The Piantas are actually colonizers. If you look at Delfino Square from Mariokart DS, you might notice it‘s Pianta-themed while not actually being on Delfino Island, since the vegetation and city infrastructure is noticeably different. You got these autumn trees and Venice-like buildings that posess more muted colors and are built closely together. And since the Nokis are implied to be the original Delfino citizens with their ancient ruins in Noki bay, it’s safe to say that the Piantas actually come from wherever Delfino Square is and colonised Delfino Island, even if their designs match the island‘s vegetation more.
Pianta Village is described as "The ancestral home of the Piantas". You've probably got it backwards, the Piantas colonized wherever Delfino Square is.

Lake lapcat was actually created by Bowser Jr. The bowsers were already chillin' there and when Jr. Accidently turned Bowser into Fury Bowser, he used his magic paintbrush to teleport Mario there. So Lake Lapcat DOES belong on the map
Incorrect Bowser and Bowser Junior flew there via the Airships as evident by the debris and seen in the credits. The paint only teleports people as established in Sunshine.
bowser does have his own kingdom somewhere, it just hasn't been explored too much in bowser's inside story, referring to the map, it is said peach owns the left side of the mushroom kingdom, and bowser has the right side there are also the "bowser badlands" from mario golf toadstool tour, telling us bowser owns large landmasses he dedicates to himself, implying he does have his own kingdom somewhere
@@Eris1987 “You always go right in games.” Not always +judging by things from the perspective of the characters, it is not always right Bowser says “I live here too” in reference to Peach I believe, talking about the mushroom kingdom Which confirms bowsers territory is in the mushroom kingdom The Koopa Kingdom? Bowser is sometimes called the Koopa King, dark land is sometimes referred to as the Koopa kingdom in the show, and there are sometimes (mostly in the RPG’s from what I can remember) points when Bowser or adjacent characters will mention “the Koopa empire,” but this is usually specifically referring to Bowser’s military empire, rather than any specific territory The only other thing I can think about is World 6 from Yoshi’s island Kamek briefly calls it “the Koopa kingdom” However, you have to remember Yoshi’s islands story The Yoshi’s are seeking out Bowser’s lair to not only defeat him and reunite 2 baby brothers, but after each world, they tear down the castles he built many of the enemies seen in this game are not natives of Yoshi’s island, but rather, soldiers of Bowser’s This confirms kamek is only calling it as such because they took it over by force And at the end of the game, kamek and baby bowser leave the island And correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t played odyssey myself, but I don’t believe there is anything say bowser took over bowsers kingdom by force One of the brochure’s descriptions even mentions giant golden bowser statues, stating “The statues are fashioned after gods of wind and thunder, the perfect motif for a sky palace, and since they are modeled on Bowser, the ruler of this kingdom, they serve as a warning to foes here and abroad.” A section titled “Impressive Fortification” explicitly mentions the towers in Bowsers Kingdom are so heavily fortified to protect from intruders, as well as there being legends of cannonballs being smacked away by a spear The kingdom itself, not even the fortress, is called brutal, to the point where tourists actively avoid being hit by cannonballs All of this knowledge about Bowsers kingdom and conquering, but nothing saying he directly conquered it himself Even the enemies that are confirmed to be native to this kingdom, are loyal and willing followers of bowser according to the brochure
@@brendiesel386 while it is from the perspective of the characters you do always seems to go right. I don't think there is really implications it's to the left. I wouldn't say necessarily in the Mushroom Kingdom but rather the continent and the fact while there is several locations in-between them they still basically share this place. In addition Bowser was dealing with the Blorbs just as Peach was. All fungi were affected by the Blorbs thus it wasn't just Toads but also Goombas being affected as wel. _"This confirms kamek is only calling it as such because they took it over by force And at the end of the game, kamek and baby bowser leave the island."_ The thing is this place isn't Yoshi's Island, it's the Bowser Badlands, Dark Land, the Koopa Kingdom. Why you may ask? First off you get here by being teleported off of Yoshi's Island and to the Koopa Kingdom. This place also has his Kingdom's appearance of having little plant life, having mountains, and of course lava. The castles and towers on Yoshi's Island would indeed have been the result of an invading force. But the final world is not, it's the Turtle Tribe's homeland. _"And correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t played odyssey myself, but I don’t believe there is anything say bowser took over bowsers kingdom by force"_ While it's not outright stated as many Mario games do when it comes to lore it's heavily implied. First off if this is the homeland of the turtle tribe, where are all the turtles? Where's all the Koopa Troopas, Buzzy Beetles, Lakitus, Spikes, etc. The most we see here is Spinys. The brochure says the locals are the Stairface Ogres? It doesn't say the locals are turtles or say Koopa Troopas. You also have the industry of this Kingdom being Hanafuda Cards, and the locals wield mallets that appear to be presses like ones that would be used to make said cards. The Statues were more than likely built to represent the greatest of Bowser and symbolize his rule over the locals. In addition all his imagery would have plastered there by him as well, even though it's not his originally. We see his do this very thing to Peach's Castle in NSMBD, statues and all. The cannonballs seem to not have originally been cannonballs. Notice their appearance and how they explode into fireworks. I believe Bowser pulled a Lord Shen and repurposed Hanabi into cannonballs instead of their original intention as fireworks. I also believe it was in the Art Book is was written that Bowser did come to this place and build a Castle here, let alone dev interviews seem to imply this is a conquered place.
