@@Omar_E11 we all know if he didnt answers then people would find another reason to criticise Dave. Those people arent rational no need to try to defend them.
Interviewer. "Congratulations on the new album"
Mustaine. " Metallica".
God honestly, I wish james and Dave would start a side project.
Could you imagine if that happened, how Lars would literally blow up? That would be more catastrophic than a nuclear strike lmao
That would be awesome.

I love how interviewers ask dave questions about Metallica years and the people blame him for answering here’s a shocker for y’all just don’t ask him about that time period and about other stuff idk could just be me
He needs to just refuse the questions at this point. He just loves talking about it and making stuff up.
Of course, people are going to ask those questions but he should just say look that shit happened a really long time ago I made my peace
@@stevenbaksh5545 ikr, let him rst in peace
Isn't he the one who's always been obsessed with Metallica and their success? It's really sad
Damn straight! Don’t ask if you don’t wanna know! Besides, that all happened so long ago, that it doesn’t matter at all, except to the people actually involved; Dave Mustaine, James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. Everyone else can keep their mouths shut, because they weren’t there, if they were even born yet.
Dave Mustaine: releases one of the most amazing albums of 2022
Everyone: do you regret punching Papa Het in 1983?
Great point. His fault though. He doesn't have to keep answering the questions. It's no ones fault but his.
Everyone?! 😅
Its Dave Who talks willingly and does the honor of bringing the James and Met subject up
The beauty of the music business is when you’re successful at it you never have to grow up, and few rarely do. Dave is still living the same scene from over 40 years ago. The same things that make you great can also make you horrible.
Never have to grow up? You mean being radically self-responsible for your life and destiny; granting you the potential for success? . . . in ANY industry? I would say that happens often, not "never", as you suggest
He was answering the question that was asked LOL ffs
@@gamingsociety3684 it wasn’t an insult and I was referring specifically to the music industry. The image, the fans, the whole game. I was close friends with Gar and teched for him, I knew Nick fairly well also . Not that it matters but I know a lot from the inside, but whatever. It wasn’t an insult just how it is, I’m kinda like that myself.
It was nice of him to make a point of saying how much he and others respect and admire Hetfield.
The whole thing was a waste of time since it was only reported because men enjoy highlighting other men so men stay relevant in their negativity they push upon the world. I smacked a chick off my porch 20 years ago..not gonna run to any reporters to rehash it and make myself appear relevant for it now though.
@@EccentricEclectic1 might have to do with Dave Mustaine being relevant and you not
@@EccentricEclectic1 You`re not in a massively successful metal outfit.
@@RLSteffler But the point is valid. Dave really isn't good at letting go.
I feel like interviewers keep asking Dave about Metallica. It’s not his fault he keeps talking about it. And besides, Dave seems happier now more than ever.
they hired another guirarist behind his back and fired him what no second chance they should have given him a second chance
but today both bands make today make great albums

