I think my struggle is that I’m not sure who I am, truly. I think most villains don’t realize they’re a villain, just as we don’t realize when we’re doing something wrong, or are narcissistic, or are being buttholes, etc. So whenever people tell me I’m such and such, I think about it and come to the conclusion that maybe they’re right, and that regardless of how genuine or kind or selfless (or whatever) I think I’m being, I suddenly will question it and say, “hm, well maybe I’m not really a benevolent person and am just faking it- faking it badly, at that. Maybe they’re right- I’m a [selfish] person.”
If someone calls you a slur, be polite, but remember who did it for the future. Always.
I think that mentality will also make you the other person's puppet, as well as be emotionally draining to be keeping a tally of other people's bad behavior.
It is best to ignore it for the garbage it is and keep moving forward with your life, rather than stop to put the garbage in your pocket as if it were important

your advice is helpful. I would never forget when you answered me back me thinking a busy guy like you would never answer my message on Facebook. you for some reason answered me. I did take your advice but I haven't had luck with finding a caring therapist like you. I will keep looking. it's hard for a normal person that not rich to find a caring therapist. it's sad that some doctors care more about how much they get paid to give a person good health care.

What happens when they get the court to call you you're something you're not?
Some years ago, my wife wanted to get a new tattoo and asked me what my favourite animal was. I said an elephant, for two reasons.
Firstly, it reminds me of the wonderful parable of the elephant and the blind men.
Secondly, it reminds me of a quote from the Dhammapada:
"I shall endure harsh words as an elephant endures the arrows of battle, for many people speak wildly."
Now I have a third reason to be fond of elephants. Thank you! 🐘

I'd get more confused than upset. But, the thing is, some stuff's insults and slurs... and people should get to have emotions and not be shamed for it. "Nobody is wrong for how they feel" I believe you said in your video on de-escalation?
