    Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel. Today I’m back with a bumper fabric and pattern haul! These have been bought over the last few months and I’m so excited to sew with them all.
    I don’t have any adverts on my vlogs so instead I have set up a Ko-fi account as I'm working towards buying a better quality camera go improve my vlogs. You can find the details here if you would like to buy me a coffee.

    Great to see you back Liz. Glad to hear that Ruby is on the mend. I love that yellow pleated fabric. I would cut from the top. I could also see that as a pair of wide legged, swishy trousers - it's just fabulous x

      Definitely trim from the top end for any length adjustments since it is already well hemmed. 😊

    It is so lovely to have you back.I hope your daughter starts to feel better soon. With the pleated fabric I would cut it from the waist.. The way I alter it is to measure the amount you want to be cut off and using lots of pins I mark it by pinning the pleat and the space between. Once I am sure of the length I then steam iron the pleats out above the cutting line.You then cut the excess off and the pleats will spring back. If your worried you could cover the fabric not to be cut with a cloth to ensure you don't steam the pleats out that you want left. When turning to make a waistband for the elastic I ,again, pin the pleat and space before sewing. You have bought such fab fabrics I am looking forward to seeing them made up.

    For the quilted fabric I would recommend Grainline studio's Tamara's Jacket. I cut up an old quilt last week and made the jacket out of it. I just added Bias binding on the inside to cover the seams. A lovely relaxed jacket. Lovely to see you back and that Ruby's recovery is well under way. Xx

    Lovely selection of fabrics. For the vegan metallic leather, I would suggest lightly dusting with talcum powder before sewing. Trial a scrap first as it may make the fabric resist staying together. I used a pounce pad and just did the seam allowances as I sewed. A make up brush also works well, as does using cornflour instead of the talc. There should be no problems with removing any excess powder but do check on scraps first to be sure. Different colours and fabric may react differently to what I used. Good luck and enjoy all your projects

    It's lovely to see you back again, and to hear that Ruby is recovering. One of my colleagues tore his Achilles and that's been a full year of recovery but he is back now playing sport. The time passes quicker than you think, especially once past those difficult early stages.
    Sewing and creativity are so good for one's mental health at these times.
    You have lots of lovely patterns and fabrics. That Ruby Star one would make a fab oversized shirt and could then be paired with lots of different garments so you'd get a lot of wear from it. As a dress, maybe that Cocowawa one with the little bows - is it the Anna dress?

    Hi liz I was shown when wanting to shorten fabric straight is to sew a line of stitching using your guide on the machine then cut along that stitch line . You may need to do it a few times as I think the guide on the machine plate is only so long and not long enough for your 50cm . It works and gives a nice straight line xx x ps kind of like when you add guide lines for sleeves before you gather x x

    My first thought when you showed the lovely red crepe fabric, was that it would make a great Rebecca Page Summer Maxi, but then I remembered that she sold her company to You Make Patterns, who only have an Etsy shop now, but it's listed there as the Emma Halter Top and Maxi Dress. It would be stunning in your fabric though.

    • @sew_So_beautiful
      @sew_So_beautiful 2 місяці тому

      Actually, I made a mistake. It's still called Summer Maxi Dress and has Rebecca Page's name above the image. The dress is a long way down the listings of patterns on their site and is like green. That being said though, the Emma Halter dress would be equally stunning in it.

    I recently made a vest using prequilted fabric using Love Notions ClefCoat pattern. It was very fast and easy as a sleeveless option that's not in the line drawings. But turned out great. The only thing I did different on the second fleece version is I cut the width of the neck piece down ½". Or was uncomfortably high in the first version.
    Other than that I love the pattern. First version with a hem-band sewn on Barreto method second version just a straight hem
