I was born and raised in Hood River... Toll Bridge camp site is a 5 star place to to wander, wade, hike and just spend time. The whole Hood River Valley is a true gem, there is so much to see and do it'll take a life time to see all the valley has to offer... besides all the fruit!!! They went from one end of the valley to the other, leaving out so much of the good stuff. The Mount Hood Railroad tour train ???
I too am a Florida girl, who loves her flip-flops/sandals. When I have to wear "real shoes", my feet begin to scream! I love your videos, your doggies, and I love your adventures. I am very sorry about Jack. We are RVers too, with two dogs that travel with us. We are part timers, and we leave our four cats home when we travel, under the care of our daughters. I appreciate the sincere love and caring between the two of you. That makes your videos for me, even more real and enjoyable.
I actually stayed in that lodge three weeks after the movie was introduced in the 1980s it was a very scary experience. I was a ski racing coach and worked at the Mount Hood summer camps for several years. Here’s Thomy!
I went to Mt. Hood and Crater Lake as a young boy in the early sixties. When we retired, we moved to Southern Oregon. We have been to Crater Lake a number of times since it is only two hours from out home. In fact, we went there for our anniversary on July 16th. Likewise, my wife and I went to Mt. Hood a few years ago for our anniversary. We took the train up to a small town near the mountain and had a great time. It was cherry season and we bought fresh cherries at that little town. Great video. Brings back fond memories.
Thank you guys so very much for doing the easy and right thing by wearing masks. The sooner we all get on board with this, the sooner we may get back to some semblance of normal. You are awesome role models
Chaco's are always the best choice! You just need to readjust to wearing them again. Also, you can get them resoled! Excellent tour of Hood River area.
Love your videos. We live in Texas but Colorado and Florida are our favorite places to go. Keep up your adventures as I will riding along with you ❤️✌🏻🇺🇸 Life is Good 😌
What a beautiful video. You certainly have an eye for framing wonderful shots. I only recently found your channel and have been catching up on the progression of your journeys. I'm really impressed with how you've grown cinematically. Really enjoy you guys.
Just found your site ! Loving your posts and absolute Have to see the Timberline Lodge next time I head for Oregon/Washington area. Love the shots behind the waterfall ❤️. Safe travels to you and the pups.🐾🐾🐾🐾
Get a good pair of trail runners to hike in. They're light weight and dry quickly. I like saucony myself. Not all saucony are made equal though. Get the trail runners.
The hiking shoes I just bought that TJ was referring to is actually a pair of Brooks trail runners - very light and comfortable! I do like them, I just have an aversion to putting on socks and shoes. I know, I'm weird 🤪
I ONLY hike in sandals like yours or my Birkenstock so I get your choice. I wash mine after use. Just a little dish soap. Glad to see you are enjoying Oregon. (I live here)
Great to see you two on the road again. Hey Bri I have a pair of comfy sandals that tend to stink. What I did was to get some denatured alcohol and put it in a spray bottle. Try and get 70% or stronger. Spray them well and let dry. Works really good to eliminate the stink. Lasts quite awhile.
What a beautiful video! Bri that hike to the waterfall sure was tough on your OLD body!😂 But it was spectacular! Hey you said you were chilly up there you can always come down to FL and warm up a bit!🔥 TJ is much more relaxed now days in front of the camera...Have a great week in the “chilly” mountains! 😂🥰👍⛰🌲🏕
Bree we're glad that you didn't break your kester! Great decision to retire those slippery sandals. Wonderful video from behind the waterfall. Love the camp site! Thanks to both of you! SAFE TRAVELS
Another great video, showing how we need to take the current challenges in stride and make the best of things. The great shoe debate has been fun and reminds us of our own conversations. Peggy, also being a FL girl who'd rather be barefoot or in flip-flops (in CO!!), will defend her position on your Patreon page. I just have to shake my head whenever she stubs a toe. Oh, and we've yet to stay in the Stanley Hotel knowing we'd get a few 'visitors' in the night ;-) Lastly, the views from behind the waterfall were spectacular. Well worth the scramble. Happy travels.
TJ rocks on the nasty sandals being banished!! My wife wears her nasty shoes as bear deterrent. Nice B roll. Keep up the great videos and 2 a week is not enough for me :) you don’t have to say part 2 on the 2nd video, just add or rename them or say bonus video or encore or bonus video, etc.
Enjoying traveling through you 2 so THANKS so much !!! My hubby and I were in AZ we LOVED it there but we did leave our dog at home in PA. Hope you don't mind but hiw old are you guys ? My guess is 38 ? You are so beautiful . Stay safe 🥰💯🙏🏾