@@Eris1987 I bring up the perspective thing because it’s need to know information if you’re making a map I know it’s just a video game and they probably don’t take it too seriously but it’s fun to overthink it Not to mention, this is just plain wrong, looking at specific games The RPG’s and any 3D game come to mind, even the more linear 3D Land & 3D World What do you mean by continent? As far as I’m aware the Mushroom Kingdom is the entire continent according to Odyssey (this doesn’t make sense when factoring in the RPG’s and other games, like where is Beanbean?) But in terms of lore I don’t think a continent has ever even been mentioned I’m aware of the term Mushroom World, a term synonymous with the Mushroom Kingdom, and occasionally used to describe the entire world, as seen in Paper Mario 64’s menu (It is also the name of the location where Mario 3 takes place but that isn’t relevant atm) it is stated in Bowser’s Inside Story that Peach’s side of the mushroom kingdom is the left side, and Bowser’s territory is on the right side, confirming his kingdom’s location (At least for this game) Oh shit oh my God! Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I haven’t played Yoshi’s island in years And I agree this is the Koopa Kingdom However, I do not agree that the Koopa Kingdom is the same location as Dark Land or the Bowser Badlands Very much how Mario has many houses, and Peach has many castles, so does Bowser Dark Land is explicitly located in the Mushroom World, which is stated to be connected to, but outside of the Mushroom Kingdom in Mario 3 The Bowser Badlands has no known location, other than it is presumably within Bowser’s territory However, the sheer size of the Badlands means it can’t be encompassed on the Koopa Kingdom, which is shown to be an island This, combined with the unique geography and native species found on the Koopa Kingdom, make me believe it is somewhere close to Yoshi’s Island At the very least, it’s clear the Koopa Kingdom and the Bowser Badlands are located in separate areas Also we never see the Koopa Kingdom again I never said this is the Turtle Tribe’s homeland I only ever call it “Bowser’s Kingdom” because that is the name of this location in-universe But yes, you are correct Bowser’s Kingdom in Odyssey, is in fact a separate location for all of the reasons you mentioned I’m pretty sure it’s said somewhere that Bowser built the castle in Bowser’s Kingdom from Odyssey specifically for his wedding with Peach Again, correct me if I’m wrong If this is true, this would mean the unique culture present in Bowser’s Kingdom comes from him and his minions, as well as the natives likely And I like the idea about the cannonball fireworks, but it’s not backed up by anything in the game as far as I’m aware Bowsers has always been weird and crazy, he made cannons that shoot soccerbombs at you in 3D World And if he made the castle for his wedding, the fireworks are for the celebration baby! If they did confirm he conquered it, I’d like a link pls can’t find The art book saying he came here and made a castle tells us nothing If anything, it confirms he didn’t conquer it The only meaningful thing they mention about is that he built his castle here, according to you We could say that about every Bowser Castle Or Peach castle for that matter Did she invade because she had to have built her castle prior to the events of any game it appears? I don’t think so
The Mario World is definitely a lot larger than Earth. There is so many different kingdoms and islands all over the world. Like Sarasaland and Yoshi’s Island or DK Island. Then we got every kingdom in Odyssey or the places from Wario Land games and Diamond City from Wario Ware. And Isle Dalfino and technically all the kingdoms from Super Mario Bros 3 as well. (Even if the game is a play) Which tells me the Mushroom Kingdom might not be as big as it sounds. It’s still huge as fuck.

