I had a music room set up in my house, I played way worse than the set up had. Don stopped by my house right after his encounter to bragg to me but didn't think to ask him to come over to my house and jam and party!. Nope, didn't think of that!. So, I never got to play with Mark because Don was obviously to high to think about his buddy, me. lol. It's just one of those things that ya think back upon and ask, what if. But don't dwell upon that to long. The other is bad enough. True story by the way. Who would make something up that lame.

I really enjoy Mark’s guitar playing the most…the dynamic, phrasing, inhale and exhale, his guitar sings, cry, laugh, screaming, whisper, humming…there is no one can compare!
I love this band and how they have fun playing together. The music is layered so perfect that we can hear all instruments, cheers to the sound engineer, every instrument is at the perfect volume.

I was at one of the Sydney shows in '86 and it was an absolutely wonderful show. Loved the dynamics - the way the music would rise and fall. Superb band! I'm 68 yo and still can't play like MK - never will.

I was born in 79 so it was the nineties I done my growing up and I was always into all kinds of what I think of as real music from previous decades (thanks for older brothers and friends lol) but somehow I missed Dire Straits obviously I was aware of them but more into Pink Floyd, the Who all kinds of music but it was the 20s when a good friend introduced me too them properly and I don't think I have gone a day since without listening Timeless 🎵🎶🎵🎶🤯🤯🤯

Been listening to the Alchemy tour version for years which has the best drumming of all versions but this is so good with the sax brilliant camera close up of Marks fret finger work.
Every single version of this song is different live. It’s like a Sultans of Swing Jam every time, so creative. Bet the dancing goons were deeply popular with the poor buggers sat behind them!
I've never heard this version before and it has a slightly different chord progression to the norm, especially towards the end. Not my favourite version but certainly different

@@Admiral_Pumpout piano plays a few bars that aren't even that different from the usual progression. Rest is the same 3 chords for a long long time.
