Megadeth trying not to bring up metallica for more than a week challenge (impossible)
They're chillin rent free!

I think it’s just the media. They’re always asking them questions they already know about the Metallica days. I guess it’s good metal press to make articles. 🤷🏻♂️
To be fair, interviewers always instigate it from what I've seen. They bring it up b/c they know Dave will go off & cause controversy😅
I love Dave and Megadeth..dude get over Metallica. You just keep on your path..

@@hazenbrayall9836yeah and I think he really just misses the comradery he had with the guys. I remember in some docu Dave and Lars are talking about Dave’s kicking out of Metallica and Dave told him “all I had were you and James” so I think the guys really just hurt and misses his friends more than anything.
Dave shitmouthing Metallica is & has always been his path. He literally made a career out of it. Constantly reminding people that he used to be in Metallica by shitmouthing them sold more Megadeth records.

Imagine being the leader of one of the biggest metal bands in history and still being hung up on something that happened many decades ago.
He has turned himself into a bad joke
I mean seriously! Look at it this way too.
He got let go from a band that was basically 1 or 2 steps away from garage band status. Built his own major successful thing. But he's STILL upset about the garage band.
OMG! I just realized. Dave is Walter White from Breaking Bad!
@@gun_toting_lefty "You could have shut your mouth, riffed, and made as much money as you needed, but you just had to blow it up, you and your pride and your ego! You just had to be the man. If you'd done your job, known your place, we'd all be fine right now."
I used to think that too. Daves issues these days has more to do with the present and less to do with the past. ....And, it's not at the entire band as a whole. Its more about the business practices of one particular member of Metallica....Lars! Also, there is a lot of details that have come out over the last 10 years about that firing and how things were handled post-breakup. Not saying Dave hasn't been obsessed, because he sure has....However, a lot of additional fuel has been thrown on that Dave fury by the Metallica camp post-breakup, who basically had been screwing him over. I am not talking about Dave saying Metallica can't use his music, because none of that is verifiable and would be tough for Dave to enforce since the intellectual property belongs to Metallica as an entity. But the other stuff the Metallica Camp (mainly Lars) said publicly about Dave that wasn't true (downplaying Dave's involvement). Royalties that were not initially paid out. Lars taking writing credit for Dave's songs on Kill em All, when he didn't contribute anything. etc. etc. Yes! Dave maybe an a-hole, but there has been one truth that has come out over time, and that is, Dave's track record of telling history has been pretty honest and solid so far. Lars, on the other hand, has been exposed at saying things that weren't true, and has contradicted himself.
The big 4 should make a comeback. It would be pure history. One for the record books. Do you know how many people our age would take their children to go see this? Insane! Definitely worth a tour
my kids wouldnt go ! I truly failed as a father
Kinda hard for the big-4 to make a comeback seeing as Lemmy is no longer around. Anthrax should have never been in that group, IMO.
Idk with whatever is going on with Kerry King and Tom Araya, seems like Slayer would be out. Kinda of putting a damper on "The Big 4" comeback.

