Ironically, my two favorites, by far, are the Green Russian and the FAB. They're at nearly the opposite tonal extremes. If the signal was split between them and re-combined, that would be something. I'm surprised by how digital or. . . something, the RAT sounds. It's like the harmonics sound incredibly artificial and disconnected from the roots, to my ears, at least. But, that's exactly what some people want, so? That's an excellent comparison Caleb(this is super weird, that's my name too, and my maternal side is Anderson), thanks for sharing it.
Ive always thought that the green Russian was a good balance between the Black and the PI. Less mid range than the Black and less mid hi fuzzy's of the PI. However, it depends on the application and mix of the band/song. Damn, fuzz is awesome!
@the The parts in a modern RAT are cheap, you can build a white face RAT yourself, if you don't want yo pay the "vintage" premium, there is a difference.
Who's the fat wannabe?? You gotta be talking about someone in particular. Like everyone else I watch a lot of these videos and I can't figure who you're talking about.
The Fuzz War by Death by Audio would eat all the "Fuzz" pedals for breakfast and half of these are not even Fuzz pedals Sorry, but this is a shit list. The Rat is distortion, not even Fuzz.
@@milk_bath I swear I always find it weird when people are so strict on what things are. People just can't get their head around an overdrive being fuzzy, or a distortion working as an overdrive
Pedals so good that you don’t even have to turn them on!
0:01 OLD Russian
0:27 Russian Reissue
0:55 Big Muff
1:23 SF300
1:50 HM300
2:18 FZ-5
2:45 Ultimate Drive
3:12 Pastrami
3:40 Rat
4:07 FAB Metal
Riff takes me straight to "rocket engines burning fuel so fast...", sick 🤘
That danelectro Fab was surprising. I got what I expected from the rest but that one had me pay attention.
Good comparison! I like the Black Russian BMP best out of those.
I'm so glad I made the right decision to buy a Bigmuff nano pedal when I was 15 years old. 5 years later and it still holds up.
To me, the winner is the rat. Very good demo.
Amazing presentation. I liked the Danelectro Metal.
the *EHX Green Russian* reisue is so good🤘
You definitely need a Keeley Fuzz Bender in this video. I played one into a thunderverb 200. It's like being jacked into a lighting bolt.

I think you're hearing the common (& awesome) Rat signal overload. Transistors can be fun. :)
@@SilentJayBird Ah, that would explain it, yes!

Yup awesomeness definitely subbed!💪🏼🔥🤘🏼
The first Big Muff and the JOYO ultimate drive sound super similar, and that's fucking WILD to me.
stay heavy friends.
That second riff would have shined even brighter with the hm-300's high knob cranked up a little more. Good stuff ✌
I'd love to see the ygc-412 in the videos sometime... Traynor stuff is my favourite and that's a great cab.
Very good list
Both russian muffs always win my heart
It's hard to beat a modern era Rat when playing live. Muffs sound great..in the bedroom.
The muff can sound killer if you pair it with another dirt box to juice it up
A vintage RAT beats it quite easily.
@@ushnicyuvnikof2748 a vintage rat 1:1 with a modern rat

DOD Carcosa 🤘🤘🤘
YES!!! I love mine.
El mejor
Just a Nano Green Russian dose Boost and Overdrive to Nasty 💫 Had Them All
Nine of Swords Funeral Party. Cheap HM-2 type of fuzz. Really nasty.
Solar bender and fuzz war also massive sounding fuzz pedals
What are the settings on the fab metal?
Hell yeah!!!
🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Green Russian is the best
The black russian!
My kind of video/review... no fat wanna be presenters trying to funny and talking too much. Great job!
Who's the fat wannabe?? You gotta be talking about someone in particular. Like everyone else I watch a lot of these videos and I can't figure who you're talking about.
LOL, except for the FAB they all sound the same.
They don't sound the same when you are in the room playing. The audio here on UA-cam is compressed which makes them sound more similar than they are
SF300 and the FZ-5 sounded crap. All the Muffs sounded awesome including the NYC and the RAT sounded cool. The rest - meh.
Most of these pedals aren’t lit for your demonstration.
I assume they are photos, not video.
The Fuzz War by Death by Audio would eat all the "Fuzz" pedals for breakfast and half of these are not even Fuzz pedals Sorry, but this is a shit list. The Rat is distortion, not even Fuzz.
But the title says fuzz/distortion…
The Rat is so good it goes from OD to Distortion to Fuzz.
I have a fuzz war and that thing is AGRESSIVE! I mean, like no other pedal I've ever owned
@@milk_bath I swear I always find it weird when people are so strict on what things are. People just can't get their head around an overdrive being fuzzy, or a distortion working as an overdrive
Insane that someone would get pressed about having a RAT in a stoner/doom focused pedal video lmfao
