Jokes aside, it was a very painful weapon to use at the beginning but after around 100 usages, I started having fun with it ahah, eventually I'm quite happy with the result :)

Once you master insect glaive, it really does feel like a majestic dance every fight.
Once you master great sword there is no fight
Once you master longsword you become anime
Once u master gunlance you become a Risen Valstrax
Every weapon mastered Is awesome 💞
Once You master Heavy Bowgun, You become a living tank
Once you master lance, the monsters can’t hit you
This is what i imagine the dragoons in final fantasy should feel/look like in an action setting. So majestic.

Man, y'all missing out. I 100% recommend Insect Glaive. Slap some Constitution +3-5 on your standard blademaster set (AB, CB, WEx, etc), slide your skills around to get perfect affinity (not difficult w Narga glaive's comfy comfy 40% affinity), and go clean house.
I love aerial IG. It's my favorite weapon and playstyle, and it's not even remotely close.
+1 highly recommended, I wish I didn't wait so long to try it. They did a really nice job with glaive in Sunbreak. My main now 🚁
As a hh main I can't figure this weapon out even if my life depended on it but that doesn't mean I don't love the fellow hunters who identifies as apache helicopters
So much style! I won't even attempt the harder monsters with Insect Glaive but it's a treat to watch someone that can.
I've been an IG main since its debut in 4U. The skies are too addictive
Man I swear theres nothing more satisfying than getting the KO/head break/tail cut with the final dive slam. You land with such for that breaking something with it just feels right.
Teostra: I am a giant flying manticore that commands flames and explosions.
Hunter: I got a stick with a knife duct taped to it and a butterfly. Let's do this.

I almost always play without HUD because I'm afraid I would waste some good clips ahah,
The only exceptions are when I learn a weapon at the beginning or when I discover a new monster ;)

Finally, my main the Insect Glaive. I have been waiting for this for a very long time. Never has the ground looked so unappealing. Rathalos got nothing on the real king of the skies.

Im new to the series. Picked up dual blade for the first 10 hours, which are fun, but seem a bit more limiting in terms of mobility that what I would have expected. So I went to the training range and tried new things. As soon as I saw the insect glaive was entirely based on being in the air, I fell in love.

I’d consider myself pretty good at IG but I still didn’t know that you could aim where you launched yourself when using midair moves. You learn something new everyday
It’s a very powerful move considering you can also get your extracts by launching yourself at the correct parts
You considered wrong
It takes practice, but you'll get it eventually
But that's half the fun, avoiding any attack with careful spacing! Try it against Teostra, it's especially fun to mess with him.
For those that don't understand. IG has a special mechanic (new to Rise) that if you jump as many times as you can in the air then does a wirebug dive, this move dish out the most damage possible. Damage is proportional to how many time you bounced. The max is three.

I usually only pick up the bug stick when I’m playing it with a team of four the the ol’ powder boom strat. I laugh every single time I see one of those explosions hit about as hard, if not harder than what a Greatsword can. But just like with every weapon you’ve done a video on, you make me instantly want to pick it up for myself because of the example you set

A bit complicated, I used a lot of different builds and some clips were even recorded at TU0 so it changed a lot :/
I just started playing monster hunter rise for the first time ever playing a MH game and I absolutely fell in love with the Insect glaive, it reminds me of legend of Dragoon when they turn into dragoons and do their full combo. So badass. At first I was confused and thought it was a shit until I figured out how to string together the air combos and then recently unlocked the wire bug finisher.

I feel so powerful using the IG, killing every base game and MR monsters first try but then I use any other weapon and get humbled real quick

That's really good. What skill sets do you have equipped? I just discovered Insect glaive a couple days ago and I love it. It's so much more fun than any other weapon when you get the hang of it. Dual blades Aerial style is my second favorite.

