So what do you think? What are you most excited for? Or perhaps do you think they missed something?
I am excited to never see stretched vertical textures. However, seem to have missed fixing the shoreline reflections glitch. I was really hoping that the ray tracing would be implemented for reflections, but from watching test footage it still seems like (not very good) raymarched reflections are still being used.
Thank you twotone !! I have to rely on you if they missed something or not... missed something terribly important atleast to this flightsimmer : a simple, easy to use, one click instant "FLY-BY CAMERA".... Already the most blatant missing option in MSFS2020, atm i fear the're missing out on that most spectacular camera view again !! Please tell me that's not true, TT !
Thanks Mr. Twotone O'Murphy. Quick questions on loading times. I understand downloading stuff from the cloud real time on start up. But, Safe Mode boots me up in under 3 minutes while loading all my 3rd party addons equates to 18 minutes. Every quote from every source I've heard about MSFS 2024 loading time seems to focus on the vanilla game with no explicit mention of indexing all our 3rd party addons on boot. Is that specific slow down on loading addressed? Are there any built-in content management features ala FSX and FS9 such as layer priority and toggle on/off of scenery packages? Thanks again for the best summary I've seen so far of the little junket to the US. 👍🛩✈👍
All I can think of with the damage to aircraft......bring on the landing challanges of old @twotonemurphy , it will be hillarious 🤣
@@twotonemurphy do you know if they included “bird strikes”?
About bloody time! Wellk-done Murph.
Thanks so much mate - its gonna be a good winter!
Aviator edition. 125 aircraft is INSANE! Take my money, Asobo
thanks Murph! unbelievably hyped for this release, it almost feels like the leap from FS10 to 2020 all over again
But will cities still look melted at low altitude? Will cars still drive under bridges instead of on? Will some highways still look green? These are the answers I want before I purchase.
@@johnwicks4936 - exactly! And LOD and stutters.
Its getting better - but it depends on the data - I didnt notice anything mad with cars - but I suspect there might still be issues
Nope. Just selling you a cloud based service and mission scripting which should already be in the current active title
@@UndercoverPirate69 thats not the only thing?
@@UndercoverPirate69 That's literally all you got from this video?
Now, I wasn't planning on getting MSFS2024 because I thought'd be too similar to MSFS2020 which I have, but my God am I tempted to get it now.
Incredible overview, you caught that CL-415 on the water beautifully! Always good to see you my friend
Thank you so much mate, it was awesome seeing you!
what a Murph ! that some serious murphage, didn't expect that, thanks
So if DX12 is a minimum, 8GB VRAM will run out very quickly, or is this not the case...
Great video, looks very promising and exciting. Hope they fine-tune the AI voices though 😂
Can you imagine if Microsoft had shot down the idea of restarting the flight sim. We would've never known just how awesome it could get. This sim is flat ass unbelievable compared to what was available before 2020.
You wrote this on multiple vids, nice bot
@@brandonchappell1535 I'm really excited for the new sim and watched several videos on it and made the same comment. I guess it could look like a bot, but it's not.
@@dannymoore8785 all gd bro, im pumped too, an i agree, its increble what they achieved !! Whenever i try explain the tech to people i sound like a crazy person haha
Enhanced VR and MR support, flight lessons that work with force feedback yokes and rudders, improved flight model. These are the things I am excited for. I hope they are included.
this can't come soon enough! Amazing video.
Despite all the bells and whistles MSFS will remain a "lonely" experience. Nothing mentioned about ATC/traffic interaction which is a HUGE part of flying.
@@jingle1161 uhm tbf vatsim is there for us
You will just get the same buggy talk loop clicky copy pasta from the previous title. They already can get good mission scripting in the current title as well. Some needed quality of life fixes are literally paid 3rd party addons... They just want to sell you monthly subscription based content loading while pretending everyone has installed everything hoarding many terrabytes they don't even use at all. A 2-5 TB local storage is also much cheaper than the combination of expensive internet connection need and subscriptions for access to content content you already paid for
The ATC has seen updates - as have new aircraft models - this includes AI traffic
@@jingle1161 professional pilot here: when I am flying on Flight simulator(s) at home (MSFS, DCS) I just don't want to experience the burden of having to deal with ATC like IRL (when most of the time they are absolutely not helpful) :-)
@@UndercoverPirate69 Umm, there's no monthly subscription to use MSFS 2024, what are you talking about?
