The McGill pull-up technique got me from being stuck at 8 clean reps from a dead hang (103kg BW and fat...) to 11 in 7 weeks. it takes a while to do the training because you literally do 1 rep then 1 rep... then 1 rep... and you aim for similar volume. by week 4 I started double reps... took a full 5 days rest from the gym... ate well... drank a bit less booze... and warmed up and tested and boom gained 3 reps.... singles don't need to be at 90%+ of your 1RM to be effective.. it's as much about teaching the body to work efficiently as anything else..
We're very close bodyweight, last time I checked I was 99kg. 11 strict pull ups is very impressive Years ago I used to alternate each week between pulll, chin and neutral grip. Wish I'd kept this up, but regardless, chins are easily my favourite. I've been dropping weight which has seen a drastic increase in the amount of reps, sets and weight i can now do. 8 is my goal, even if i could do more, just want to be adding weight to 8 rep sets for as long as i can manage. I very much subscribe to the Stuart McRobert training philosophy, although I've been a poor student for a number of reasons, but that's my own shortcomings. But his teachings have influenced my training like no other, and I'm extremely grateful to him and love him dearly for that. Really appreciate your input
You have a very muscular neck...it's awesome...your Adam's apple is very big too, as it it still protrudes from your throat despite the muscular neck...wow😁👍
I've always considered my neck to be wanting, despite training it pretty regularly. Perhaps the lighting is helping it look more developed than it is? Regards
@@garywheat5722Then thank you for the compliment, very much appreciated. My neckflex neck harness has started to fall apart, which is making neck training difficult and a decent neck harness, one that lets you train multi different neck angles, those are very expensive. But you've reminded me that i do need to pull my finger out and get a replacement sorted, so thank you again. Once i do I'll post some clips. Kind regards
@@someofwhatworked4meyou are very welcome, my friend...I look forward to seeing more of your neck...I hope I didn't make you self conscious about your Adam's apple...I think it's great that is big enough to be seen in your muscular neck 😁👍🙏😊
@@garywheat5722 Not at all. Don't usually receive compliments, so take what i can get. Actually went to the bathroom mirror to check out my Adam's apple, even tried a side on view to see if i can see what you see🤔
