This movie in the cinema was wild. It went from the entire theater going wild when Thor entered with his axe, to absolute silence at the end. Everyone was blown away and a lot of people were sobbing. Everyone was absolutely gobsmacked that this was cinematically possible.

At my cinema, the snap shut everyone up. People had been wooing and shouting, it felt electric. Going from that to the snap felt like a dead silent funeral. It's hard to describe how special it actually was. I'm so happy I saw this opening night. And when Endgame came out... wow, just wow!

It's not his "healing factor" Spider-man doesn't have that well not on any super healing level. It was his spider sense. He felt it happening sooner than what it was actually happening. His sense didn't know what the danger was or where from so it went into overdrive so he is the only one that felt bad before it happened.

Yeah, Quill’s maturity isn’t strong enough to handle it. It’s kinda set up in GotG2. Losing his temper gave him the strength to take on the villain. yeah, his reaction was totally in character, and telling him was a fault that isn't criticised as heavily as him losing his temper, even though that could've been avoided too. I think he made a mistake, but people act like it was a contrived moment or makes him a fundamentally bad person - if somebody I loved was murdered right after the difficult moment of having to force yourself to pull the trigger to shoot them in the face, but then they're kidnapped, and then you find out they're dead in the middle of an adrenaline-full fight, not long after finally reuniting with somebody who you'd idolised, only to find out he'd killed somebody else you loved, and then your adopted parent died saving you, I can't say for sure I wouldn't punch someone in the face. can any of us really say we wouldn't have punched thanos, if we actually think of how quill feels rather than as a calm person sitting in our seats?

I just want to clarify the rules of obtaining the soul stone because I feel like a lot of people mishear Red Skull’s words for some reason. He says: “In order to obtain the stone, you must lose that which you love. A soul for a soul.”
He never says you must lose that which you love MOST. It has to be that which you love, but it doesn’t have to be what you love most. The second phrase is also key: “A soul for a soul.” Therefore, you cannot sacrifice an object or a goal like ultimate power or universal peace, which is what Thanos is seeking. It has to be a person - someone with a soul. Specifically a person that you love.

It was warning him of an impending doom, but since there was no way to avoid it, his spider sense was in over drive. There were theories regarding Hulk not wanting to come out. At first, many thought he felt too humiliated after getting so easily trounced by Thanos at the beginning of the film, and that he may have even been scared to face Thanos a second time. But the writers and directors have since confirmed that it's because Hulk is tired of feeling used by Banner to do all the dirty work of smashing things. So he's like, "Nope, I'm out. OMG that's NOT the reason why Hulk doesn't come out. What the Russos said is wrong because they weren't involved with the previous movies. Hulk doesn't come out for the same reason that he leaves Earth in Age of Ultron, and for the same reason he stays Hulk in Ragnarok. He spells it out in Ragnarok. He says to Thor, "Earth hate Hulk". In The Incredible Hulk, Hulk is hunted by the military and destroys Harlem in the movie's finale. In Avengers, he's still treated like a huge liability and Fury even has a cage for him. In Age of Ultron, Wanda makes Hulk go on a rampage, and he sees how much people fear and hate him, so at the end of that movie he and Banner decide to go away and leave Earth. In Ragnarok Hulk is loved by people because of his strength. He loves it on Sakaar. But Banner forces him to change back, then leave Sakaar, then be defeated by Thanos and then brought back to Earth. No wonder Hulk doesn't wanna come out. Also, Hulk is like a huge baby. He's throwing a tantrum and hey he's justified.

That would be a lot for anyone to handle, regardless of age.

People have analyzed the use of each stone in performing the Snap. The Mind Stone probably served as the processor for the whole thing, taking Thanos's somewhat nebulous wish of "kill half of all life in the universe," and translating it into hard results, and also providing an unbiased selector for who died and who lived. The Reality Stone did the basic thing of "turn them to dust," the Soul Stone caused it to be fatal - as opposed to how he disassembled Drax and Mantis but they didn't die - and the Space and Time Stones allowed him to reach the whole universe and make the result permanent - again, when he hit Drax and Mantis with only the Reality Stone, the effect ended as soon as he left. The Power Stone made all the other stones as strong as possible.

Endgame has better singular moments, No Way Home fully appeals to my inner child in the best possible way, but... yeah no, pound for pound, this is just the best movie.

LMAO you're exactly right. I remember how pumped all the kids and teens were when I saw this in the theater, and I remember the complete silence afterwards only being interrupted by the sniffles of children having cried at watching their heroes lose. The absolute BALLS on Feige & the Russos to just stare their generally younger-skewing demographic in the face and say "Fuck you, you lose today", just staggering. I know it's not Citizen Kane or anything but the sheer audacity to make a 21-movie saga across dozens of characters and interwoven plotlines and ACTUALLY get it to pay off the way it did is something worth celebrating.

Yea I think Endgame served its purpose in fulfilling fan service (which was great) but I think Infinity War is the definitive "best movie." I mean, Thanos wins, the team and the world are devastated. There's really no topping that.

I had fallen out of marvel after Doctor Strange, then i watched this movie with some friends because they were going and it swept me back into marvel so hard. I binged all the movies after including the phase 3 movies I hadn't scene. I watched them all a few times before endgame and was fully in the hype for it. Then endgame was the best movie expience of my life. Watched it 5 times in theaters including midnight release and 2 other times opening weekend.

Absolutely loved your reaction to this film. My son was 14 at the time we saw this first showing in the theatres. I have to admit, he did great until we got outside and it was like a damn breaking. me, avid marvel comic book collector, huge mcu nerd and I have been fighting back tears since the dust began falling from Bucky. after he started bawling i couldn''t help it. I was a 42 year old man weeping in the parking lot. Felt like we had just left a funeral home. looking forward to your reaction of endgame.

Hey now...keep in mind we had to wait a year for Endgame! We had to be absolutely broken for a whole year. You gotta wait that 3 weeks for it (unless you recorded these ahead of time and just dropping them on Mondays). Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel are still important. If anything Ant-Man acts as a palette cleanser.

You're right in that Strange could've used the Time Stone to rewind time to fix mistakes
But he didn't. Because from what he saw in that possible future, things HAD to happen EXACTLY the way they did, just for them to have their one chance at victory. Anything less would've simply resulted in their total loss, including Quill not emotionally going ham - he's an easy target for hate simply because he stopped them from getting the gauntlet off, but I think that entirely misses the point of this overarching story.
If it was as simple as getting the gauntlet off to win, Strange would've ensured it happened period... but that's simply not how their one chance went, so I hold no hate or blame for Quill. In fact, considering all else he's gone through - period and recently in GOTG2 - I personally understand and emphasize with him losing it; some people have lost it over less, and it's frankly a wonder he didn't reach such at an point earlier in his life.

honestly, I was more upset with Mantis for speaking up about Thanos' thoughts. She could have kept quiet and Quill may not have known the situation until the danger had passed. But, as you pointed out above, that still wouldn't have been the path to victory

    • @patrickcox8990
      @patrickcox8990 Рік тому

There's also the fact that he could rewind/freeze time but: A. Its localized and B. They would still have to deal with the issue at hand, which was simply not possible. It also wouldn't wipe Thanos' memory so it would arguably even give him an advantage.