Hi Bre, I too LOVE sandals and NOT hiking boots!! Try a wonderful pair of Keens!! They have hiking sandals that are waterproof!! The best! My first pair I’ve had well over ten years....no stink, I think!!
I was suppose to spend the summer in Oregon babysitting my grandson and traveling on three day weekends. So I’m loving your recent travels. The fruit trail was on my list. Fingers crossed for next year.
Enjoyed the new video. Especially like seeing more of RV life and inside the RV. And TJ is adding a lot more commentary which is a plus. Appreciate the time it takes to edit and add all of that B-roll.
Love your guy's content. Travel the gorge twice a year from NorCal to north Idaho. Hood River is the best ! Good food, Full Sail , Dakine, wineries. Thank you for sharing your adventures.
Beautiful scenery! Bummed for you that Multnomah Falls was closed - it’s touristy but the view at the top is amazing. You guys always find a way to find good in disappointing situations - thanks for taking us along! Oh yeah - that campsite is AWESOME! 😎
That section of I-84 through the Gorge is some of the most beautiful Interstate we've ever driven! We were definitely bummed about not getting to do any of that stuff this trip, although we did get a very quick glimpse of Multnomah Falls as we were driving by... I wasn't quick enough with the camera. Thank you for the kind words and for coming along, Bob - we're happy to have you along for the adventure!
I have so many sailing & cruising friends that swear by those shoes, but if they retain / create a smell...? Tevas are so heavy & actually hurt my feet. Haven’t tried Keen’s yet, but wow - interesting. Oh my - makes me miss Oregon! The greenery, hikes, scenery & oh yea, dog friendly!
Hello guys, My hubby wanted me to tell you that I have a pair of "stinkies" too! He still reminds me of them all of the time. I actually threw them out over 15 years ago! 😆 Glad to see that you and the puppies are enjoying life. ☺️❤️🌹🌷 Michael and Gayla from Sacramento
Great content as always and the water fall was lovely. Bri I hope you feel better after the fall. P.S.- the smelly sandals is the funniest thing I heard all day 🤣😂
The campsite looks fantastic, girl you were determined to get behind that waterfall, lucky you didn't hurt yourself when you fell, great video, and you left it on an eerie musc ending, OOooooo 😬😬, stay safe
What a beautiful camp site! That area is really pretty. Where is the hike that you took? Beautiful waterfall and wildflowers. Gorgeous video from behind the waterfall. Thank you for hiking up that steep area to take the video. I remember visiting Mt. Hood when I was a young girl. Thanks again for sharing your journey!
Great places to go! We love hiking to waterfalls. As a matter of fact, we will be hiking to one today. Fairy Falls in Yellowstone. Your videos are so professionally done and the video quality is perfect! Thanks for sharing!
Oregon beautiful country.. Sadly a company I partner with & consult for had to close two of their offices there! Now I won't be able to visit as I did in the past. Only on my own dime. Bottom-line Oregon's leadership is sad ! I appreciate bringing this side of Oregon to us, excellent job Thank You.. Ouch the Shinning lol but loved it..
We're so happy you found some nice locations in the PNW while you were there. Too bad sights were closed....just means you'll have to return! Safe travels and hope we can cross paths again.
We discovered your videos about 3 weeks ago and they are our current evening entertainment as we are shopping for travel trailers. Enjoyable COVID vice! Suggestion: it would be a more pleasant viewing experience if you kept your audio at a consistent level. The music is quite a bit louder than your speaking volume so we are consistently having to adjust the volume. Best wishes for safe travels!
Thanks for sharing this with us. "The view from behind a waterfall" has a nice sound to it. Bri you look much more relaxed then you have recently. It looks good on both of you.
" Here's TJ!! " That fall reminded me of when I fell walking down to my favorite fishing hole. The tackle box went one way and the fishing rod went the other and I fell flat on my back. Very embarrassing. Glad you're okay. Beautiful water fall.
Love waterfalls!! We’ve been wanting some hiking sandals that are okay getting wet because we love hiking near lakes and streams and really any water, so we need something that can get wet... I’m glad you didn’t get hurt when you fell.
Beautiful waterfall. I'm sorry, Bree, when you fell, I could not help but laugh. Did you tweak your knee in the fall? I hope it is not too bad. A solution for the smelly shoes, put dryer sheets in them. I'm not sure if that would work for sandals.
I would have been disappointed if you hadn't laughed 😆 The fall happened on the way to the waterfall and my knee didn't start bothering me until we were half way way back. I'm not sure how I tweaked it, the trail was a fairly rocky and technical (esp. at the end), plus dogs pulling in opposite directions, plus getting older... who knows 🤷♀️ Thankfully, it didn't bother me again after the first day! Thanks for the tip on the dryer sheets, I'll store that one away for future use 😉

