Question. Was your commander showing any signs that it might need fluid and filter replacement? What were the signs? I've replaced coils and plugs thinking that would fix the issue, and while it definitely made the engine run better, I'm noticing an odd shutter as I drive down the road, almost like the transmission is slipping.
Ok so we had issues a while back, thought it was a gas we were putting in it so we changed the spark plugs in the coils, it started running better, we had an issue with the transfer case which it kind of acted like it was slipping especially when we were driving it was hard shifting and just didn't act right even on take off, even made some loud clunking noises. So we replaced the transfer case. Did the fluid and filter because it was over due on ( miles wise). So check your transfer case.
@@zackmc832 T30(torque) completely remove the back 2 and then slowly undo the middle 2 so the fluid will drain out the back and create less of a mess. Does that answer the question? Or were you meaning something else?
That is a Mercedes designed transmission... When they owned Chrysler for a bit they used the NAG1 on everything. Still offer it on some newer vehicles too
You two are life savers. Do you still have your Jeep commander?
No, unfortunately, it threw a rod. I am hoping that things look up for us, and we can resume making these videos on our other vehicles.
I thought you were going to show us how to get the new trans fluid in? Also any part numbers for the cooler lines?
You would use a funnel and pour it into where the transmission fluid dipstick is located.
Can you tell me where the transmission speed sensor is a commander 2006 3.7

No signs it was just over due for the transmission fluid change. Since the transmission was already apart we decided the filter was being changed.
I see. So, what’s your input on my issue then?

Hope that helps.
Thank you! I will!
Where's the next video?
How many quarts do I need for my transmission? It’s a 2005 Grand Cherokee 3.7
6.6 quarts
@@susanlee6893 also what was the torque sequence and specs ?

Filter is full of metal shavings ? So magnet pulled it out ;)
My complaints about American car makers, equip transmission pans with a DRAIN PLUG, and an external filter, like an engine oil filter.

Just use Mopar ATF +4, you’ll be good.
What engine...5.7?
It's a 3.7