Reminds me of the promises made about FSX, many of which failed to appear. The difference this time is that we know so much was in fact delivered in '20, so this has me excited.
Lovely Jovely!! Liked & Shared! Well put together video, thanks Murphy!
Major news! How did you manage to keep the news to yourself that you had a go with msfs2024 ❤
Extreme difficulty lol
Jaysus, I can imagine some of the dodgy banners that'll be created. I've got a few ready to launch 😂
"your name here" is my first one LOL
4:15 - Well Gibbo seems delighted by this news!
Pleasure to meet you at this event! Fantastic video you made and look forward to seeing you again!
Thanks so much mate and was so nice to meet you
Was there any mention of multi camera view support for home cockpit builders. Thank you
Brilliant stuff Murph looking forward for tomorrow.
This is the most complete preview of FS2024 I've seen.
What a great pre-view! Thank you !!!
Thank you so much sir!
So many new things 2024 is going to offer, LOVE IT ALL READY.
Awesome video Murph!! Can't wait, just around the corner. Simming just keeps getting better and better! I'm looking forward to the improved multi-core utilization, graphics, and career mode. Blue Skies my friend!!
Great job Murph, take my money now MS!
Great video Murph, Would be good if you could ask what the minimum download speed will needed for this to run smoothly Cheers
They've published the specs. Minimum is 10mbps, recommended 50, ideal 100
Great overview! Quite excited :D
Thanks Microsoft for bricking all WMR VR headsets as of Windows 11 24H2 update without so much as an apology. Real commitment to your flightsimmer base right there.
Thank you Murph! Great report! Awesome sim!
It looks and sounds amazing, quite a step up from 2020 & I like the idea of renting, which leads me to ask are there are a number of times that you can rent before you lose that privilege or can you rent as many times as you like?
Can we do Branson's balloon ride from Canada to Ireland? Imagine being stuck in a capsule for days with that fecker.
Great presentation Murphy’s. Thanks.
Is the inbuilt training improved?
Nice first glance at the upcoming sim. As we get closer, can you give Microsoft some feedback that it would be nice if they provide a sort of menu of upgrade strategies? For example, I don't intend to keep both simulators installed at the same time, but I don't know if it matters whether or not I remove 2020 before installing 2024, or will the install routine for 2024 look at the 2020 installation and make assumptions as to the hardware I have, 3rd party products, etc. Others may want to keep both products installed and I'm sure they will want to know if there are any tips to doing that in a way that might be more efficient than another way. I'm also curious if programs like Addons Linker will still be required, or even work, if we are trying to save space on our install drive.
damn just take my money
note: you can pre order when its open its not an EA game
Hey how are the specs? I have a i7 14700k RTX4060 32GB 8GBvram. I have that will it run MSFS really well or am I screwed?
The Mountains look incredible. The melted hills were an initial let down for me in 2020, this looks so awesome.
Thanks Murph, appreciated. Any idea on pricing for the different packages? What about add ons that have been purchased for MSFS 2020? Are they just gone in 2024?
Prices are: Standard $69.99 / Deluxe $99.99 / Premium Deluxe $129.99/ Aviator $199.99 | Limited Special Edition $319.79
Cows that move realistically!! All I've ever wanted in a sim. All these pretty scenes OUTSIDE the airplane, which is where I like to be when I'm flying. In other words, they're putting together an amazing ability to make pretty movies. Show we what I'm going to see sitting on my rear in the cockpit.
Performance will be everything.
So the only differences between editions is the number of planes and airports? All other features the same, especially physics and configuration options? Then for more serious simmers that only focus on certain payware planes (ie fenix/pmdg etc) it makes no sense to go for the higher editions.
Pretty much - the base sim is the same across each edition - you only pay for the additional aircraft. However - if you want to engage in missions - it might be a better choice having more aircraft - at least until 3rd party ones are updated - but if not - then the standard version will be just fine
Have to agree, especially with so many aircraft in the Standard Edition, not to mention the rent/ buy options for specific aircraft in the marketplace.
@@twotonemurphy do you know if we can use 3rd party airplanes in missions? or missions are for default airplanes only?
8:40 What’s going on with those trees there… 🧐
Great Video Murph!