@@thereturnofdarthcaedus They were all dumb kids at the time, in fact, they kept being dumb kids for a long time afterwards. If Dave stayed in Metallica they would've collapsed after 3 albums max, this way we got 2 great bands, and Mustaine evolved from co-writer/lead guitar/wannabe-leader into main writer/all-around guitar/singer/actual leader.
@@thereturnofdarthcaedus I'm pretty sure Hetfield don't have to do anything behind anyone's back but thankfully he is not a man who is hellbent on second chances.
I think I've heard James talk about Dave like once. Meanwhile Dave talks about James almost every interview.
Exactly. He's literally not on his radar. Like...ever. It's so weird how one person can barely think about something and someone else can be clinically obsessed with it.
Do you think Dave wants them asking about it? Or do you think reporters are asking him hoping to stir up some shit?
Well I’ve heard James talk about Dave more than once…definitely at least 5 times
But yes; Dave mentions James FAR more. There is no denying that lol
@@douggambill2466 It's both. Dave enjoys talking about it and reporters know that. However people know James doesn't care and that's why reporters don't ask him about Dave. There's even a famous interview with James where he says "It's the Dave hour" and rolls his eyes and goes silent.
THE INTERVIEWERS KEEP ASKING HIM. STFU
It be cool to see them work on a album together and see what Metallica would have been.
Hell it could bring peace to the world for all we know.
Lmao..what comic book is this? MetallicA was exactly what it should be.. Megadeth was exactly what it should be. Evolution is not a Thing That Should Not Be.
How would this little man made competition help the planet?
naaah hetfield just holding him back..
I wish that Dave and James would get together and do one side project album together. I know Dave is always said that James is the best rhythm guitar player he's ever played with. And it might inspire James with new ideas in music because we all know that he's run out of ideas many years ago.
I hope their relationship with each other is good now.
I bet 50 bucks ya really dont ... fans would opt to see feuding among people in the same field over collaboration or sanity any day of the week. Social Media has done nothing but prove that fact.
It's a shame he isn't sorry for what he did to Jr. He put him through hell ever since he had rejoined the band.
I would sure hate to have to tell stories about my life when I was 18 years old and 40 years later.
James and Dave are both awesome🖤🖤🖤🤘🤘🤘
I just saw Megadeth last Monday and tomorrow I am seeing Metallica. I love both bands and don't put one over the other because both bands are badass.
Intro of sanitarium wipes out whole megadeth catalog in 3 seconds...
@@silly8395 Idk if I'd go that far.
Yeah, both are, but Megadeth actually has talent.
Hey. You felt that way. You did it. Good for you. Owning up to it is the best thing you can do.
What's Dave's really trying to say is that he wished he punched Lars instead of James. Dave respects James the late cliff Burton and Jason newstead all of the other members that have been in metallica since 1981 Dave has mocked through the years. Ron McGovney Lars and Kirk have been on Dave's shitlist forever now at least my whole life. Not sure Lloyd grant was ever an official member of the band but I think he may have appeared on metal massacre the 1982 metal blade records release.
I expect any random guy would regret it. Like ah man I just clobbered the lead of metallica
Why? He was the lead of Megadeth. It's a bit like Audioslave Chris Cornell fighting with Soundgarden Chris Cornell ... none of it makes sense but men rarely do.
@@EccentricEclectic1 Men rarely make sense? What? Sure, many women don’t associate with other women because women are so full of drama. Now we need megadeth Metallica concert 🤘🏴☠️🤘
i feel like Mustaine talks more about Metallica publicly than Metallica…….
exactly
Perhaps reporters should ask better questions and let people lay the past to rest. But they don't. Men seem to be the only ones functioning constantly on repeat cycles and ideas.
Reporters keep bringing it up for clicks and drama, always someone will ask a question about Metallica in every interview
Would love to see these two bands do a cover album of each other's songs. Then go on tour together playing such said cover album. Don't know about you guys, but that would be a killer show! LOL
Or perhaps the world could make new music 🤔
There's a 0.02% chance Metallica would do that. Maybe the other guys, but James honestly just doesn't like Megadeth. Even on Megadeth's Behind the Music outtakes when asked if they liked the band James couldn't muster the BS enough to say more than quote ".....they're alright."
Dave E is right!! He never got over the Metallica thing !

It's been over 40 years. They're all like brothers. Any type of relationship has their good days & bad days. As you age, shit that bothered in your 20's & 30's no longer has a hold. Mini battles. No drawn out war's. Water off a ducks back.
They have been through it together and are still chugging right along.
Lars is a very savvy businessman and does whatever it takes to keep the machine rolling & shiny. And he has arranged every Metallica song.

Thank god for the punch.. MEGADETH kicks ass...
Yes. Yes. Yes!!!
Get the narrator some Dayquil and I’ll listen to this revolving story for the millionth time.
Dave and James could get together and jam, write some songs together. Might not heal all the old wounds but it would be something; get a different bass player and drummer for a one-off album or EP while they're still around and capable. Just a thought.
Who answered Ulrich's adds?
The Filmore show is hands down my favorite versions of all the Mustaine era stuff, studio or live. Dave shreds and he ratchets up the speed to a pace Ulrich had to be absolutely hating his guts over. Wish I could have been there.
I was there, and it was amazing. 🤘
What Dave needs to realize is that if he wouldn't have been kicked out out Metallica, it would be a totally different band. Kirk has cowritten 51 songs between their 10 albums, including their most-known song Enter Sandman. If I was Dave at this point, I would just take solace in knowing that their biggest song was a rip off of Excel and that my last 2 albums went number 3.
It is a crazy butterfly effect to sit and ponder - what would happen if they were still together. Like, you're right, most of their most well known songs had main riffs taken from Kirk's tapes. Would James go for the quick technical ninjitsu of Dave? Would Dave give James the reins to masterfully weave killer vocal melodies with more straightforward meat-and-potatoes riffage? Would Lars get frustrated with their battles for superiority and.... go back to being a tennis player? Gah, the mental gymnastics are killing me.