Some random notes while watching: ==Mario Land's bosses are not bad guys. They are brainwashed when Wario takes over the island (Tatanga excluded, of course). Considering Mario Land is a "land" and all the areas are wacky "zones," it's possible that the entire area is more akin to a theme park than a kingdom. Heck, it could potentially be the same "Mario Land" from Mario Party 2, with all of the boards from that game taking place in the skies above Mario Land. ==Daisy Circuit is not confirmed to be Muda Kingdom, but it's got similar looking hills, so that's what people speculate. I think it would make sense. ==The Flower Kingdom actually had 7 guardians that lived in the palaces that you fight Bowser Jr in. The areas without Palaces used to have ones, and they're just mysteriously gone now. The guardians watched over the Royal Seeds, but then felt they weren't needed anymore and left? This is stated in an article on Nintendo's Japanese website. ==One of Isle Delfino's biggest tourist draws is their "succulent seafood." -Could this be referring to the Nokis?- ==Perhaps the ruler of Isle Delfino is actually ruler of the entire island archipelago. Maybe he lives on the Turtle Island or something idk. ==Yoshi's Woolly World and Yoshi's Crafted World are non-canon. Crafted World was explained by the developers to be taking place within the imagination of kindergarteners. This is why you can see elements of a school in the background of a lot of levels. Woolly World takes place in a literal wool universe, so it didn't happen irl. They also don't call the location "Yoshi's Island" or anything, so I don't think it matters. ==Lake Lapcat is just another location on the planet. Bowser & his troops were taking a vacation there. They got there by airships. Bowser Jr used his goop to transport Mario there because he needed help ==Pi'illo Island is actually potentially connected to the Beanbean Kingdom in a interesting way. The Beanbean kingdom has a race of Gyroid-esque people that live in Hoohoo Village. Dream Team introduces Hooskis, which are a related species, and their ancestors left lots of monuments on Mount Pajamaja. The Hooski monuments remind me of the ancient monuments on Hoohoo Mountain. I like to think they were once one species that split off in the past ==Odyssey has an incredible amount of lore, and this can be seen in the brochures of the game. Funny that it was skimmed over because while some aspects of the areas aren't as well thought out, they each have loads of little lore tidbits here and there. Some of which even connect to previous Mario games. With the Lost Kingdom having ties to Super Mario Galaxy, for example. ==And of course, Odyssey has an entire world map that is pretty important in terms of location placement. For example, Dinosaur Land is likely in the Cascade Kingdom. DK Island is likely near Metro Kingdom, etc ==Coolest thing about the Kingdom of Bask is that the ruins are based off of the ruins in Dry Dry Desert and Dry Dry Ruins from Mario Kart. Meaning that the Kingdom of Bask stretched beyond those islands and into the Mushroom Kingdom desert. Really freaking cool ==Tetris Kingdom is obviously non-canon, but that was a really funny tangent. I loved all the tangents in this video. ==Super Mario Bros 3 is canon. It being a stage play is just the framing device. The actual events still happened, and Super Mario World's manual confirms this. ==The Koopa Kingdom is mentioned in Yoshi's Island. The wasteland volcano area that Bowser lives in in the Mushroom Kingdom is the Koopa Kingdom. Bowser's Kingdom in Odyssey is a separate kingdom that he conquered. ==It's likely that Egg Island is home to a completely different Yoshi Clan. Also, Egg Island is no different than something like Sky Station Galaxy, which is an entire space station galaxy that exists in the atmosphere of Mario's planet in Galaxy 2. ==Rap Land, and anything in the Super Show is also not canon lol. Mario is Missing is not canon, it wasn't published by Nintendo. Neither were the Mario & Sonic Olympic games, German Nintendo comics, or _any_ Nintendo comic really. They're all licensed media and therefore aren't things that the developers pay any attention to. Also did you know that the Super Show has a Hawaii rip-off that it LITERALLY CALLED HAWAII LAND?? Hilarious.
