Hi, thanks for the positive comment. It’s typical, when I damaged it I was going slow with hardly any throttle. The damage was a smashed dog clutch that then damaged bevel gear teeth. Knowing what I know now it was never going to be a bush fix, even if I had tools with me. Ah well, a good adventure anyway.
Excellent video mate. Bummer about the damage to the gearbag. I hope it wasn’t too big a repair/bill. Creating memories with your son - priceless Hehe, I go to Numurkah a bit & from there go to Berruga? Over the river from Cobden & play mini golf with my mate. Cool course 👌⛳️ How good is tinnie life ☺️ I love my little boat. Been tempted to take it for a spin up there too. Usually venture to Blue Rock Dam or Port Albert direction. Cheers for posting up 🍻
Blue rock dam looks good, I just had a google. Great memories, once it got dark it wasn’t all smiles, lots of “paddle harder” “keep it straight”, we were beat and over paddling, but it’s all part of the fun. I got quoted $1800 for the gearbox rebuild, the dog gear had shattered and taken some bevel gear teeth too, so I bought the parts $460 and repaired it myself. 9 weeks for some of the parts from Japan. Anyway, it’s back up and running.
@@TheRuralProject - well done. Yes, $1800 is a lot when you look at what’s in a gearbox… I managed to find a spare engine same as mine at a garage sale for $50 👌
@@Party-Marty and when I asked him how much for that motor and pointed to a 2nd hand one ( very similar ) and he said $2200 I only paid $7000 for the boat, trailer and motor. Go figure. $50 is a bargain, gotta keep your eyes open for those steals.
@@TheRuralProject 3.7m here $1500 all up. Been an awesome boat. My engine is only 15hp & early 1990’s I think. Skoots along good for what it is. Spare is 15hp early 1980’s. Mostly identical. It runs but has some tiller control problems.
Hi, the stainless ones are from Frank Marine, check out his catalogue on line, he can point you in the right direction for a local supplier. The black plastic ones are from Berkley. Thanks for watching.
Mornin' Chris, Outstandin' adventure indeed... At the start I thought you were with Rob Parsons, but then shortly after realized it was yur son... Yeah, I think It's killer to break-up the monotony and do somethin' different. Nice lil trip up the mighty Murray, A lil drama and a touch of suspence makes for a wicked cool video... Beautiful country Mate, do the water systems have more than carp??? Or is that all you happened to land in that trip??? Ya know while I was watchin' I noticed you didn't have a trollin' motor, kinda nice to have for those snaggy, and low spots in the river... I'd like to aquire somethin small to go out on the lakes round here, I think that would be pretty sweet... Well... you'll have to do somethin' like that again, A lil Aussie adventure. Far-out brother,... you stay cool and keep pushin' on,... Peace...
Hey gringo The Murray has some huge Murray cod, yellow bellies and plenty of other fish. The carp are just my fallback fish when I’m getting nothing else……. Always catch a carp on sweetcorn, bread or worms. A trolling motor is in the list of toys to get. It would make a massive difference. Thanks for watching and positive comments.
@@gringopines3476 - love a Rob & Levi video myself. Decent blokes that have over the years been kind helping me out with advise re: prospecting & gear.
@@Party-Marty just watched a rob parsons video, pretty cool stuff makes it look easy. Getting paid to be outside doing stuff you enjoy ....... hold on, I do that with firewood. Happy days.

Ha ha. Look forward to them. Treasured fish in the uk mate, my family cannot believe we kill them here. They grow to about 60lbs, 27kg. Running a carp fishery is big business in the uk and Europe
Keep paddling, keep paddling. I expected the return trip was going to be slow because you were out of go go juice. I wasn't expecting you to break your boat.
Life is an adventure. Glad you both made it back home safely 😉👍
few blisters and achy muscles, but all part of the adventure. Thanks for watching.
Great video 👍
I always run my outboard tilt unlocked on the river for a better chance if i hit something carry a spare prop

On a positive note, you made it back to the ramp with plenty of fuel in reserve 😂
Ha ha, always a bright side if you look for it.

What about Crocs😳😳😳
No crocs in Victoria, you need to be much further north to encounter them. Thanks for watching.
Fuel usage solved 😊
