- Common causes of clicking noise from front wheel when driving.
CV Axle (Common)
Something stuck in such as tire such as nail or stone
Loose Hubcap
Wheel Bearing
Lug nut working its way loose
Brakes Pads or Calipers
Suspension Problems
Confirmed! It's my CV Axel 👍 Thanks for the clarification and spot on description!
I am suspecting my CV Axel is bad. Did your car make clicking noise when driving straight?
pretty sure it’s my bearing. thanks for the quality video!
I got scared when hearing the sounds more frequently and a low rumble when driving fast. I thought it might be the transmission. I added fluid but that wasn’t it.
Thank you. Now I know I need new bearings
I’m having a ticking noise after installing new pads. I also installed another new set of pads to rule that out. It only ticks when I’m braking and the speed of the noise is directly based on the speed of the car. It almost sounds like a piece of plastic or a poker card shuffling.
My exact situation, any update?
@@sebastianr5019 yea it was the rotors they were warped. I changed them and it went away but now I need to find out what caused them to warp. I think my calipers are sticking.
I have the same ticking noise after installing brand new rotors and pads, acdelco from the dealer
@@chrisolbrycht9858 same except I installed it myself. I found my issue. The clicking noise got louder the faster I went. I jacked up the car and spun the tire to recreate the sound and looked at the pads through the holes. I saw that the clips were hitting the tire as it rotates. Had to pull them out and put them in correctly and it went away.
Warped rotors. Happened to my ‘08 pilot worth a shot
It would be great to have an example to compare it too 😢
I just had new front brakes installed 8 months, suspension work a few weeks ago and new tires installed days ago. Car is making a "tambourine" sound at very low speed. It's at a very rapid rate (i.e. must faster than the rotation of the tire which makes me think it's not a stone or nail in tire).
did you also have vibrations at higher speeds?
Okay so here is my clicking issue. The clicks follow the speed of the car, the faster I go the faster the clicks are. It makes no difference when turning either way, it makes no difference whether it’s in drive or neutral, it’s makes no difference if you are breaking or not.
So far I’ve replaced wheel bearings, breaks pads and rotors, drop links, suspension struts and springs, top mounts.
Last thing to get done is the drive shafts! 🤞🤞🤞
Did you resolve the issue? Having the same problem on my 2017 honda civic.
@@benjaminnn.4122nope, replaced the drive shafts but it made no difference. However I have located where the noise is coming from and it’s not good news. Transmission…… Yep the transmission is fooked! Not happy.
Someone advised me to put the car on axel stands and remove the wheels then operate the gearbox with someone watching what’s happening outside the car. Sure enough the problem is caused by something clunking inside the box. 🤯
I knew it!! Thanks brother
A separated tire belt can cause it too. Very dangerous.
I have this issue after a rear axle housing replacement. The seals leaked all over the brake pads and ive heard it ever since. I had the seals replaced and now i hear it again
Have more of a clanking noise coming from the front left of my vehicle. Almost like something is banging around in the motor/wheel area. I can't see anything when I have the vehicle stopped. I hear it when I'm on a flat road more so when I'm going faster.
I heared it too ? Have u figured out ?
Same here have you figured it out
@AlphaTrader-bq4xw no not yet.
@VolunteerFan7 no not yet.
@@LoungeAct1978 i have figured out my problem, it was condensor that was tapping the body, when my car goes into high speed and condensor was lose so it start tapping the body...
now i hear nothing, you should check your condensor too.
I had my front brake pads and rotors changed Friday and now I hear a ticking/clicking noise coming from the front left side, which turns into an annoying screech the faster you drive. I took it back to Firestone the next day and told them about it, the tech took it for a quick test drive, came back and told me it was the transmission, lol. Mind you there was NO sound prior to having my pads & rotors changed, no slow-down in shifting, nada! He then changed his mind and said that it could be the axle starting to go. I disagreed and asked him to take the tire off and LOOK, spin it and see, he continued to tell me it was either a transmission issue or axle...any ideas?
I get a clicking noise when accelerating and it follows my speed. The faster I go the faster it click and the slower i go the slower i click. This only happen when driving straight.
@RonDaG0at I have exactly the same issue, it’s driving me insane (Excuse the pun)
Did you find the problem
@@salvisfun3577yes. The gearbox is knackered. Nightmare, it’s only a matter of time before it completely goes.
Got a clicking noise on driver side wheel area on 2016 kia forte after it was towed about 15 miles. What could it be ?
When my vehicle move forwards & backwards then it makes a clicking sound while driving. When I drive over humps, then it makes no sounds. The steering wheel is not vibrating, nothing feels weird or out of order. Any advise what it could be?
Suddenly my steering wheel is tight with a clicking noise. The tightess and the clicking both increase as the steering wheel advances.like something is about to snap! The noise is audible in the cab ...97 f150 4wd. Old trucks make old truck noises..this doesnt seem right! Any thoughts? Thanks in advance
My daughters car has new struts and brakes and still making clicking noise when going over numbs any ideas fellas?
It was the front sway bar for my toyota camry.
what year?
Found out I had TWO NAILS IN MY TIRE 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
glad you found the problem
@@sqd37l thank you bro! luckily my neighbour works on cars and hooked me up fixed my tire 🙏🏻🙏🏻
@HVAC_Mechanic video credits!!
What about a single click sound. Happens right as I accelerate (slow or fast) and once when I decelerate
Did you ever figure it out? That’s what I’m trying to diagnose.
@@meauxsoney1 lol I have no clue, thinking it might be my wheel?? but I'm guessing and haven't taken it to a shop yet. Car seems fine though after several months
Hi I have c300 rear wheel drive and I hear clicking noise when turning, what is the issue?
Did you not watch the video? It's the first thing he covers
So mine only makes a ticking sound when not accelerating but when accelerating it goes away what can be causing it?
Same, did you get it checked?
Please help or reply

Hey, I'd like to ask you about a noise on my 2014 Ram 1500 Longhorn. I'm troubleshooting right now and trying to get suggestions.
My front passenger side clicks/pops when I first get into my truck after being somewhere for a bit and also click/pops while driving down the road, straight. The roads here are all somewhat a little bumpy. As far as I have noticed it does not click/pop any more or less while turning. I did spray some lubricant on the shock absorber hoping to alleviate some of the noise, not sure how they fared yet. I just did that earlier. Any ideas and/or suggestions??
Sorry so long?!?!
Thanks.
