Thanks, Jason! It arrived yesterday and cant wait to dig in. But I must say, getting to know and understand it, seems a bit intimidating, so vids like this is super. :)
I have the Boss BP-1w Preamp Booster pedal , and one of the modes is the RE-201 preamp, which presumably the RE-202 is also emulating? Sounds great on this video, and I agree makes a good always on mode (I have a very clean amp so it’s needs a bit of colour). Thanks for the great content, I love Boss pedal vids!
Yeah you can’t go wrong with Boss! I made a vid on the BP-1W, it’s on my board at the moment, really cool pedal. - ua-cam.com/video/l0UZ4wa5bzI/v-deo.htmlsi=Zwsw-9jHg3bH4t4C
Just bought one havnt dug in yet I hope it least functions as a delay without the spacey stuff The repeats are pretty clear Why they didnt put a power switch on this i dont know
Thank you very much for this video that answered my questions about the preamp/saturation modes (and if a Boss preamp/boost BP-1W is still usefull once i bought the RE-202). Best regards.
Thanks for watching! An important difference to remember is that the pre-amp emulation in the space echo is a digital emulation whereas the BP-1W is an analogue pedal. I’d say it’s nice to have it in the space echo but if you want the preamp to be a core part of your sound, I’d go with the BP-1W.
@@JasonWharton82 Thank you for this clarification which is indeed important since it is exactly what I am looking for. I will therefore consider purchasing the BP-1W no matter what. Thank you for your professionalism.
why my pedal doesnt have that 3 settings? it only have the one and two, did i need to do something before? and many other settings in the mode selector knob, my pedal doesnt have it, im very disappointed, any solutions?:(
You likely need to update the firmware, when the pedal was first released it only had two modes for the pre-amp, they released an update that gave you more options.
Sounds groovy! Had no idea about these features! Anything to be done in post about the loud noise when your talking mic is active? Doesn't seem to be an issue in your other videos :)
Blame the dynamic mic needing the preamp boosted at full, need to get one of those cloud lifter things so I can run it at lower gain. 😭or maybe I just need to get a lavier mic!
@@JasonWharton82 Aha right yeah, I suppose the mic is really far from your face for a dynamic mic. Mind you, it's not a huge bother on the ears but just stuck out to me. Great quality on the video overall tho!
Not that so much, more that I was having to drive the dynamic mic at full gain on my interface because of how far away the mic is from me. Remedied in my newer vids with a cloud lifter in line preamp and having the mic a bit closer.
Probably didn’t explain it well enough but you can set it up as a footswitchable drive for sure, agree it’s not exactly a good use for an expensive tape delay, but it’s certainly an interesting use for one 😂
You’ve unlocked the attention to detail achievement! 😂 I hear it, it’s my mic preamp maxed out as I’m too far away from the dynamic mic I’m using, add in some lovely compression to raise the noise floor and boom, annoying buzz all the way through. The noise won’t be their when the guitar audio is playing as I cut the mic audio so as not to pick up the sound of the un-amplified guitar.

I’d focus on the panel controls and default settings first, get used to how all that works and then dig into the manual to unlock additional features.
I just got this pedal…this going to be fun!!! Thanks!
It’s a great pedal with more to offer than just tape delay!
I really like the lead sound at the end there.
Probably less the space echo and more the other drive pedals though to be fair.
Great video, just bought the pedal, and its even cooler than i thought lol, thanks :)

Thanks, Jason. Great!

It can be set up as a pretty straight forward tape delay no problem yes. Enjoy!

Just bought one, didn't realize how many things this pedal can do.
Yeah it’s got a few secrets under the hood!
Great pedal. I am absolutely convinced of its necessity- no joke. Thanks pal. (I subscribed too btw.)

@nikike91 thank you, really appreciate you taking the time to comment!
@@JasonWharton82 Cheers keep up the good work. Subbed 🤘
Nice one!
I mainly would use it for Rockabilly guitar instrumentals, if I can get a good Hank Marvin sound it will do.
Great stuff ...
Ta very much!
No problem friend ...@@JasonWharton82
Nice Whiskeey in the Jar sound
Great content! Subbed!
Thank you!
awesome. I was thinking to myself 'now all I need is a drive pedal' as I bought the coolest delay pedal. Turns out i'm done! haha (for now)
I’d still recommend going for a standalone drive pedal as it’s more of a tape saturation sound than a classic drive but it’s still cool to play with!
Nice
Have you tried it? What did you think?
Sounds like this video had a ground lift noise on one of the signals.

@@JasonWharton82 excellent! Still very cool content.
Thank you!
It makes a really expensive overdrive. Might be useful for studio use but a bit fiddly to switch in a live setting. Sounds decent though 👍

Is it just me or is there a loud buzz through the whole video 😢
