thank you very much for uploading the video, I have my new GT 2017 with same failure some days but I have not remove the cat. Thanks to you I have now something to check
I had the same MTC failure on my GT. In the end, also welded the valve back in. For now there aint a quick fix for this. But there will be soon I think. I installed a Shorty Akrapovic, straight pipe, no CAT also. Its loud, VERY loud!
hello dude! can you please record video of exhaust valve during start the motorcycle?? it's should be litle bit close at the low rpm, and fully open at full gas..?!
There is another video of the valve operating on UA-cam. Basically it is open from idle to 5000 rpm then closes for a 1000 rpm of so, to get through noise regs, then fully opens again. It will have no effect on performance, it's purely there for Euro 4 noise regs.
I had just bought a Remus mid pipe cat eliminator for my 2016 1290 GT, it comes with a small contraption (piece of metal, not a dongle) which requires it to be connected to the servo motor of the exhaust flap valve, doing away with the cables, (meaning no need to weld the valve into the mid pipe...Did your Remus mid pipe come with that when you bought yours. ?
i bought the Remus mid link pipe from Revzilla, you have to specify that your bike is the 1290 GT, because that link pipe will come with a 3/4 moon type pulley to take the place of the OEM servo pulley in the servo motor,
no problems so far except that the check engine light came on, (same as the video shows after he started his engine with no MTC failure, you will notice the check eng light stayed on) but you can reset that by scrolling to settings, then press up andown select buttons at the same time to accees service time, just scroll to the whole cycle then back to the specified odo reading then exit then turn off, then do a normal engine start and check engine light gone
I have installed Servo stopper as well. MTC code was gone for months . MTC failure has comeback. I think battery voltage may be cause. I am replacing battery this week to see. Been having problems last few rides bike starting
used hours searching the internet for answers how to get rid of this. thanks man!

MTC as in, motorcycle traction control?Does the valve close as the ECU detects wheel slippage?
Impressive!!
Does the valve stay open with the cables removed?
Is this exhaust valve on a 2014 1290 Sdr? I cant see any cables or butterfly valve on mine. Where they introduced after 2014?

how does it ride with the valve on ? i am thinking of actually doing this because the bike is very load without it

Where did you buy yours at?
I just bought the same as you James, any problems? Installing it and a Remus Hypercone next week.

did you get the bike re-mapped for the strait through Pipe.?
Kempouk, the bike will definitely be getting a new map as it is running very rich now.
+Aeor ok thanks. I'll subscribe and follow this as it is exactly what I need to do to my sdr
I have a remus end can would I need to still keep the valve in the pipe if I do away with the cat ?
Right now the bike requires the valve there to stop the MTC failure.
No, for £35 you buy a dongle from Healtech that sorts the issue. They also sell an error eliminator to clear the stored ecu fault.
What a shame you had to leave valve on.
Whats the purpose of that valve ? If iam not mistaken this valve does not exist on the sdr
Engine braking. And it only exists on the 2017 Super Duke R.
@@henryhagan9668 It's on the 18 and 19 SDR aswell.
It wasn't when I wrote that comment.......
