The Orioles are proving that new ownership doesn’t guarantee ambition letting Burnes and Santander walk while rivals reload is a masterclass in wasting a golden era... lol
Outside of losing Fried, I don't think there's that much the Braves needed to do. I think, even as is, they're in good shape to win the NL East. What killed the Braves was the injuries upon injuries, and even then they still made the playoffs. If the Braves can get back to where they were for the past few seasons, winning the division is definitely doable.
The Tyler O'Neil signing is a nice fill in for Santader and the Japanese pitcher is a sneaky good deal. Beyond that I'm concerned we let 2 of our good bullpen pitchers walk and have not gotten a replacement. I'm fine with us not keeping Burnes but I definitely want someone else added to the rotation especially in the bullpen because most of our starters haven't done well when pushed to a pen position seeing we have extra 4 role starter type guys. Also Santander's defense has only improved
The Birds may have missed out this offseason, at least there are corrective measures being taken about the dreadful left field wall. Its being moved back in and lowered.
I’m surprised Baltimore isn’t trying to lock up Gunnar Henderson long term. Give players a reason to come to the O’s in future years. I also don’t really see too much of a need to improve besides the SP rotation and maybe a high leverage guy in the bullpen.
the Angelos family warned that that outcome would happen. Didn't explain about the tv deal fallout with the Nationals and how that was likely going to severely cut their budget at the time. Now we know what they were talking about. New owner now has to look forward to a big payout to the Nationals, with the Angelos family, they certainly bamboozled him good.
I truly believe the O's need to lockup Adley and Gunnar so that they're career Orioles, the two of them are the soul of the team, they can make moves for whoever else in my eyes but those 2 need to stay as the core two guys
@@codyleach4151 Then give him a similar style contract to what Bobby Witt Jr. got but even better and one where he can't refuse. More years where he can opt out and more money overall like 450-550 million range.
@@kingcrazycyborgThey didn't offer more per year AND an extra year. They offered an extra year with similar but lower AAV. Which means after taxes: less per year. O's talked big when new ownership came. They haven't backed up that talk.
I warned people last year. Nobody wants to listen on the usetube. They make a slightly higher move last offseason, suddenly they pretend the budget will keep going up. The old primary owner, the Angelos family, still hasn't even left the ownership house.
As a bleed blue and orange Mets fan who lived through the reign of terror of the wilpons(before Steve Cohen bought our team),I was happy to learn that the Angelo’s were bought out and that Orioles fans might again have a reason to hope with a ownership that cares finally. That said,I see that sadly for O’S fans, this new ownership group is not much different from the pathetic aforementioned last one 😢. Sorry O’S fans. You guys deserve so much better 😢.
I’m a huge orioles fan. Been one since I was 4. Obviously it hasn’t been the ideal off-season but I do think they have a trade up their sleeves. A lot of reports about Cease but I think a really under the radar guy that they could pivot to would be Luis Castillo. Mariners need bats in their lineup and Os need pitching. Dare I say they make a trade with multiple of there young pitchers 👀
Tyler O Neill is also a pull happy hitter who will be hitting into Wall-timore (albeit a neutered wall) soo... who knows how well he will do... not to mention, he's injury prone
I kind of understand Corbin Burnes. He's 30, hes K rate has dropped, and yes he had an amazing season, but I could see a potential fall off if he cant keep his control or raise his K rate. I think people are sleeping on Dean Kremer.
Yea but that’s one series you have to go by the regular season stats. The post season slump was unacceptable and sad but that’s not indicative of the offense overall
Without spending on burns or any other free agents it is a great time to secure Henderson or adley ruschman long-term like the royals did with Bobby Witt Jr.v if they don't make an attempt to do so it will not look very good all in all
James McCann for Gary Sanchez seems like a subtraction as well . McCann was a veteran leader on the team something that seems to be lacking more and more, and really needs considering the promising young players they have
Santander is a 2.5 war player, but is likely to regress to a 1 war player. At his age, 30, a $12 mil a year for 3 years is about the best he can expect. I think he wants $20 mil a year for 6 years, and if he provides 3 war a year for a 6 year contract he'd be worth it, but odds are good he'll only give an average of 1 war a year, or less, for the next 6 years. He is probably over valuing himself and negotiating himself out of a job.
True😂. The only permanent thing in life is change itself. We have always had the resources as the big market team that we are,but for the first time in our history really,we finally have a REAL owner. Something our crosstown nemesis have always had. Ownership is everything. Especially in a non salary capped sport. The proverbial baseball GOD’S have finally shone and are shining on our franchise. And by extension,on our long suffering fan base as well. The dark cloud that appeared destined to never leave us nor forsake us seems to be finally dissipating and doing just that🙏🏾.LGM🧡💙
Santander for O'Neill is a step down in my opinion, especially when we're talking about in the clutch and team cohesion factors, but Santander and Prince will always give you over pays my other organizations and I do want to try to make room for Cody Mayo kjerstad and the rest. I would like to see them go after the teOscar Hernandez just because he's so good in the floods