It’s like they literally have to “reboot” everything nowadays… movies, tv shows and video games aren’t enough, now we gotta deal with reboots of rock n roll “news”
Megadeth's tour cycle.
newsflash: hetfield or anyone, puts their foot on my dog, you'll never use it to walk again.
Im a massive Megadeth fan but Dave…..geez.
Mustaine keeps missing the part about drinking, that he was being aggressive after that, while the others weren't.
It seems Dave will never get over being kick out the the Biggest metal band of all time.
Dave seems to really like holding grudges. Holding a grudge, what a waste of energy.
Both bands begin with the same 2 letters 'ME'.
It's funny, beacuse if you keep saying "ME-ME" repetedly, it sounds like a baby crying.
The reason Dave has trouble letting go of Metallica. Dave Mustaine net worth 30 million. - Kirk Hammett net worth 260 million. 230 million dollars is the reason.
@Eliza Page Kirk Hammett deserves every penny. We all know what Metallica sounds like without his solos. ST. ANGER. Enough said.
@Eliza Page If you were a musician you would know that James' riffs are some of the most basic and repetitive in the entire metal universe lol. Every kid can learn them after a few months of playing guitar. Plus, except for the Black Album, Kirk doesn't use the wah pedal in most of his solos. If it wasn't for Kirk entering Metallica, they would be just another thrash metal band, among dozens of them that existed back in the day, whose solos sounded pretty much the same.
@Eliza Page You don't make any sense. Must be Alzheimer kicking in! The band Metallica that you loved and listened to, and showed to your friends, had KIRK in it. As a lead guitar player and also as a riff writer as well. And all my statements were correct. By the way, the 90's were the best decade ever for metal. All the subgenres came to be. Black Metal, Death Metal, Power Metal, Gothic Metal, etc.
@Eliza Page LOL. You have mental problems! Kirk was trying to do do Mustaine in the 80's?! LOOOOL. Kirk didn't pull much of his own style until the 90's? LOL. Do you honestly know what you are talking about? "Fade to Black" and "Creeping Death" alone belong 80 % to Kirk! Not just the awesome solos. And there are tons of other iconic songs by Kirk, not just the melodic and awesome solos, but also riffs. "Sanitarium", "Master of Puppets", "Disposable Heroes", "Damage Inc." "Trapped Under Ice". Mustaine contributed ZERO to Master of Puppets. And he contributed with riffs to 2 songs out of Ride The Lightning. Which has EIGHT tracks. Dave Mustaine when it comes to solos, pretty much improvises and shreds around the same scales, that's it! Unlike Kirk, who is able to build and compose complex and structured musical solos. Why do I even waste my time with you? You're completely deranged!
I think there’s a slight resemblance between James Hetfield and Ron Perlman. Anybody else see it? (I did say SLIGHT, so don’t tell me they’re not twins.)
He was asked a question..why do people hate on a guy for honestly answering a question?
as a fan never really liked getting into the personal relationships of band members from either band i like both bands but can see both points of view back then dave felt hurt and secrectly maybe still does for being thrown out of metalica they should have giving a second chance yes dave got drunk and got mean took drugs all documented but did james not have a alcohol problem you could keep going on about forever there is good and bad in all
Need publicity for the new album....better mention metallica again that's worked for 40 years
Ayyy finally
Dave and Metallica have buried the hatchet long time ago. It’s the media that keeps poking and probing, and unfortunately Mustaine always has something to say. Meanwhile Metallica just do their own things.
Hetfield seems like the kind of guy that needs some aggressive aggressive behavior from someone else to counter his passive aggressive behavior. Force him to learn how to communicate like an adult. That being said Mustaine and Hetfield seem like they have evolved a lot.