You guys go to the most interesting places and you’re so obviously in love with each other; sweet!!
Beautiful! I loved the view from behind the falls. Thanks for being respectful of others (wearing masks) when meeting people on the trail.
The Mask because she has smiley shoes😂😂😂

Cool shot from under the small bridge at 11:00 minute mark. Awesome video of the falls!
Another 5 star video. I always look forward to watching your adventures.
What a beautiful video. You certainly have an eye for framing wonderful shots. I only recently found your channel and have been catching up on the progression of your journeys. I'm really impressed with how you've grown cinematically. Really enjoy you guys.
If you guys are still in that area - take your dogs to the spit in Hood River..... they will love it!
Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately we've already left. Next time!
👋🏻Florida ☀️🌴🇺🇸
Lost Lake, South of Hood River. Beautiful, a lot of air traffic on approach to pdx.
Glad you are out exploring. Have fun but be safe.....

I have a pair of cabela's walking shoes that do that, they get wet they will run you out of the travel trailer. When good shoes go bad!

Hey T.J. , I think Momma got a bruised hiney on that one. , Great video behind the waterfall.
Chaco's will put NEW SOLES on your sandals and send them back to you. Awesome videos. Loved seeing you in Wichita, KS, where I live.

Y’all really do a great job with your videos. We totally enjoy them. Thank you for taking the time to post them.
Our pleasure, thank you for being here Gerard!
Fabulous vlog. It's good to see you out with the dogs, they sure liked the water. I'm glad you retired those chukars.
What happened, Vic? You weren't first this time!! 😉 We all had a great hike, even if the dogs did pull me into the water lol.
@@EmbracingDetours You see, what had happened was...
😂
Loved the fun facts!
I wish you could have taken the scenic route. Those waterfalls are beautiful.
I visited Timberline over 30 years ago. Still cool. Thanks for sharing.

Nice to see you all out and about nice area too I spent time in that region long time ago.
It's a beautiful area, we're glad to have a chance to explore it 😍
Great video thank you for sharing
Fabulous guys😉
Awwww, thanks Mark 🥰
I always enjoy your hiking videos. Keep up the great videos.
Thank you, Doug - we appreciate it!
Great to see you guys back on the road!!!
Thank you, Ray... it's great to be back 👍
Awesome video and enjoyed the fun facts. Hope you are ok from the fall, be safe travelers.

