Cool review, joe 😎🎸 I own Yamaha basses and I currently own on bb bass and one trbx. I was thinking purchasing another trbx. I do feel they’re more underrated than the bb bass. But of course Yamaha basses are indeed underrated. Especially since not a lot talk about these basses. Despite this, they’re great sounding bass guitars and I do recommend them
I currently have a 304 and a 604 and after much comparing, I think the 604 wins. I do like the 304s more aggressive tone but the 604 is considerably lighter whilst still having no neck dive, the flame maple top looks stunning, the tone can be made more aggressive with a little EQing and lastly the active/passive switch & the mid knob instead of the 5 way switch give the win to the 604 for me. But as you say you can't go wrong with either but i wish that 5 way switch was either a mid knob or even a coil split option like the Ibanez 300e line
I have a trbx504 and i love it got it for i think 400 or 450. Imo best bass you can buy anywhere near that price. Especially if you want a bright metallic tone for slapping or it sounds great with a pick for rock. I definitely prefer the matte finish over gloss.
Dude, I feel like you read my mind. You always get the same basses I'm looking into. Started with the TRBX174 some months ago, loving it, and now I'm looking into the TRBX504, the BB434 and the Jaguar Classic Vibe for a future addition. Which one do you think I should buy next?I feel like the BB434 would be a direct upgrade for the TRBX174, while the Jaguar and the TRBX504 would be something different.
I think I need to make a video "why its so hard to upgrade from the 174". I'm still figuring it out but short answer is I'm saving for BB734 now/. I just like the PJ set up but with the active/ passive switch and 3 band eq. I like the 504 but its not a PJ. I kinda think you might want to save for the 700 bb as well if you go that route the 434 is going to be only a small jump from the 174
@@joetspaulding yeah, the bb734 looks like a good choice too, but it's too heavy for my taste. The bb434 felt more confortable.
I came from 174 as well, then when I started playing 5 string, I bought the 305, sold it and got the 435. Now while I'm typing this, I have just unboxed my new 305, I ordered another one coz I just couldn't live without it 😂
i traded an epiphone thunderbird for the yam 304 and I knew before I even played it that I got the better of the trade, never played a yam bass before, my 1st 'real' guitar was a yam pacifica n I miss it, but the 304 neck is soooooooo nice

not an expert but I'd do one of two things..call Yamaha support/psrts/service and order OEM knobs OR find a set you like online just make sure they are metric fit and not imperial/standard

I had the same issue with the 504 switch breaking and some cables disconnecting but some soldering job solved this. Otherwise it is a solid bass 👍