This topic is never going away. Why? Because I click on the damn videos.
All I can visualize when I think of metallica anymore is Lars sitting on a couch eating a bag of chips wiping his mouth then wiping his hand on the couch he is sitting on.
Has anybody made a compilation video of Lars just eating various food with completely out of context musings? I feel like this needs to happen, and it'd be shockingly easy to do.

@Eliza Page Larps mouth stands 7'2". Who would've been the drummer if Cliff lived?
YEAH he punched him, but they kicked him!!!.... out.
Why, did he break a nail?
Look folks , There's more to it than what Dave Claims. Metallica got rid of him for more than just some Dog Abuse incident . From day one when Dave joined Metallica he had the intention of Leading the Band , getting Top dollar in the Band , and Poaching James away from the Band eventually to start a new band . As he has said Dave could take or Leave Lars . He didn't really like Ron McGoveny's weak stature as a person or in the Band . Dave certainly didn't like Cliff's Lynrd Skynrd Country Vibe Hippy Bell Bottom Boots look or style either . Dave was more of a Sports Jock / Surfer Beach Bum / LA Sunset Strip Type . So his attitude / style clashed right off the bat with the more live and let live Anti - Social Misfit Nerds like James and Lars . Dave alienated a lot of the Thrash Heavy Metal Friends similar to Metallica that the band wanted to hang out with as well . Dave would get drunken Martial Arts violent against them . Dave basically brought in 2 complete LA Scene Hair Metal Songs that basically flew in the face of what Metallica wanted to be , as more of an Introspective / World History / Phsycological Medical Condition / Religion / Story Telling Band similar to Iron Maiden . James and Lars didn't write about , or didn't want to write songs about Motley Crue / Ratt style sexual inuendo , and haven't since Dave left the Band in 1983 . Jump In The Fire and Mechanix / Four Horsemen had to be Re Written By James and Lars to eliminate that element .
James and Dave had a more competitive Relationship . As Quiet and Reserved as James was he could be a Beligerent Violent Abusive Drunk himself in the early 80s . He had a lot of death in his family that he was hurting from Emotionally , and had no outlet to deal with it . Dave had some Pit Bull Dogs . Those dogs can be viscious , so I can picture James kicking a Dog like that off of Ron's Car drunk off of his ass to protect himself , and to Piss Dave off .
The Last straw was when Dave was High / Drunk and almost killed the entire Band falling asleep driving the U Haul In 30 Below Zero Laramie , Wyoming on March 1983 running off the road in a Ditch causing a 10 car pile up on a Snowy Highway when they were on their way to Rochester NY to sign a Record Deal with Johnny Z . They almost froze to death out there . That's why James and Lars threw Dave in the Back of the U Haul the Rest of the Way , were pissed at him , and had to get rid of him . Like James said in the VH1 Megadeth Behind the Music , Dave was on the Road to Killing all of the Metallica members some how , so something had to change .
Exactly. Well said. That's all true, and that stuff little-by-little grinds peoples gears. Especially in a band when you're supposed to be a unit, sleeping in tight quarters, no money, constantly on the road. As Dave also said, he was a mean drunk and the rest were silly fun-loving drunks. That in and of itself isn't sustainable under those circumstances. It was destined to fail.
Mustaine sure didn't punch Mike Muir in the face.
May be it was because dave was a junkie
@@kikeheebchinkjigaboo6631 or that Mike was and is bigger and in better shape. Also Mike is way more street wise. And, yes, Dave was a junkie. Muir doesn't even drink. Mustaine even admitted Mike Muir would probably destroy him. He said that in interviews. I think they actually get along now.
They were young. They were drunken partying rockers. None of them had any idea of what their futures held. Tragedies along the way. Success came for all in the end. Two brand band names. METALLICA and MEGADETH.
I'm glad Dave left because we otherwise wouldn't have all megadeth"s awesome music
I honestly think Mustaine wishes that he and Metallica didn’t split. I think it still bothers him like getting split from your own family. I’m sure just like us fans, he wonders what they could have created together

Idk why everyone doesn’t understand that Dave is coming out with all these stories once a week or every few weeks is only to keep his name/band in the news/social media to keep people talking to promote the new album. I’m not saying he’s wrong for doing this it’s actually smart of him!