We were at Mt Hood two weeks ago while visiting our daughter in Portland.
I'm a Chaco hiker as well!
You should check out Silver Creek Falls in Oregon if you enjoy waterfalls!
Love you guys. Awesome footage. Travel safe.
Awwww, thanks Bob 😘
We love your videos and my Chaco sandals too!!! I heard that you could have them re-soled, but I don't know for sure.
Hi Bri & TJ, glad you explained the mask thing, I was thinking Bri's Chaucos had rehydrated on the trail...
Really great video, Thanks..Calvin
Beautiful Oregon,
I live in the Portland area...cross off Hood River for a place to live. It's extremely expensive and the city management is a total mess, NTM that the winter weather can be brutal.
Bri - you can get your beloved Chaco's repaired, new straps, new soles, adjusted, etc. Go to Rechaco
Thanks Marc, I'll definitely look into that!
Glad to see you got out of Portland!
Thanks, Antonio - we sure are happy to be getting back into nature!
Great video, we were just up at the lodge? Sure wish we would have run into you guys! Enjoy your stay in Oregon
Its a shame that all of the water falls are closed. Very Nice camp site.
We were disappointed that we couldn't explore the Columbia River Gorge while here... we'll just have to come back!
Redum Guys! Great video this week. Even during a pandemic Hood River does not disappoint. Safe travels.
Omgosh that was a awesome find to the falls. So cool great video fun 💖
The dogs were enjoying the river while you were talking.
They sure do love getting wet and then muddy 🙄😝
Loved this video!!!! I am a Florida girl too and understand the shoe thing😄
Y'all do a great job with you videos. I have to ask how do you support your travels? My wife and I hope to get on the road this spring but in a motorhome. Your videos are inspiring at the very least. Will be retired and hopefully or planned retirement will keep us afloat. I have watch many videos over the last month.
You've been in our area the last couple of videos -- love seeing "home" in your videos. I hope you can come back when things are more open -- Hwy 30 is like waterfall speed dating and totally worth making time for. Also, so many really great wineries and fruit, lavender, etc. farms in the Hood River area that are worth stopping for.
Spray ghe sandals with some anti bacterial spray like microban that should help with the smell. Then use apple cider vinegar on your feet before going on a hike to help.
We are huge fans of The Shining, too! What an interesting Lodge that was. Great video and so happy you guys are highlighting your puppies more! 😊
Great video, we were in Mt.hood last year it is on our list to return to.
I went to Florida in beginning of March and stayed till june 25th because of Covid and nothing open anywhere, still got to fish everyday so no worries but my National Parks Pass was worthless
The Cider sounds yummy!
I’m sorry I was thinking about you might fall there by the creek and you did I must’ve jinxed you.😃 I really enjoy watching You two driving around the country. I am home not being able to go with this virus going on till I get the vaccine out and then I plan on traveling my self.
Hope you enjoy your stay. I come from a very small town up the gorge. It tends to get very hot here. Hope you have air conditioning.
You are my favorite!! So glad to see you!
Just curious, why the Pride hitch over the Hensley Arrow? I tow my Nash 17K with a Hensley Arrow.
There's very little difference between the two. For us it came down to availability, we needed it shipped to us while we were in Texas and Pro Pride was able to get it to us faster. I think it's also a slightly upgraded design from the Hensley.
Love the shoes
Hmm hiking sandals
The “Shining” is one of our favorite movies! The lodge is incredible but we never knew it was associated with the Shining! Thanks for sharing. Why don’t you just order a new pair of those shoes you like? My wife hates “boots” too! We live on a beach do everything is “sandals” or barefoot! 🤙
Hi TJ, What type of hitch is that on your van and trailer ? It looks like the body stays on the trailer.
We have a ProPride hitch, it's an investment but we love it and think it was well worth it for the peace of mind it gives us. Per ProPride's website, 'The ProPride 3P anti sway trailer hitch main unit consists of two 3/4" thick links that project the pivot point of the trailer forward to near the rear axle of your tow vehicle. By not allowing the trailer to pivot side-to-side on the ball trailer sway is eliminated.' My (Bri) non-engineering brain doesn't really understand that, but this video does a nice job of explaining the theory behind this hitch design: ua-cam.com/video/v2otJAgYiTo/v-deo.html