I want people to talk about the inconsistently of the Mario moon it dk country returns we see the moon being the same as Yoshi Island depicted it but then in Odyssey the moon is much bigger and way different so does the Mario world has two moons
It has even more then 2 moons Yoshis Island moon is extremly small, DK Returns moon is big as DK Island which is pretty big, and Odyssey moon is like third of the planets size SO all these moons are different
@@nincrony3718 also super Mario land moon is also different so there implication there more than one moon that orbits the Mario world what are the night and day cycles in the Mario world like
As seen in Mario Galaxy, Marios solarsystem has only one sun So night and day cycle are the same, you just might happen to see multiple moons in some places
Yeah all of the games you claims as “not canon” except Mario and sonic are canon lmao Also lake lapcat is a totally different dimension bowser and bowser jr taking airships doesn’t debunk anything
Having never played Mario Land 2, I never knew just how flat out bonkers Mario's Island is. A giant pumpkin, a Mario statue with the three little pigs inside, a castle with a casino with house-sized slot machines, and access to the moon via a giant Hippo who shoots bubbles?
Odyssey sort of throws a wrench into the whole thing. By portraying the mushroom kingdom as a landmass somewhere around the size of australia, it seems really hard to fit all of these different locations in it especially when there's the rest of the world they apparently haven't traveled yet
This always been a thing the mushroom kingdom especially peach castle looks way different in each entry there seems to be nothing at the ends of the mushroom kingdom which is contradicted hard in almost every iteration even super mario 64 peach castle is connected to Mario circuit with pathway leading there
Someone else probably pointed it out BUT The Mushroom Kingdom is so big because it's got lots of viceroyalities. In Super Mario Bros. 3 each 'world' of the Mushroom Kingdom has it's own King subordinate to the authority of Princess Peach, suggesting her vast land holdings are actually 1. federalised, so not entirely under her control anyways and 2. acquired either historically or diplomatically. either way she isn't *exactly* power-hungry, but she isn't exactly not power-hungry either. Incidentally world 8 in SMB3 is the Dark Land and separate from the other lava/volano world 8s in other games, suggesting that it's under direct crown authority much like world 1, but because it's a fairly inhospitable hinterland so directly ruled for opposite reasons.
@11:39 I think it's other way around. 119 Mushhroom coins are equal to 10 Beanbean coins. This implies how strong their economy is compared to the Mushroom Kingdom; perhaps they don't have a certain turtle to constantly destroy their kingdom and making its people recover and reconstruct it every month...
So uhh fun fact the kingdoms in Oddisey are like, REALLY big, you made them small there but if ya did them full size Mario Earth would be double the size of normal Earth if we also add in all the other kindoms.
Alright, but since Wario is a Mario character, and Wario is the star of Warioware, and Warioware has a lot of references and connected lore with Rhythm Heaven, then all of Rhythm Heaven is also cannon to the Mario universe

So like, is Mario's kingdom a vassal state to the Mushroom Kingdom? Perhaps someday we'll find out if Total War: Mushroom Kingdom ever becomes a thing.
16:12 There was beta text found that referenced the supposed mayor of Delphino Plaza, so I guess Isle Delfino is governed by mayors who controll regional areas.
Here's the thing about "Banjo Land", its said that Banjo and Kazooie for their appearances in Diddy Kong Racing actually come somewhere from the north and seemingly Spiral Mountain and the rest is connected, maybe also next to the Northerm Kremisphere in DKC3
Expecting part 2 on my desk tomorrow morning This video was freaking awesome 😂 I had no idea about any of these things and you told the story in such a captivating way
I'm a little sad that you glossed over Mario Odyssey. The world map that you view in that game actually depicts the locations of the mushroom Kingdom and Isle delfino. This means that a full globe of Mario continents is feasible to plot out with a level of accuracy
I find Daisy’s Kingdom, Sarasaland to be the most interesting Mario Location since it’s inspired by real world locations. Nintendo still hasn’t added Super Mario Land 1 to NSO yet strangely enough as of the time of me writing this comment, me and some friends were speculating of Nintendo possibly remaking it, I’d love to see Sarasaland reimagined in a modern light. Happy Mar10 Day!🍄
In an interview with Rowan Atkinson promoting his then upcoming film, Mr. Bean’s Holiday, Atkinson confirmed that his iconic character of Mr. Bean is canonically a native citizen of the Beanbean Kingdom, having been transported to England by means of flying saucer (previously confirmed in S3 E20 of Mr. Bean: The Animated Series). Later in the interview he unveiled that Mr. Bean would be the fourth playable character in New Super Mario Bros Wii until he had an unexpected falling out with Miyamoto and was replaced with Yellow Toad.
