It was a little flimsier than I expected. I had to add a 2x2 piece of wood to the bottom on the rear side in order to stabilize it better ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxXTh-lz-8W6GcB219vTLp27-MxbZYObBX . It is also starting to bow a little at the outer wall ( I've had it up for about 6 months), I've already had a shelf tumble down because of the bow and the fact that the little shelf brackets are quite short. I went out to home depot and got some longer ones so that the shelves don't tumble down again. Overall, it looks very nice for the price and it holds a lot ( I use it as a pantry). I am very satisfied with my purchase. I just strongly suggest reinforcing it before putting it up.

Thank you. Made a blackout flag, your descriptions worked really well. I also used your technique on stained oak with the matte and high gloss. Looks great and fits in with the furniture, keeping my wife reasonably happy. Thanks for the motivation and know how.

Any time! Glad I could help in my own small way. Be careful with oak, it’s open pour so some issues can arise that I didn’t mention in my videos. More intense sealer is usually required for things like oak.

You should consider installing the hinge inside the case so that it doesn’t draw more attention. Even if it’s mounted high. Great video though

When you can't find black hinges, take the silver ones and sand blast them and dip them in OxphoBlue. It gives the metal a black oxide finish. And dyes really fast.

I like the look of the box, but I would make one change: On the hinges, I would route a chamfer edge for the hinge and just enough of a pocket so that the panel sets tight to the box. Have the hinge mounted with the holes inside the hinge so that they aren't visible with the lid closed. This will make the box much more secure.
