@@thebassman8687 I switched to BEAD tuning on my 4 string Ibanez a couple of years ago and have enjoyed that lower register when playing in Eb or D. Will need to get used to the wider neck and having that G back in play. Cheers
You think that the bridge is too narrow for the arm? I mean, the strings above fret 12 are not so close to the bottom and the upper side of the arm. Got a trbx 504 and have been thinking in changing it for a bit more precision.
Truss rod I would have your luthier look at. The string height or action is more personal taste. Some guys like it low where string is right on fret board, some like it higher I am a medium action guy just high enough where there is no buzz but low enough to get clank
One is a short scale and the other is a full scale bass. So it’s tough to say one is better than another for you. I would go for the Yamaha it’s more flexible with active/passive and a full scale bass. Unless you are looking for a smaller bass then get the mustang
Im a beginner and i noticed that the fretboard markers are closer? is that just visually preference? still thinking of buying this guitar when im good enough its my goal!
Yeah fretboard markers are more of stylistic preference. in this case for the Yamaha they are Offset, traditionally they are centered or other shapes like blocks or shark tooth (rickenbacker/Jackson) sometimes they are not there at all, but you always get the markers at edge of neck to help guide you.

The 5 string of this is also very nice it has a nice in between string spacing of about 18 mm if I played 5 strings I would definitely go for that.