What’s most upsetting about this is knowing 95% of what’s shown in this vid won’t exist in the next game without wire bugs which is a shame because no other weapon benefitted from reinventing itself as much as glaive did

I think you are talking about the advancing roundslash? it works pretty much like a parry: if you time it with the monster's attack you will be launched in the air with 1 "charge" of diving wyvern
I'm a master at hammer, great sword and switch axe user. I've never tried Insect Glaive before maybe I'll give it a try, it looks beautiful and satisfying to watch 💙

Genuine question. I see a lot of people here including you saying picking up glaive is rough or difficult. Glaive is my favorite weapon and honestly I feel like I’m cheating with how no frills the combos are. Can I ask what people find difficult about it? I’m not insulting, I have weapons I’m terrible with or find frustrating too, I just want the perspective:
Starting insect glaive can be overwhelming, there’s multiple mechanics to consider at once. But, I will argue that once you understand the flow of insect glaive, it becomes pretty easy to use. The combos themselves are simple, it’s moreso understanding how to efficiently grab extract and proper positioning to make the best use of it.
i think that what people find really hard or frustrating about insect glaive is how much you have to manage your resources. you have to manage the kinsect level on your glaive, the kinsect that you use, the type of kinsect, the buffs, both of your stamina and the one of the kinsect on top of the other things such as damage, healing, sharpness etc... i really love insect glaive and i find it the most fun weapon and i, like you dont find it hard but i think that this is the reason of the complexity
I can't speak for others but personally I've always said that in the "insect glaive" I love the glaive but I don't like the insect ahah
When you are taking the weapon for the first time, you can't really practice the moveset because you don't have the buffs, so you first have to collect the extracts then you can hit for a short period of time, then you have to collect again (Sunbreak made it a bit easier with the new aerial switch skill though) which can be very tedious when you are not used to it
@@Mikarai I never thought about it like that. Grabbing the extract is easy but if you’re a new player you don’t even necessarily know what it is you’re practicing so having to grab the bug could be very annoying since you just wanna figure out your basic moveset. Thanks for the insight!

I could always tell that it was the coolest weapon in the game...I just lack the dexterity to do all the cool stuff with it.
Charge blade looks complicated but it's actually not because everything flows into eachother

Hey there I play all the weapons and usually focus on like 5 of them ; in sunbreak that just released on ps and xbox I play LS , CB , HH , SA and as the last weapon I wanna pick up IG any build recommendations?

Insect glaive in sunbreak tu5 feels a bit like MH4. Just fuck you're attack I'm on the z-axis
I gave the weapon a go but theres something i couldnt work out. When attacking in the air i could only do the bit where you launch yourself forward and ofc the ground slam being y and b on xbox but how do you do the one where you glide slowly down twirling the thing around you ?
I think you are talking about the Switch Skill? one is the Kinsect Slash and the other is the Jumping Advancing Slash if I recall correctly
Of you are talking about jumping advancing slash/helicopter, you need the red (1) buff and press the right face button (B on xbox) while in the air

So, I played through all of Rise and Sunbreak using Insect Glaive. This video made me think to myself, "Damn, I really suck at Insect Glaive."
i tend to use the powder vortex alot, especially with that new deco gem that they added, it boosts all damage from your kinsect. feels like im playing some kind of explosion mage, build up atleast 2 clouds and explode 💥

Insect Glaive was the first weapon I really started using when I began in World, and ever since then, Insect Glaive has been my main weapon of choice. Sure I've picked up other weapons later on, I play a little bit of everything now, but when I'm playing seriously, I always go back to Glaive. It's what I beat Alatreon with, it's what I beat Fatalis with, it's what I beat the HR Challenge Valstrax with, and it's what I use whenever a monster gives me trouble with another weapon.

Is the lightning on your arms a more orangish color than it normally is? Also what skill gives you the orange glow on the shoulder?
The glow on the shoulder is the extracts, I'm not sure about the one on the arm though
@@Mikarai I didn't think the extracts made your shoulder glow? It looks like latent power or bloodlust but instead of red or blue it's orange, it looks cool lol. What all skills are you using?

Incest Glaive is the scariest flying wyvern, glad I'll never have to cart from it.
In other action games, you juggle the enemies in the air. In Monster Hunter, you juggle yourself.

it's not a parry. you forward A with uhh I forgor the name of the switch skill and if sn enemy hits you in that animation you go up

Just a build with the classic offensive skills (Attack Boost, Weakness Exploit, etc...) + some stamina management should be a good start !
Best weapon. Hands down.
