Bruce Willis, Milla Jovovich, and Gary Oldman star in acclaimed director Luc Besson's outrageous sci-fi adventure, an extravagantly styled tale of good against evil set in an unbelievable twenty-third century world.

1:00 the only time Zorg and Dallas get even close to each other.
Funny that in this movie, the main villain, Zorg, and Corbin Dallas the hero, never actually interact with each other!
Like in real life...
They missed each other by 3 seconds, they also missed death by 3 seconds...
Technically the evil incarnate was the actual main villain. Though even then, it and Corbin never actually "meet".
That would have been a hell of a fight
Originally it was supposed to happen. In the original draft of the script, they we're supposed to run into him and Korben was going to pummel him for everything he did.
Is it me, or is that last detonator seriously a combo lock with an LED on it?
I love it lmao
Good use of household items for props isn’t it?
If I was a, proper nerd, I'd work out what the circuit board that deactivated the bomb was.
Zorg’s “Oh no…” makes this scene.
2:37 “you should hold on” followed by Chris Tucker’s hilariously flying back! 😂 😂 😂
I love the irony, when Zorg blamed the mercenaries for bringing an empty box and gets blown up, he basically eventually gets an empty box and gets blown up.
Typical Boss
There are science fiction films that are above average and I think The Fifth Element is one of them. It has to be Gary Oldman's greatest film performance, but it doesn't stop there. Luc Besson got the best out every actor, even the most insignificant parts were golden performances. For an actor like Brue Willis, it must feel good to have starred in a film that he can be proud of for his acting, but also to have worked with such a stellar cast with everyone else's acting right up there at the top of the heap too. The saddest thing in the world to me is why we haven't seen more films from Luc Besson. It's so hard in any art form for everything to fall into place and making a film must be one of the hardest--there are so many moving parts.
Its to me his last good movie, after that he made for the most part shitty comedies that didnt sold much outside of france and then turned into a producer of action movies.
its a lot better film than it gets credit for being
Too bad Oldman hates most of his movie roles, 5th Element included. I find it funny that some of Gary Oldman's best movies are among those he personally hates the most.
@@obsidiansands GGGGGGGGGGGGGreat to hear from you. One has to be careful about taking stock in what artist's say about their own work in television or multi-media or in print interviews. By saying you hated what you did in some film or on a song or in a painting that people love, it only makes more people go and have a look. It's showbiz and you have to take everything with a grain of salt.
@@tekannon7803 as you say so. while true, he still said it regardless if it was a herring for people to go see them or not. The interview in full can be searched for digitally.

Zorg actually saved everyone on the ship. without his bomb and the 5 minute warning everyone will just be killed by the remote bomb activated by the wounded alien.
I've watched this movie well over a dozen times and that actually never occurred to me.
(Though it could be argued that the megalord [the alien] only activated his bomb to get revenge on Zorg)
How ironic for him
I don’t think you’re correct, if you pay attention you’ll notice the injured warrior turn a countdown dial when setting up the other bomb. I think he set it to 5 seconds on purpose when he realized the other bomb had been stopped and he wasn’t gonna die without his honor - not to mention their beef with Zorg. So he never saved anyone.
Still Zorg helped. They escaped and reached Earth in his spacecraft. This is why I love the movie. Every person played a role in the life save mission. Everybody was the element. Even evil hating the life but still a living being Zorg.
@@user-vu5zn1gi2x Well, at very least Zorg saved the main characters. Because, as we see, they managed to escape at the last moment, with the explosion, but Zorg's actions delayed the explosion by some 15 seconds. Corbin and his team would have been dead if not for the extra 15 seconds Zorg gave them. I get that it was all in the name of Hollywood to get Corbin to fly out at the last moment, but such is the inexorable math... Zorg is a hero! :)
In both "the 5th Element" and "Leon" Garry Oldman ends up in an explosion 🔥
"Everyone!!!"
2:18 does anyone else think the device looks like school locker lock?
Yup
It probably was, chances are they just scifi'd it up a lil, happens a lot in older scifi films, before every single prop was custom made
It probably is just cut the bolts and add a glowing red light or cgi it.
@@magoshighlands4074 Even now most films in general (not just scifi) use common items for props. The number of times where someone has to 'cut the blue wire' on some bomb which is made up out of printer parts, some colored wiring and some random LEDs to make it look scary...
Or the average scene with servers in the shot/background, they just use empty casings with LEDs stuck in them that randomly blink, most electronic movie props are ridiculous...
Anyone else realize that the space hotel broke in half pretty much the same way Titanic did?
Historic referencing
At least everyone survived this time
@@Batou3 except the people who got shot, or Zorg, or any surviving boarders
I'm not gay so I've never seen Titanic
@@johanstinson who said anything about that? I’m not either, there are other videos (including a minute by minute reconstruction of the sinking) that show the final breakup of the ship that aren’t from that film…
I heard that Prince was considered for the role of Ruby Rhod, and it would have been neat to have another Prince movie role, but from the minute Chris Tucker makes the scene, it becomes his movie and everyone else is just along for the ride.
Prince turned down the movie cause he didn't like the outfits.
Chris Tucker deserved an Oscar nomination for his part.