I thought we can consider SMB 3 as canon with theatre graphics like, like paper mario by now? I mean, it fits so well into the overall lore, even the SMW manual refers to SMB3 lore D:
Well if we want to get technical, Wario, in the Warioware series, lives in Diamond City (which in all honesty is probably located in the mushroom kingdom but Diamond City does appear to be a costal city so it could just be its own island). The Warioware games also make heavy implications that their games take place on Earth. Luxeville is also a nearby city to Diamond City. Because the Mario series is canonically connected to the Warioware series and the Warioware series is canonically connected to the Rhythm Heaven series, there are a few locations from Rhythm Heaven that would need to be added to the map.
Props for all the effort. I was not expecting that deep Tetris manga lore. Shame about the DK and WarioWare locations being left out, although to be fair, that would've added another third of the runtime.
You'd think that because of the infinite amount of locations that can exist in Super Mario Bros. that the planet they're on is literally the size of Jupiter.

my idea on why isle delfino doesn't have a ruler is that the other resort islands near it (like the turtle and jellyfish one) are all ruled by the same person, so each island is only delegated a mayor
It would be really cool if you did a video about all of the different ghosts in the Mario universe. Not just the boos yknow the guys from the Luigi games too
What about Mario RPG? The Mushroom Kingdom is represented a single town in that among several islands. There's a bunch of scattered towns (one where monsters live in peace). And there's even the kingdom of Nimbus land that is connected to one of them by a beanstalk.
Muda Kingdom with the aliens is a reference to Bermuda Triangle which suggests that Emperess Daisy rules from Egypt to the Caribbean which is massive and also fucked up because she is way too white to not be a colonizer
It's always a pleasure to be reminded of those old Nintendo Power comic strips. Somewhere in my parents' attic is a box with all of those old magazines...
2:01 I always felt like Mario Land was a Disney Land-esque Mario theme park - castle in the middle, differently themed zones, big animatronic statue, casino, etc.
Would it surprise you to know there's a guy who actually looked at almost every Mario game and made a comprehensive timeline of events that actually makes sense? Like, I'm not kidding, this guy looked at EVERYTHING.
I like when anyone makes a video on Mario lore after a while, they go a bit crazy, and say that it's to incoherent and to just play the games yourself! 🤣
What about the locations in Mario RPG? Do they fall under the Mushroom Kingdom umbrella? What about Nimbus Land? I feel like that's technically not in the jurisdiction of the Mushroom Kingdom considering it's above it.

I've watched probably hundreds of Mario videos essays at this point in my life, but I think this 1 is my favorite. It's the right amount of unhinged, entertaining, passionate, and knowledgeable about the source material. I LOVE this
I always kinda thought Dinosaur Land was just a subsection of Cascade Kingdom, home to the few smaller, more peaceful dinos like Yoshi, while the feral T-Rex was left in Fossil Falls.
While in the Japanese manual of SMW it was stated to be a location south of the Mushroom Kingdom this was probably retconned if the Cascade Kingdom Brochure, the Odyssey Map, and the Odyssey Interviews are anything to go on.

it's confirmed by sakurai himself that the characters in smash are not the real characters, but rather toys brought to life by imagination, so nothing in smash is canon to the IPs involved
Sounds like the cowardly way out to mapping the Mario lore
He says that as he's written Palutena directly acknowledging Smash's existence, and Kirby having the Smash ability in Amazing Mirror
@@bepis_realyeah and

@@bepis_real Kid Icarus Uprising is horribly meta and the Smash ability does not literally mean Smash is canon, it's a funny easter egg ability.
Also you are implying Sakurai wrote Amazing Mirror, that was AFTER he left.
i like the implication that yoshis island is basically the jerusalem of the mario universe
The paint only teleports people as established in Sunshine.

bowser does have his own kingdom somewhere, it just hasn't been explored too much
in bowser's inside story, referring to the map, it is said peach owns the left side of the mushroom kingdom, and bowser has the right side
there are also the "bowser badlands" from mario golf toadstool tour, telling us bowser owns large landmasses he dedicates to himself, implying he does have his own kingdom somewhere
Bigger question is did both Bowser lands in 3d world are still intact is there just a big Bowser amusement park that exists
You always go right in games.
He also said in Inisde Story _"I live here too."_
It's the Koopa Kingdom.
The Bowser Kingdom was a place he conquered.
