    I actually like how Zorg created such a small weapon with so much packed into it and even gave it a feature like a button press self-destruct. It kind of makes sense to put something on there, because if someone were to manage to corner the user of a ZF-1 and decided to steal one for reverse engineering, then the person could decide to blow themselves up to keep it from being taken and they kill whoever wanted it.

    When I first watched this movie, I thought it was a stupid design to put a red button that could destroy the user but now that I am older, I have comes to understand why that was necessary. He's an arms dealer with contracts with the government. If any of his latest model that he was selling to mercenary and terrorists were to fall into the hands of the government, he could find himself in a world of trouble. Added that button without telling any of his clients unless necessary, could remove any connections to him and his company. A smart safety precaution on his part.

      it destroys the user and anything else in range. hence if you wanted to evade falling into nasty hands it would not only prevent that but take some of the enemy with you. terrorists would also like it to use it

  • @houseofpain1010

    It's strange knowing that luc Besson, the director, went on to produce gary Oldman's directorial debut of the famous British "kitchen sink" drama nil - by - mouth in the same year. One of the craziest production - model shifts out there where material is concerned. Fifth element has the budget, but NBM has the poise and hard - hitting & raw structure. Both movies couldn't be more vastly different.

    I absolutely love this movie and have seen it many times since I was a kid. But one point I still don't understand is the villain Zorg's motivation. Sure, he's a typical power-hungry and for-profit villain, but that doesn't explain why he supports a power (Mr. Shadow) that wants to destroy ALL life in the universe. That would affect him too, or am I making a mistake here?
    The same principle applies also for the devil's followers in the movie "End of Days" or for the armies of Thanos in "Avengers Endgame"

    • @blackbeauty2166
      @blackbeauty2166 3 роки тому +6

    • @AdamAubreyGuest
      @AdamAubreyGuest 3 роки тому +4

      My interpretation was one of 50% awe and 50% business. Zorg is a weapons dealer, and Mr Shadow would bring about carnage and destruction. In Zorg's eyes that's a power to respect and also to make money from. In hindsight, yes he probably would have gotten screwed over anyway, but that's what I always saw in Zorg's motivation.

    • @rizon72
      @rizon72 2 роки тому +4

      I never thought Zorg knew of Mr. Shadow's intentions. As a result Zorg just thought he was doing a very profitable business deal with a powerful alien.
