I got a 2000 Silverado with a 5.3l, NV3500 5 speed, 4×4, 35in grapplers, 20 inch rims 6 inch pro comp suspension life with a 3.5 inch body lift... Just installed all new head n tail lights and im working on purchasing a MOVE front bumper kit...... My icon pic is actually my truck....... Cant get enough Merrick's garage!
This is close to what I'm looking to get: 4 door with straight axle conversion with 4 link coilover suspension, 6.0L V8, 4L80 with NP205 or Atlas transfercase. 36" or 37" All Terrain BFG's. Daily driver
well , i think we all are off-roaders doesn't matter what your 4x4 is , , over time i had many 4x4's ford f350 7.3 diesel , chevy k5 , suzuki samurai , fj40 land cruiser , jeep cj7, jeep tj , and jeep yj that i love so much

My friend Duke passed away over the winter from pneumonia. He collected Dodge M37 he was a marine that fought in Laos in the early 60s. I have a 1999 1500 Z71 that's been fully boxed Fox triple bypass blah blah blah.

After I get my square body established im doing same thing to my 03 extend cab.. already got a d44 drivers side drop.. only thing holding me up is a need a daily for my daily.. so get square body done then a SAS is next.. I've watched all your videos and love them.. started about 6 months ago.. square body was going to be full blown prerunner but I bought a k30 chassis last week instead since I live in Missouri.. it needs to be 4wd.. thanks for the non stop dreaming I do after watching your videos.. keep up the great work..

wish i noticed this one when you posted it, actually almost done my SAS on my 03 1500 with a 78 f250 dana 44 but did customs brackets near what he has and 4 inch lift 47"s, tossing in a np241 also and a 14 bolt ff
What u do with the 4wd actuator
Unbolt it from the gm diff leave it plugged in and mount it out of the way
Starting the sas on my gmt800 suburban soon, the parts pile is growing on my shop floor

I'm doing the same swap on a 1992 2 door Blazer. Just picked up a high pinion ford dana 44 and already have a couple of 14 bolt semi floats hanging around. I plan in 4.56 gears and can go 6 or 8 lug. Im thinking on going with 35's or 37's.

Great build. I do have a question on this build because I am doing the same thing to a 1993 k3500 truck. I am using a 01 Ford F-250 super duty axle. So the question I have is this. What steering linkage sis he use and what pitman arm did he use? I have all the ford tie-rod and linkage. Mainly I want to know is what pitman arm did he use on the steering box? Thank in advance for the help. 👍😎

Just bought a 98 sbc w/t that was SAS with gm Dana 44 passenger front with 14 bolt semi float rear, sitting in 38 super swampers. If I build the axles can I stick with 38s or should I go down in size till I can afford the D60 swap?
Just go east unless it is really built. Chromo axles etc. then why replace the 44!?!

Nice rig. To bad gm went the way of the mall cruiser, with the independent front suspension. Does ord make a kit to put a solid axle in the newer trucks? I know they make it for the 88 and up

What makes a 10 bolt that is trussed and has cromo axles less than a dana 44? I run a front 10b and rear 14sf on 37s on my k5 and haven’t had any problems
Spline count on the inners for one and I think the dana 44 housing is stronger. You will break with 37’s once you start getting after it.
Is the front leaf spring hanger crossmember on your buddies SAS cat eye homemade? Most of the SAS stuff like off road designs are for 2500/3500 frames only
they weren't home made, they were from a kit. I will have to ask him what the company name was.

Nice build. One question what year is the 14 bolt? I have a '95 semi 14 bolt and looking for one with disc brakes.
fubar0364 99 and newer should be disc
0.42 I don’t understand way you have to bash Toyota or Ford. There is nothing cheap about these trucks, I have both. Solid axle or IFS, it is all about personal preferences.