@@Eris1987 “You always go right in games.”
Not always
+judging by things from the perspective of the characters, it is not always right
Bowser says “I live here too” in reference to Peach I believe, talking about the mushroom kingdom
Which confirms bowsers territory is in the mushroom kingdom
The Koopa Kingdom?
Bowser is sometimes called the Koopa King, dark land is sometimes referred to as the Koopa kingdom in the show, and there are sometimes (mostly in the RPG’s from what I can remember) points when Bowser or adjacent characters will mention “the Koopa empire,” but this is usually specifically referring to Bowser’s military empire, rather than any specific territory
The only other thing I can think about is World 6 from Yoshi’s island
Kamek briefly calls it “the Koopa kingdom”
However, you have to remember Yoshi’s islands story
The Yoshi’s are seeking out Bowser’s lair to not only defeat him and reunite 2 baby brothers, but after each world, they tear down the castles he built
many of the enemies seen in this game are not natives of Yoshi’s island, but rather, soldiers of Bowser’s
This confirms kamek is only calling it as such because they took it over by force
And at the end of the game, kamek and baby bowser leave the island
And correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t played odyssey myself, but I don’t believe there is anything say bowser took over bowsers kingdom by force
One of the brochure’s descriptions even mentions giant golden bowser statues, stating “The statues are fashioned after gods of wind and thunder, the perfect motif for a sky palace, and since they are modeled on Bowser, the ruler of this kingdom, they serve as a warning to foes here and abroad.”
A section titled “Impressive Fortification” explicitly mentions the towers in Bowsers Kingdom are so heavily fortified to protect from intruders, as well as there being legends of cannonballs being smacked away by a spear
The kingdom itself, not even the fortress, is called brutal, to the point where tourists actively avoid being hit by cannonballs
All of this knowledge about Bowsers kingdom and conquering, but nothing saying he directly conquered it himself
Even the enemies that are confirmed to be native to this kingdom, are loyal and willing followers of bowser according to the brochure
_"This confirms kamek is only calling it as such because they took it over by force
And at the end of the game, kamek and baby bowser leave the island."_
The thing is this place isn't Yoshi's Island, it's the Bowser Badlands, Dark Land, the Koopa Kingdom.
_"And correct me if I’m wrong, I haven’t played odyssey myself, but I don’t believe there is anything say bowser took over bowsers kingdom by force"_
While it's not outright stated as many Mario games do when it comes to lore it's heavily implied.
@@Eris1987 I bring up the perspective thing because it’s need to know information if you’re making a map
I know it’s just a video game and they probably don’t take it too seriously but it’s fun to overthink it
Not to mention, this is just plain wrong, looking at specific games
The RPG’s and any 3D game come to mind, even the more linear 3D Land & 3D World
What do you mean by continent?
As far as I’m aware the Mushroom Kingdom is the entire continent according to Odyssey (this doesn’t make sense when factoring in the RPG’s and other games, like where is Beanbean?)
But in terms of lore I don’t think a continent has ever even been mentioned
I’m aware of the term Mushroom World, a term synonymous with the Mushroom Kingdom, and occasionally used to describe the entire world, as seen in Paper Mario 64’s menu
(It is also the name of the location where Mario 3 takes place but that isn’t relevant atm)
it is stated in Bowser’s Inside Story that Peach’s side of the mushroom kingdom is the left side, and Bowser’s territory is on the right side, confirming his kingdom’s location (At least for this game)
Oh shit oh my God! Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I haven’t played Yoshi’s island in years
And I agree this is the Koopa Kingdom
However, I do not agree that the Koopa Kingdom is the same location as Dark Land or the Bowser Badlands
Very much how Mario has many houses, and Peach has many castles, so does Bowser
Dark Land is explicitly located in the Mushroom World, which is stated to be connected to, but outside of the Mushroom Kingdom in Mario 3
The Bowser Badlands has no known location, other than it is presumably within Bowser’s territory
However, the sheer size of the Badlands means it can’t be encompassed on the Koopa Kingdom, which is shown to be an island
This, combined with the unique geography and native species found on the Koopa Kingdom, make me believe it is somewhere close to Yoshi’s Island
At the very least, it’s clear the Koopa Kingdom and the Bowser Badlands are located in separate areas
Also we never see the Koopa Kingdom again
I never said this is the Turtle Tribe’s homeland
I only ever call it “Bowser’s Kingdom” because that is the name of this location in-universe
But yes, you are correct
Bowser’s Kingdom in Odyssey, is in fact a separate location for all of the reasons you mentioned
I’m pretty sure it’s said somewhere that Bowser built the castle in Bowser’s Kingdom from Odyssey specifically for his wedding with Peach
Again, correct me if I’m wrong
If this is true, this would mean the unique culture present in Bowser’s Kingdom comes from him and his minions, as well as the natives likely
And I like the idea about the cannonball fireworks, but it’s not backed up by anything in the game as far as I’m aware
Bowsers has always been weird and crazy, he made cannons that shoot soccerbombs at you in 3D World
And if he made the castle for his wedding, the fireworks are for the celebration baby!