Happy about the Marty reunion.
This, turn the page,,,We're all getting too old for this.
M over the last 20 years they have reached out to him a lot and invited him to do things like the 30th anniversary show with them, but the fact of the matter is it’s been 40 years since Dave was in the band. Honestly, it was before they even made it. I mean Dave needs to realize he’s in the second most successful thrash metal band ever. It’s not like he’s Ron McGovney and got kicked out of the band and never got a taste of what it’s like to have a platinum album and play in front of 30,000 people. I don’t think they would be happy at this point, unless the invited him back to be in the band full-time.
Like dude, Megadeth has had a successful run, you’ve sold millions of records worldwide, Metallica is on good terms with you and they’ve done stuff with you in the past. What more do you want? I really thought Dave was past all this stuff but for it to be 40 years in your steel butt hurt because they became the biggest band in the world without you is kind of sad that he’s still obsessed with them like this.
And as far as them saying, he’s not a good guitar player I’ve never heard them ever say that. In fact, I’ve always heard them say that he was a great songwriter and guitar player. And as far as “I’m the one who wrote the songs that made them famous.” let’s be real about this. Number 1 half of the songs that are on Kill ‘Em All were wrote before he joined the band so it’s not like they were sitting there with their thumb in the ass, waiting for him to join the band to write music.
Number two is that they really didn’t become famous because their first album. Cliff Burton was never rich while he was alive. While Clift was alive, they never even had an album go gold. Master of puppets was the first album that really picked up traction and it didn’t even go gold until late 1987. And Dave you didn’t write anything on Master of puppets, you wrote one song off, ride, the lightning, or helped write it, but the truth of the matter is Kill ‘Em All only sold 15,000 copies when it came out. Yeah today it’s three times platinum but it didn’t do that until after the Black album came out.
To say that you are the reason they’re famous because you helped write a few songs on their first album is insane. 90% of Metallica’s fans today weren’t fans until after 1991 and I’m not saying that’s good or bad I’m just saying that there are a lot of people, myself included whether it’s because of age or you just weren’t exposed to them until the band blew up but either way kill them all was not the album that brought Metallica to the world. I think it’s a great album, but let’s be honest about it , it was an underground album until the late 80s and then other songs that you didn’t help them right is what made people go back and buy that first album.
James has said Dave is a great player. IMO Dave is stirring shit up to keep megadeth is in the news to help sell tickets and albums I mean until the new megadeth album came out last year mustaine was never in the news but now he’s in it all the time.

Why does everyone ignore the nuance of what he's saying? Metallica says some disparaging things like "Dave can't play" which is objectively false, and that their early success was based upon work Dave did.
Yeah. I'd be a little pissed too if a band that has enjoyed huge success thanks in part to ground work that I laid out was then going around calling me a talentless hack.
@@OpenMawProductions The only reason they ignore it is because they're Metallica fanboys who see anyone challenging the loves of their lives as a personal insult to them. That's why Metallica fans ALWAYS show up in these comments singing the same old song and dance that Dave "can't get over it" when in reality it is they, who can't get over the fact that Hetfield is an asshole who thinks he's too good to play along the likes of Mustaine. Hell, his drummer is overrated, lost my talent after the Black Album, douche who just can't understand why nobody wants to work with him. Hetfield only sticks around because Ulrich manages all the band's money and he's afraid he'll stop getting paid.
I believe Dave was so truly hurt by being kicked out of Metallica, that he just cannot get past it. James doesn't talk about it much because he's been over it for decades. How long was he even with Metallica like a year or two? Think of all the bands who lose members that have been in those bands for a decade or longer, and you don't see them whining about it forever.
The reason Dave whines is the same reason Metallica won't work with him, it's he's narcissistic and delusional. He even says shit about he and James are the best living metal guitarists. Fuck no, they had their time in the spotlight and literally shaped modern metal absolutely but there is an entire generation of amazing guitarists. Dave lives in a bubble constructed of delusion and ego. I'd love to see his hot take on the next big four. One band that comes to mind is Slipknot due to their impression on metal and yet I could see Dave losing his shit then spouting off a giant monologue amounting to how amazing he is and still somehow dragging Metallica into his own jerkfest.

@@jennyconfer7765 *Megadeth not Megadeath
His real beef and hurt comes from the fact that at one time him and James were tight, and he was never that way with Lars, so when he got kicked out and largely in part for him having a physical altercation with James, among other things, but that was the straw that broak the camels back, well he apologized to James at the time but it was basically Lars who convinced the rest of the guy to kick him out, especially James, and James went along with it, and thats what really hurt Dave, he thought James would except his apology and let it go, and when he didn't Dave couldn't understand why, and why he would agree basically with Lars about kicking him out, that's really what Dave has held on for so long with, he feels betrayed by James

