    I just watched your video and switched from making tomato soup to this recipe! No cashews on had. Used milk. Absolutely quick, easy and delicious! Thanks very much! Very budget friendly too! I used raw potatoes, added some ham slices and a piece of green pepper because I just love the fresh pop of flavor it brings! I’m now subscribing and Thumbs up! Blessings!

    My vitamix has no soup setting so after putting it to high I let it work for 5 mins
    Added extra potatoes, cheese, bacon & some sausage for 24 second pulse ( probably needed less to have a more textured soup)
    Thank you-- for your recipe--- my first soup on a vitamix, and it was delicious 😋

      Yes just use the Vitamix for about 5-7 minutes to create a smooth soup and the friction will cause it heat up. Sounds like you had success with your try. Amazing isn’t it. 🤙

    Does the starch in the potato make the soup gummy?

    • @HangingwJK
      @HangingwJK  2 роки тому +3

      Not at all. Turns out similar to a soup I’d purchase from Panera for example. 🤙

    What’s the point of softening up the potatoes if you can throw them in raw? Is there a difference in taste this way? If not, I can’t understand the point.

    • @HangingwJK
      @HangingwJK  3 роки тому +2

      Good point. We like to soften them up a little bit before throwing them in the Vitamix. I feel like raw potatoes are super firm and would need a lot of time to break down. Just my opinion. Not sure if it changes the taste though? Thanks for watching. 🤙

    • @AJTR611
      @AJTR611 3 роки тому +1

      @@HangingwJK maybe I’ll experiment and compare! I don’t mind a few extra minutes of breakdown... since it would take longer to soften on the stove, but I definitely don’t want raw potato taste! Lol

      Loud but worth it. It is a blender so, unfortunately it isn’t silent.

    Chicken broth and cheese are hardly "health food."

    • @Hannahsunshine-
      @Hannahsunshine- 2 роки тому +13

      Everyone has a different definition of "healthy". If you don't think it's healthy enough for you, just adjust the recipe to your liking. Veggie broth and nutritional yeast if you're a high and mighty vegan.