If they did confirm he conquered it, I’d like a link pls can’t find
The art book saying he came here and made a castle tells us nothing
If anything, it confirms he didn’t conquer it
The only meaningful thing they mention about is that he built his castle here, according to you
We could say that about every Bowser Castle
Or Peach castle for that matter
Did she invade because she had to have built her castle prior to the events of any game it appears? I don’t think so
The Mario World is definitely a lot larger than Earth. There is so many different kingdoms and islands all over the world. Like Sarasaland and Yoshi’s Island or DK Island. Then we got every kingdom in Odyssey or the places from Wario Land games and Diamond City from Wario Ware. And Isle Dalfino and technically all the kingdoms from Super Mario Bros 3 as well. (Even if the game is a play)
Which tells me the Mushroom Kingdom might not be as big as it sounds. It’s still huge as fuck.
Don't forgot about the Mario kart tracks and Mario party stuff they had a board casually say it a entire universe
No you’re underestimating just how big earth is. It’s possible for this many places to exist on an earth-sized planet
The Mario World expands every time a new Mario game came out with a new location.
I don’t think you understand just how massive that surface of the earth is
the fact that daisy is an empress actually makes me like the character a bit more
and all the political stuff makes me want to create a game or animated series that outlines the geo-politics of the mushroom world
@@atlastankerwe need a webcomic just following the political hijinks. can you imagine queen bean, prince florian, peach, and daisy trying to make trade deals?? what if someone imposed tariffs??? the possibilities are endless.
Peach and Daisy are empresses and Bowser is a emperor by technicality, but they all give themselves the titles of princesses and king.
@@Eris1987 how is bowser an emporor?
@@SuperJxl he is by technicality similar to Peach and Daisy.
Bowser rules over characters like King Bob-omb, King Whomp, and King Boo for examples. They are his underlings his minions.
44:40 another point that it isn't the real world actually comes later in the shows. When you get to Mario Bros 3 televison series they actively go to the real world multiple times. Princess Peach herself even calls it the "real" world
I will forever see yoshi’s island as the Mario holy land because of this video thank you 😊
When people thought there was gonna be dlc for Mario odyssey I thought some of the old locations would come back
Seeing as that peach owns so much land it makes me fear her now
Where Odyssey takes place is actually West of Isle Delfino proven by the game’s early map
10:40 so you have to jump a border to see a bunch of beans 🤨😂 interesting
I got it, I figured it out Florian is the leader of the flower Kingdom out of convenience for its people. He is a caterpillar which will later turn into a butterfly which is a pollinator. They are protecting and praising him in hopes that once he becomes an adult he can help them all get their freak on and weird flower ways
Some random notes while watching:
==Mario Land's bosses are not bad guys.
==One of Isle Delfino's biggest tourist draws is their "succulent seafood."
-Could this be referring to the Nokis?-
==Perhaps the ruler of Isle Delfino is actually ruler of the entire island archipelago.
Bowser Jr used his goop to transport Mario there because he needed help
==Pi'illo Island is actually potentially connected to the Beanbean Kingdom in a interesting way. I like to think they were once one species that split off in the past
==Odyssey has an incredible amount of lore, and this can be seen in the brochures of the game.
DK Island is likely near Metro Kingdom, etc
==Coolest thing about the Kingdom of Bask is that the ruins are based off of the ruins in Dry Dry Desert and Dry Dry Ruins from Mario Kart. Meaning that the Kingdom of Bask stretched beyond those islands and into the Mushroom Kingdom desert. Really freaking cool
==Tetris Kingdom is obviously non-canon, but that was a really funny tangent.
