Nice bass!! I love that colour. I just started learning bass last year and bought the same brand as yours but a different model (TRBX-305). Hope you have as much fun with it as I do!

I got my first bass a week ago. Only had to time to practice on the day I got it, but once I catch up on work I will practice. Good luck improving as well.

As for the double humbucker (the pickups), you'll just have to play around with the nobs to see what sound it makes and which you prefer.
Playing is rarely done with nails, so try to stay away from using those to pluck the strings too much. Back in the day a lot of bassists did actually play with thumb, but that is very rare nowadays.
I recommend watching some BassBuzz beginner videos as they're super helpful.
And of course have fun learning! Learning instruments isn't easy, so don't be discouraged when it doesn't work out right away. I've been playing for 8 years and when I started I was very very easily disappointed in how bad I was. Now I can comfortably play more difficult songs and am seeing major improvements as I no longer fret over what I can't play, but rather just keep practicing!
