You have a responsibility when filming for TV that you demonstrate good and sustainable practices. Instead a beautiful Murray Cod is nearly certainly dying a slow death with a lip grip stuck in its mouth. Unfortunately most fishing shows seem to continue with the practice of not using the lanyards on the lip grips. At least it wasn't edited out and hopefully acts as a lesson of how not to release a fish

Get real you blokes. Bill is 1 of the best fishermen and conservationists the country has. Made a blue with a pair of grips and all you pretenders jump on for a bashing. No idea. Cod are bred and released in record numbers. In all likelihood it will shake off those grips and get on with life. Clueless you lot. Prob never even caught 1
If it has been published on you Tube, then it is out there to see. These days you cannot just ignore that kind of incident. As you stated, so much has gone into returning the cod fishery to what it once was. A mistake in the editing studio i would say. And a good example of why the use of a glove is so much better, especially when handling them over water.
poor bloody fish.. very surprised they didnt edit that out!
I grew up here in the 70s. The cods were way larger then. Plus redfin in the canal system.
Good video mate❤
Glad you enjoyed it
And that's how you don't release a fish.
He must have dementia and forgot what the lanyard was for.
Any information on the kayak?
It was a Hobie Pro Angler 14

I was just thinking put the lanyard around your wrist and then ofcourse you let a fish go with the grips still on 🤦🏻

poor fish @10:10 should of just lipped him.
Well that fish is dead now no brains bill
Lip grippers gone @10:10! Use of a glove would have been preferable.
Or plastic lip grips, they come off easily and don’t weigh down the fish
First
That fish is dead now😢

I don't get how fishermen get a free pass when it comes to animal cruelty. Why do you think they fight so hard when they're hooked?