Money for old rope anybody? I do seem to be in the minority but as a 'real life' pilot and a long-term MSFS 2020 user with close to 1,000 hours, this doesn't appear to be the step change I was hoping for. Microsoft's marketing department should be given medals as they are going to cash in on a re-badged 2020 with a few add-ons but nothing which makes my jaw drop. Perhaps because I'm more into the simulation aspect rather than the gamification. I don't blame MS for cashing in on XBOX users but I feel there should be a separate arcade version for people who want to be Maverick for a day. I know it will never happen but that's my tuppence-worth. Good video my fellow Murph.
Really great review, insta subbed :)
If you could make Jorg and Seb say YES to "can we have a marshaller to insert for helipads, landings, hooks and more" I will be absolutely greatful :D
LOD draw distance seems bit lacking its early but thinking all of the data on cloud may be the culprit - hope I'm wrong - flying at night with long distance lights is a hope for this version of MSFS - currently not on par with XP imo
I rather have data locally stored than in the cloud hogging my connection creating stuttering of the game and slowly loading gfx's. Not every family has the money for the most expensive connections. If that was the case we would all have airplanes to fly with. You also do not have to install everything at all. Just pick a single continent to focus on and it's easy to keep your installation below 250 Gb. When you do not have unlimited bandwidth it means you will be playing restricted with high cost involved. Buying some extra storage for MSFX would be much cheaper long term. Object container streaming to free up RAM for running the engine is also nothing new. Loading with standard internet connections is also much slower than the slowest RAM you could buy
I see nothing in this engine they cannot do with the current game already and sell it as a DLC. I notice many stock airplanes aren't even fully finished while we all slammed 100+ Euro for it on the table. Why doesn't the current simulator have a good mission generator and game functionality for is staggering. 20-30 Euro for a flight route and 10-15 Euro for having lights at a single airport? seriously?? The current light sources are also just randomly placed hovering orbs
Many gfx are just very bulky in size but around actual quality it's more like the typical 1999 video game. Looks fine from a distance but you go back in time 25 years when you zoom in. Every fuel station and push back service is just a single copy paste hack with humans being 3x the size of a normal airplane door. The ATC is a hot buggy mess, taxiing is very bugged, the live weather doesn't correspond or is simply not available due to other bugs. How many time are you forced t go around because the open world map creates simulations starting ON runways constantly going back to ridiculous defaults no single motherflower is even using but you need to set them constantly like remembering menu settings still needs to be invented. They will just do a copy pasta with some 'new' gimmicks and sell it as new at full price
The dev teams are always investigating issues but when I go to the Development Update pages it just says "No updates" everywhere which is staggering and now they want to launch an entire new title mothballing the current title we all spend out hard earned money on. Do I really need to spend 150 Euro again and buying my favorite aircraft costing a few 100 as well again just because they updated the mission generator, added general basic mission scripting and wanting to sell the game as a cloud based service with a subscription at some stage??? When these devs talk about clouds it's always about selling subscriptions
No wonder nobody is fixing anything anymore on the current live version because the publisher announces something fake new they already have. I think this is a huge farce because gfx or content wise they are not going to bring anything new to the table they should not have have already implemented in the current simulator. Why not just offer an extensive mission generator with a menu share section instead of a hand full of mission designers selling routes you could already create yourself letting you pay serious money for it. It would spark an entire wonderful pool of player created free mission content the vast majority would really like
Sorry for the wall of text. Normally don't do that but damn I needed to get this off my chest because I'm not willing to hype into this title when they leave behind an unfinished title on the table we all spend serious money on and ad nothing that should not already been in the current title. They just dumped the current simulator for no reason at all. Object container streaming is also already in use now in hybrid form between local content and cloud content. Now the result is that nobody including 3rd parties is putting any dev time into fixing bugs or finalizing their products anymore. I mean the F/A 18 doesn't even have a basic GPS map on the HUD or the A320 v2 you paid for is pretty much not fully functional due to fuel and mass load being restricted by a paid 3rd party web tool and a buggy flight computer
I appreciate the comments mate and I see where you are coming from. The issue they have with data - its the size. Too many things in the sim. Streaming what you need - when its needed - and then giving the sim space on your drive via cache seems to be a good idea. If you fly in the same area - you'll be using very little bandwidth as its already cached.
