you have to reset the Initial XYZ back to its original value after setting up the views?
The answer is ‘yes’
You do not need to reset the XYZ after setting up the views.
@@MrYorkiesWorld but when I hit 'F' to reset view to default center cockpit it goes outside, so you indeed do need to put the XYZ back to where it was unless you use a custom save view just to center yourself
Unfortunately this isnt working for me. Do you have another method?
same here bud
After your finished modifying the camera.cfg file, can you get out of Developer Mode?
Indeed, once you’ve done this workaround you no longer need to use Developer Mode for the views to work 🙂
How do I move the camera inside plane. I can pan with no issues
In my case I use the arrow keys to move the camera around, although this might be different if you have different keybindings etc.
@@MrYorkiesWorld With the default keybindings, I can't seem to figure out how to move forward and backwards. I can move the camera up, down, left, right with the arrow keys and shift arrow keys to pan around. I am not able to get into the plane to setup the wing views
Do you know how to fix the camera snapping back problem when moving around? I use WASD to move around an when panning with the mouse at a certain point it „snaps“ back!
after you set the wing views in dev mode, do you always have to run the sim in dev mode to get the wing views?
Developer Mode is only needed in order to reload the aircraft after editing the cameras.cfg, so that you don’t have to restart the sim in between, so you can disable this afterwards 🙂
@@MrYorkiesWorld thank you sir
No problem! 🙂
I have a weird little problem, when I have pushback done and about to start the taxi my airplane won’t move even when all brakes are realesed don’t know if it’s a bug or something with the toolbar pushback? I use a Xbox controller but that doesn’t matter I guess?
Hi Albin, if this is in the PMDG 737, have you tried going into the FMC and removing all ground equipment by pressing the “Wheel Chocks” to off? I had a similar issue but this seemed to fix it.
@@MrYorkiesWorld Yes this is pmdg 737, yeah before I requested pushback I removed wheel chocks in the fmc. 🤔
@@albinnilsson711 Did you try disabling the nose wheel lift option in the Toolbar Pushback settings by any chance?
@@MrYorkiesWorld No i haven’t tried that, do you think that could be the problem?
@@albinnilsson711 I’ve had a quick search around online and it seems that could be a possible fix for now, and hopefully the Toolbar Pushback developer will have an update to solve the issue in future 🙂
When I double click on the aircrft im put back into the cockpit and cant move outside it...
Same
MSFS sucks. So many workarounds to make PMDG work LOL
