Is it possible to order the modified case you have somewhere? What are the dimensions of your modded case? Can you recommend any other cases for SFF builds? Preferably on Aliexpress... What's the smallest you can go with X99 and what about decent X99 mini ITX motherboards? In Thailand the cheapest and smallest SFF case for a budget Machinist or Zsus (PR9/D4) goes for about $19 (623 baht) and is 360*160*285 and will fit both a mATX MB and PSU. Similar dimensions as the Metalfish S5 Max or ZZAW B3.
If it's so cheap in Thailand then why do you need something else from AliExpress? There are no X99 mITX boards, only some rare expensive branded options or the pathetic X99i-Server.
Hello, I have a question. I recently bought the Huananzhi X99-QD4 motherboard. When turning on the computer, the board emits an annoying screeching noise from the BIOS speaker. I did not find any option to turn it off in the BIOS. This is not an error signal, but a system startup signal. Do you know the solution to this problem?
Hello. Can i still use other processor on my mobo even after i install unlock turbo boost mod for e5 2640v3 on it. Im planning to upgrade my processor but i dont know if it will work😅
There are several cases though, quite cheap ones on AliExpress, such as PCCooling i100, several cases from Metalfish, Jonsbo, unknows brands, etc. Minimum size is about 15L, smaller is not possible with a micro-ATX motherboard, and as far as I know there are no or hardly any mini-ITX and (mini-) DTX X99 boards. So the cases with a vertical GPU mount at the other side of the CPU on the mainboard are just too tiny, mostly about 190mm high, about 135mm wide and 300 (or more) deep, for a full GPU, whereas the cheaper X99 boards are approximately 215x185. Keeping everything really ITX is pretty costly, a niche?

Nice build! Really like the sff xeon builds. I would use 2680v4 though, it's only 10 euros more than 2640v4. Machinist PR9 could be bought on aliexpress for 35 euros when on sale. Where do you buy ram so cheap? I can't find 2x8gb ddr4 for less than 35 euros.
The 35 Euros price doesn't include 25% swedish VAT. The RAM I found on local second hand market, sometimes these ECC REG modules can be obtained for cheap, especially the low frequency ones.
@@Miyconst Thanks for answering. It's rare, but yes, i have also found now on local used market 16gb 2400mhz samsung ecc ram for 20 euros. The thing with VAT and aliexpress is confusing... Aliexpress states that VAT is included in price for eu countries, and it's variable, depending on the country. Croatia also has 25% vat. I never get taxed beyond aliexpress price.
@@ultrawidegaming9402 so, you mean that the PR9 is available for 35 Euros with VAT? Well.. then it's a good deal, when such deals show up, shipping to Sweden usually costs 20-30 Euros, so the final price is the same as the regular offer.
@@Miyconst yes, i bought the last one about month ago for 34 euros, free shipping, it was choice day or something like that, and i had some coins. Currently the price is around 50€ with shipping. So I was surprised with the price you need to pay when ordering from Sweden
I was extremely fortunate enough to be given the original Asrock x99-itx motherboard from a coworker who thought it was dead but just needed some simple troubleshooting along with a sff Silverstone psu. I currently don't use the motherboard anymore so it is simply collecting dust. Ive considered selling it if they are still valuable to collectors but then again i like the idea of sending it to you since I know you would make better use of it and maybe if I'm lucky it will appear in future video one day lol. Ill check what the shipping cost would be soon
I am not entirely sure that I would have a better use for the motherboard but it's indeed an awesome collector's piece and I would probably turn it into a NAS storage or something like that. Thank you for the support regardless of whether you decide to donate it or not.
It will be interesting to see in 1 month of gameplay and the GPU load over 90 pushing all that heat effects on the PLA chassis. Will it deform? Will it possibly bend the GPU?
If you can, for comparison, build something cheap, used on AM4? Maybe Ryzen 1600/2600? Xeons are cool, but what next? AM4 will have cheap 3600/5600 or 3D or more cores in a few years ;)
They got to be the same price for that to happen. It won't happen unless those AMD cpus were damaged by overclocking and degraded so much they perform worse than they are supposed to.