As for missions - some are available today via 3rd party - but they needed to build the infrastructure to support it
As for costs of updates/new sims - they are at the end of the day a business - and a cash injection for a new platform will hopefully go a long way to further development
Well I like ore caching. Hopefully it will be persistent if you only fly same area / route all the time ?
yep - if you stick to the same area - it will stay on your cache
This is verging on a being a flight simmers wet dream.
The features that this has are just superb.
Roll on November.
Would be nice having real life liveries and aircraft on AI and multiplayer aircraft. Also, ATC regional voices. Having an American ATC at Manchester airport is a bit of a killer experience (Xbox user)
Love it! Take my money please!!!!
Is there going to be a shared career industry over multiplayer? That would be sweet to have like 5 people to all pitch on an airline.
Outstanding Job Murphy!
Looks good. Do you know if the Pilot/ATC interaction will have regional accents or will it be a similar format as 2020?
Excellent review! Thank you. Will the sim be backward compatible with, say, the Fenix A320 and all other third party add ons?
yes sir! They will feature a 2020 flight model - devs can chose to update to a 2024 model if they wish - but either way - they will work
@@twotonemurphy thanks Murph!
Great review!
What are your HW specs on that last scene when you load a flight from Dublin to Shanon with a 737?
That was using their hardware - 4070 was the card in use
@@twotonemurphy thank you! do you recall what CPU was there by any chance?
Tex Costello is back on duty 🤣
You earned my subscription today.... beautifully detailed information. I'm currently waiting for my Pimax Light to arrive from China while giving my RTX 4090 a 2k upgrade in anticipation of November's MSFS 2024 launch. Best man toy ever invented!!!
I need me one of those! Thanks so much for watching!
Question for Jorg. I have the Premium Deluxe version of 2020, does this mean if I bought the standard edition 2024, id still have the 787 in 2024 because I already bought it in the 2020 version?
@@Eammon-vw9rv he answered this ages ago, yes you’ll keep your planes from 2020
@@Tuskin38 other people have said the PD 2020 787 aircraft will not be the same as the PD 787 aircraft, so who knows what will transpire.
I also want to know, does October 10th look different from October 20th? Or are seasons only presets? When will they fix the weird water reflection? Will they fix the problem where trees don’t match Satellite imagery in rural areas?
Hi Murph, great vid 24 looks brill, one question How Much ?
Hardware: whats the ideal specs (especially for VR), multithreadding? Purpose of e.g. Ryzen 7 7800X3D to Ryzen 9 9750X3D. Haptic support (e.g. buttkicker), file structure (community folder for 3rd party addons?), loading airports without restarting sim (when using symlinks like add-on collector), Airtraffic, ATC, Radio to other players (I think there are some rumours)
Will 4 inches of snow actually look like 4 inches of snow, or will it continue to leave large patches of green? Can the plane land in a whole foot of snow?
Has the collision mesh/boxes that prevents exploring the interiors of the handcrafted airports from world updates with the drone camera been removed in MSFS 2024?
As I do like exploring interiors from time to time with the drone camera as well as glancing at them from my plane’s cockpit.
Love this! I'm just not sure the career mode will overtake my love for OnAir, but it's a great starting block.
Lookin' Outstanding! Great Job TTM!
Thanks so much mate! Excited to see your lineup in MSFS24
Really informative video. You packed so much useful info in such a short video. Thanks for this
It’s nice to see MFS finally getting alot of features that the other two sims have 👍🏻
Phenomenal Murphy! Thanks for the early look!
Thank you so much! Can't wait to see and hear SI in MSFS24
Hey murph - thanks for the detailed insight - as an xboxer, do you know if they will have a flight replay from various angles?
Thanks.... Most comprehensive review since announcement/ update
If i preorder and the msfs2024 doesn't work on my computer then will I get my money back?
I’m a casual summer - When I first played FS 2020, a lot of the jets were easy to fly with the LNAV…and you can set your flight plan in the main menu then they updated them to be more realistic and made it harder for the casual. Is the free play still enjoyable for casual summer?
Yes - Free flight is still much the same
Excellent "quick look" ..thanks😃👍
If we've already purchased the additional 30 Microsoft published aircraft from the marketplace in MSFS2020 is there any reason to buy the Aviator edition or the right choice would be the Premium/Deluxe Edition?
im very excited for this game but how do you think this game will run for people with lower to mid end pc’s? im not sure what cpu i have but i have a gtx 1660 super and 16gigs of ram and the current MSFS stutters at times like when getting close to mid and large sized airports
Im Real Prívate Pilot. I will wait to know if the flymodel is better than FS2020 or equal. I still remember the terrible experience when I bought the FS2020 with several chashes to desktop every time when it was launched. This is my recomendation for the comunity. Wait wait!