The only reason is because Burnes(who is gone) pitched an amazing playoff game. Without him the pitching might have been a serious issue too. Even if the bats were hot.
not confusing at all. That tv deal going downhill on them makes them have to do nothing, did you see how much has been ruled against them today?? The tv deal fallout is about to destroy baseball salaries in a big way for the players. Maybe not so much Nationals players for a few years...we shall see.
as an orioles fan, i’m not that mad about the offseason so far. signing big free agent contracts is always a messy game, and i cant think of one in awhile thats been really good. i’d much rather use free agent money to extend the young core cause its still so young and will only get better as the time goes on. just trade for one or two starting pitchers and its a great offseason
You guys have already sent away enough young talent in trades for players who leave immediately in free agency. Might want to stop doing that if your ownership isn't going to sign them.
@@Dezzyyy bryce and ohtani yes, but those are hitters and we don’t really need hitters, we need pitchers (corbin burnes is way too early to tell but hes regressed every year)

Tbf, they didn't really need Santander. However, letting burnes walk and not signing a different pitcher on the other hand...
Disagree, Sugano is great and O Neil is an upgrade to santandar
Talking about "Sugano" in 2025 😭🙏
He couldn't perform against the .507 winning pct BayStars in a clutch situation 😭😭😭
If the Braves signed anyone close to O’Neil and Sugano this offseason I would celebrate so much
nah talk about the braves not doing anything
They’ve done some stuff. Like lose soler, their best catcher and best pitcher.

I'm a Mariners fan and you'd have to give up a lot
Yall will never offer anything realistic tbh it won’t happen
Should’ve traded Norby for him last season , idiotic front office
If they do plan to extend their young core soon then it actually makes sense. Get it done, Rubenstein!
Rubenstein did increase payroll
Orioles are playing the game like you can can still find some guy with an animal/hairstyle nickname and have him put in the work.
I enjoy the content man , keep it up 👍🏾
Great job putting Jack Flaherty into Orioles uniform. Looks great.
Thank you it took a lot of work but I'm getting much better like I said🙏
Thank you 🙏
The Birds may have missed out this offseason, at least there are corrective measures being taken about the dreadful left field wall. Its being moved back in and lowered.
Ah yes, that's why they scored one run in two playoff games, the left field wall that they previously moved there was too far

They can’t afford a 300 mil contract 😢

1.flaherty signs orioles
2. pete alonso resigns with mets
3.sasaki signs with dodgers
4.kiki signs with dodgers
5.alex bregman resigns
Since losing Tucker. How are the Astros not Even in the slightest intereted in Santander? He would be such an interesting addition.
Watch the Orioles pull an LA Angels with Gunnar Henderson and Jackson Holliday if this trend of theirs continues

Tony hit .235, 44 HR, 102 RBI. His OBP was only .308 though, and even Heston had .351 OBP in like 100 AB.