On god. Real bad
One of my favorite movies ever!
This is why Zorg is a boss villain
Well he is a hero in this scene... Those extra 15 seconds he gave Corbin, by deleying the bomb, saved the whole team!

What a phenomenal movie this was...
I always liked the design of the Zorg fighter!
Bunch of great actors! :D
Indeed everyone was golden in this movie 👍🏽
Spaceballs and Fifth Element got some funny stuff and action.
You know, the ship actually exploded because the Mangalores' treasure bomb chest was planted near the ship's main reactor. Or a mile from the reactor.
The bomb of Mangalores look like a pyramid where the movie started.
I like that despite Ruby’s personality and stupidity he was pretty damn useful. Awesome guy. Even with all his faults. He didn’t stand in the way at all. Takes circumstances to change for someone to look past what they think was important. lol, stole the show in the 2nd half I swear haha. Love this movie!
"Pour l'honneur". Excellent.
Wow Chris Tooker is such a drama king is this. Makes people laugh every single time. Best one.
The character of Corbin Dallas, confident, courageous, masculine, bold, trustfully, strong, straightforward, honest is yet to meet. Can't wait to know about who he is.

Amazing a fire and explosion with sound in the vacuum of space.
It's a movie
Being in space doesn't eliminate the shock wave. Once the shock wave hits a an object, be it another ship or your ear drums, a "sound" will be heard.
@@wiplashsmile No , you can't have a "wave of vacuum" , all you can have is debris hitting your craft.
@@robertlackey7212 I always thought that too until I saw a video from what I perceived as a reputable source. From what I remember, it had to do with space not being a perfect vacuum. Who knows, maybe they suckered me in. I’ll look for that video.

it was at this moment that zorg knew... HE MESSED UP!

@0:32 what the hell is that crewman in the background doing? He's just yelling at no one and gesturing to people that aren't there

Is it me or is the woman doing the evacuation warning the same one who did the self-destruct one in Alien?
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s now 7:00pm. Time for the news. See you tomorrow on another adventure.
IT's KORBEN not Corbin.
Zorg might be alive! The movie never showed his body was impacted by the blasts, and there's another small ship leaving the hotel at 2:42
1:06 good thing Zorg didn't see Leeloo, otherwise he would have burned her body to ash for giving him an empty box
Fortunately the elevator doors are closing and there is no time for Zorg to notice Leeloo as well as Corben Dallas, Ruby Rhod and Vito.
@@ised-5239 exactly

I have long had a theory that Zorg's device, in which he slips the card and stops the countdown, is some sort of proximity activation device.
My theory is that he didn't bring the bomb on board. It may have been the Mangalores, since one of them reactivated the bomb. It may also have been the Diva's crew, since the bomb was in the Diva's room.
Either way, Zorg's device simply activated it by proximity. How exactly he knew the bomb was there, i couldn't say.