If one crash, do one get injuries, like head trauma, and need hospitalization, with a hefty bill?
Hi i have a question, this new sim all looks great and everything but there is no infor i can find on what is available on xbox amd what is available in pc. For example all the planes have EFB's is that for xbox too ? Theres a cool new flight planner where you can access charts and all that stuff which leads me to believe these plans will be available in the flight as well through the tablet is this also the case for xbox ? Because 2020 the differences in accesability to charts, good flight planners, EFB, were astronomical, like you couldnt plan a flight well with the default on xbox however pc were able to have all sorts of things available.any info on this would be massivley appreciated thanks.
Any news on multi crew cockpit ?
Love they got Stephen Hawking to do the instructor voice over!
Will this be vr compatible
yes sir
Cautiously excited! The devil will be in the detail. I'm sure this won't be a perfect sim like some people are wishing for (I doubt we'll ever reach that), but this is certainly more than FS2020 "tarted up a bit". I love a lot of the new features, and where there are things they haven't really improved (e.g. ATC) at least we have third parties making some big strides in those areas to fill in the gaps. Also what's exciting is what third parties will be able to do with some of these new features and how much further they'll be able to take things in the next 4 years (or however long it is until the next version).
big question is, are my msfs2020 addons compatible in msfs 2024??
Yes sir
depends. Not all will be compatibel from 3rd party at the beginning. As I understand e.g. airport because of the differences in e.b. height) needs to be updated to be ready for 2024. Marketplace objects they said, will be updtaed to 19th of November. All other.....will see. And some will be useless or not needed anymore
How does it run on your system compared with msfs?
As I understand it, this preview is based on an invitation-only event MS/Asobo held about a week and a half ago involving a few dozen content creators and well-known members of the flight sim community. Not sure any of them have copies on their own machines yet.
Not sure yet - but the rig I used to test it was less powerful than mine
@@LeftyLabs Thanks, yes I just learned it was invite only. Looks promising though I'm trying to keep my expectations low.
@@twotonemurphy Sounds promising. I'm vr only so performance is key for me.
@@68sixgun 3D Pilot has put out a review as well that you may be interested in, with more to follow.
Greetings from Carlow !
hello hello!
Nice video! May I ask your pc specs? How well did MSFS2024 ran?
1.5 magnification, black rimmed.
AHJ So hyped for this release. Feels like throw back in time to 2020. Great stuff Murph! As always! Wonder what the 30 MSFS2020 included in the Aviator edition are.
Having dust l from jet wash, cows & roaming animals is all fine, but will it stutter coming into land? Will it have any half decent atc? Will night lighting & airport night lighting gonna be better than some dark alley like 1870’s, will there be shared cockpits built in, loading from cache may have stutters hopping for the best but I reserve judgment as much missing on launch so will see how it looks after a few months I guess 🤔 if they start charging Ubisoft prices cannot believe there doing the 4 packs again, if you cannot pay difference and upgrade later it sucks
That's Mike PATEY (long A) ... like "Aviation"
Does the in-sim ATC work more like Beyond ATC, or Say Intentions, now? Or, is it still menu driven? Thanks for the look at FS2024. :)
Looks menu driven mate
The elephant in the room........
Thanks Murph, did you see anything on Multiplayer?
No changes to the core system- they have added more aircraft models to help with model matching but that’s about it for now
Awesome stuff! Can't wait to give it a spin :)
Looks awesome... Thanks Murph.
Thanks for that Murph.. one question.. do you see ANY improvement in night time? I still think 2020 night is too basic and blobby - I'm running 3 monitors at 4k btw.. thanks...
Yep - they have enhanced night lighting over cities
@@twotonemurphy How so if I may ask? Higher resolution? Color differences? Darker textures? Thanks Murph!
No word on what the aviator additional aircraft are??
What about binding UI?!
1:10 I hope that's not what the terrain looks like, because it's jacked up. 😬
My biggest question is can we still popout the panels and did they add touch screen capability this time.
From what I saw, yes we can pop out the panels - didnt see touch capabilities with them though
Nice one. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
