Yep. So glad I saw DS and all my other favourite bands before "smart phones" were invented. I would probably be in jail for murder now if anyone had obscured my view of my bands with their bloody phones. Ha ha.
I here you......... But the band themselves record each other on a VHS recorder 🤷♂️😂😂😂 so what came first the chicken or egg! But your right I got to see all my fav bands before smartphones 👌®️🍻😎
I think the 10 thumbs down was over the nail thing...which I thought was frickin hilarious...this particular performance I find very entertaining and funny to see Mark act like he is drunk off his ass trying to be funny...I seriously cant get enough of Mark or Dire Straits...I had a big time crush on him as a little girl...LOL..I still do
People should know who they are, as the music is a mix of various inputs. It makes the actual band (as opposed to only the front men) real. Gordon Lightfoot had a great routine: "I'd like to take a minute to introduce the band." Turns away from the mike, leans toward one guitarist and says something, motioning toward the drummer. They shake hands like they are just meeting. Brought down the house. Then he introduces them for real. Listen to a song like the Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, you see it's way more than just Gordon Lightfoot, brilliant as he was. Notice the guy doing Chuck Berry's shtick where he scoots around the stage kind of hopping on one leg. Berry didn't even have a band. He would just hire a local band, like Steve Miller Band for Winterland. They'd practice awhile then perform. A lot of talent working together to make good music.
How the two guitar players interact with each other at the beginning is exactly how I always pictured my brother and I doing it if we ever got in a music. Just two guys doing what they love and having fun
Ohhhhh my God!!!! What an explosion of joy... coloured party of sounds instrumental dance ...Mark's voice...FANTASTIC!!!!!... Wish i was there !!..Loved the little dancing both Mark&Jack in the end... thank you much my dear Idol and DS Band!!..💥🎸🎶💃🕺🎶🎸🕺🕺❤️💥❤️💥❤️💥❤️💥❤️💥💥
I wasn't even a Dire Straights Fan and I discovered this song before I even had a computer! I fell in love with this band, instantly. It has a Cajun sound. Great dance song.
RIP Jack. Loved your smile and energy and when I was a teenager I wanted to be just like you were in this concert. He epitomised everything there was that was good about music ❤️
Mark and Jack doing the Angus Young chicken walk while playing their guitars was not something I knew I needed in my life, until now. Love the energy. Even Illsley, who was normally pretty stoic at these concerts, couldn't help but join in on the fun. That's the power of Walk of Life, I guess. RIP Jack Sonni
What a Mind-boggling Performance - Dire Straits, what a Fantastic Group! It is impossible to not be impressed, by such awesome, TALENT!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Roland Singh, Canada 🇨🇦
Beautiful beautiful I never get tired of this music from Dire Straits.Sir MK . This is a lovely performance , I like all the others. You are the greatest. Thank you so much, I still keep listening all of you music. It brings me a lot of Joy in my life, 💯💯👏👏🎸🎸🎸🎸💕💕
It does and designed to , but Jesus will make u love life and feel good as this song could ever do and respect and treat folks decent that you may encounter in the walk of life
Yeah so sad that this was the bands last performence. On every street was more like hired touring musicians really and MK seemed bored during that tour.
This is by far my favourite version of this song. My father recorded this concert on VHS back when it first aired on RAGE. As a kid, I then recorded it onto cassette. It was forever burnt into my memory and for about 15 years I could never find it. Then my father reminded me where to find it. Just amazing!
When I coached youth hockey back in the ‘80s I used to play this song in the locker room before games to get the kid’s juices flowing. Still love to listen to it, rock and roll at its finest!
Wow! Did you recorded the concert with any tape recorder? Im very interested in hear the uncut show from audience source. In this case email me please enzociollaro01@gmail.com
One of the greatest guitarists that ever lived ! I have never listened to anything he's recorded that I didn't like. Him and Chet Atkins were something to watch .

My Dad recorded this off the TV in 1986 for me! I was in hospital and couldn’t watch the simulcast. My absolute favourite!
C’est un pur régal de les voir et de les entendre ils sont merveilleux vraiment les meilleurs 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Totally agree - watch him on Sultans of Swing on Alchemy - he's an absolute beast.
I think it adds a lot to the performance when the lead singer introduces the band members to the audience.
It shows real class.