I can imagine Dave's texts to James being something like "Hey James, wanna take a break from stealing my music and do a show together? We'll make a ton of money." and James just reading it thinking "Oh jesus christ still with this?"
This has got to be the very first time I’ve ever heard of anyone ever saying Dave can’t play guitar - and he has always been much better of a guitar player than Hammett
I think let the water go under the bridge! To keep stoking the fire isn't going to make it happen. They both have their place in music and both bands have great fans so.
They mentioned in the video passing the torch to a new big 4, I think before that happens a 90's/2000's big 4 should be considered. I would have to go with Pantera,Lamb of God, Sepultura, Slipknot. I know Slipknot is kind of a stretch for Thrash metal but they do have elements of it. Just the 90's into the 2000's had lot of Nu Metal influence so its hard to ignore. In terms of popularity it does make sense anyway
A shame that they couldn't keep the hatchet buried. As an old fan I was glad to see them getting along. I would also have liked to see the expanded "No life 'till leather" release come off. Disapointing that it didn't happen because of an argument about royalties. Even more regrettable that this appears to have killed the amicable relations between Mustaine and his former bandmates. It's a more complex argument than it might appear because the versions of the songs on the demo are different from those on "Kill 'em all". Reading Mustaines account it sounds as if Hetfield was in the position of having to take a side, Lars or Dave, and that was only ever going to go one way. Only the three of them really know who wrote what.
Lol more stuff that isn't news! But Dave is right! All these interviewers keep asking about is the relationship between him and Metallica and never the music from respective bands. They won't admit it but they keep asking because it's the best way they can get clicks onto their website and they want Dave to say something wild and generate a headline. But really, it's been 40 years! Fans and media need to drop their hopes of Dave and Metallica getting together and doing something. They're two different bands because that is the best way for their careers to function. It's not always about what the fans want.
Dave still can’t get over it. Metallica has no time for him.
I think it's more to do with Lars and not James. Dave has said many times he doesn't like Lars and I'm sure it got back to him. Lars doesn't take no shi*. He might be nice now but he's a business man. And you don't do business with people who say they don't like you
I believe we will see the Big 4 sometime soon..
I will be there as long as I am still living ... and tix are not 500.00 US each.
Seriously is this guy stuck in High School? Some people just can’t bury the hatchet and move on. Dave needs to look forward and not backwards. Man has been successful on his own. What more do ya want? Guess for some, it’s never enough.
where can I get the James Hetfield figure? its awesome!
I'd buy tickets the moment they go on sale
Peace Sells... But Dave's not buying!
Dave sells, but Metallica ain’t buying
If we keep talking about it it's more likely to happen that's for sure. Let's try and make it happen.
Anybody seen the picture of james just as a front man? No guitar? Interesting.
Yea it happened for 3 shoes he still wrote songs on guitar though and had played for 6 years before he met Dave
Can you all imagine a Metallica/Megadeth or Megadeth/Metallica show? Do a coin toss on who starts. I'm a huge fan of both bands and seen both. Is there history between them? Yes, but show fans what well rounded metal rocking musician adults act like and then take the money home to your families after. That tour would sell out so fast.
Just my opinion.
if this did ever happen, they’d probably spilt between who opens and who closes. kinda like Motley Crüe and Def Leppard
Dave just wants to bring the gang back together, and to be cool again. The mustaine hate is really past it’s time (though he did complain long enough for it to be relevant still) but still, he’s matured a lot and I hate to see people not taking his side as often
I’ve never even imagined a big four nowdays. Damn…
Megadeth's from Hollywood and We appreciate that! tone raven
As much as I can understand far as I'm concerned things will never happen the way we wanted the bands will deliver what the fans want but not all bands will do so Megadeth I respect and admire they will give us they're all for us the fans Metallica they will do the same but we'll I guess for once we finally get a new album but performing with other bands like Megadeth Slayer and anthrax another before chances are it's not going to happen
I read Dave Mustaine's autobiography and he went up in my estimation, but now he's returned to the crap he was in.
is this going to on for ever dave should just be proud he created a great band in megadeth and great music yes he was wrongly kicked out of metallica we all know this story a millions times but he should just be proud on his actual acheviments
Oh boy, Dave is back at it again
All i ever see is Dave Mustaine said this about Metallica, but i never see Metallica said this about Dave Mustaine. I wouldn't want to work with someone that keeps bashing me.
Do it for the fans
Having listened to both bands i have a heavy preference for metallica. I like all aspects of them better than megadeth.
I’d pay to go to a show where Metallica opens for Megadeth.
Lars drums would be the smaller kit on the ground which gets dismantled so Mega Dave has room to make his “here we go” Holy Wars entrance.