It has even more then 2 moons
Yoshis Island moon is extremly small, DK Returns moon is big as DK Island which is pretty big, and Odyssey moon is like third of the planets size
SO all these moons are different
@@nincrony3718 also super Mario land moon is also different so there implication there more than one moon that orbits the Mario world what are the night and day cycles in the Mario world like
As seen in Mario Galaxy, Marios solarsystem has only one sun
So night and day cycle are the same, you just might happen to see multiple moons in some places
Yeah all of the games you claims as “not canon” except Mario and sonic are canon lmao
Also lake lapcat is a totally different dimension bowser and bowser jr taking airships doesn’t debunk anything
Having never played Mario Land 2, I never knew just how flat out bonkers Mario's Island is. A giant pumpkin, a Mario statue with the three little pigs inside, a castle with a casino with house-sized slot machines, and access to the moon via a giant Hippo who shoots bubbles?

In the words of Ultrakill developer Hakita, "wouldn't it be fucked up if there was a minotaur?"
saying “super mario bros 3 isnt canon” right after the in-depth explanation of the mario tetris manga is so fucking funny lmaoo
Odyssey sort of throws a wrench into the whole thing. By portraying the mushroom kingdom as a landmass somewhere around the size of australia, it seems really hard to fit all of these different locations in it especially when there's the rest of the world they apparently haven't traveled yet
This always been a thing the mushroom kingdom especially peach castle looks way different in each entry there seems to be nothing at the ends of the mushroom kingdom which is contradicted hard in almost every iteration even super mario 64 peach castle is connected to Mario circuit with pathway leading there
tbf, australia is actually fucking huge, so it's not necessarily impossible for that to be the case
Ngl, Bowser and Jr. Walking into the baseball kingdom like that goes so incredibly hard for no reason.

Thank you for making this.
Four months without Carlito... what is he cooking?
He's making a video rn trust. He just told me

Someone else probably pointed it out BUT
The Mushroom Kingdom is so big because it's got lots of viceroyalities.
Kept me hooked for the full 45 minutes, great editing as always dude!
I think about the expanded universe with diamond city, the dkc places and rare places connected through diddy kong racing more than I care to admit
And then because Banjo and Conker are in Diddy Kong Racing that means their lands are also part of this World.
@@matane2465I think one of the guys from rare said banjo and conker aren't connected to mario though

We miss you Carlito
Here's the thing about "Banjo Land", its said that Banjo and Kazooie for their appearances in Diddy Kong Racing actually come somewhere from the north and seemingly Spiral Mountain and the rest is connected, maybe also next to the Northerm Kremisphere in DKC3
This came out at the perfect time considering the Mario movie 2 announcement
Expecting part 2 on my desk tomorrow morning
This video was freaking awesome 😂 I had no idea about any of these things and you told the story in such a captivating way
I'm a little sad that you glossed over Mario Odyssey.
Dude, you're hilarious. I'm definitely checking out more of your videos.
I thought we can consider SMB 3 as canon with theatre graphics like, like paper mario by now? I mean, it fits so well into the overall lore, even the SMW manual refers to SMB3 lore D:
Except Paper Mario is its own separate canon, since Paper Mario can crosso over with the actual Mario and Luigi
As explored in the super mario 3 show mario and friends go to the "real world" by pipe meaning the mario world is a diffrent universe
This video is actually really fucking good. Hilarious but also "educational" (although on a topic i will never use) and high effort. Reminds me of Samonella. Thank you for filling this rare niche
Love the humor in this one, keep up the good work brother
In the Mario movie it takes place in the real world and Mario and Luigi go through an inter dimensional pipe leading to the world Mario and friends live in
bro, i'm so mad you didn't even give an ASIDE for the joke theming of Beanbean locales. Hoohoo Mountain? Guffawha Ruins? Teehee Valley, JOKE'S END?

dope af video beyond that hell yea
Wow this video is actually incredible! I’d like to see the same type of video for sonic :)
A bit surprised you didn't get into how the Flower Kingdom actually first showed up in some 80s Mario anime
my idea on why isle delfino doesn't have a ruler is that the other resort islands near it (like the turtle and jellyfish one) are all ruled by the same person, so each island is only delegated a mayor
1:29 well does peach even own all the land
It would be really cool if you did a video about all of the different ghosts in the Mario universe. Not just the boos yknow the guys from the Luigi games too
Everyone in land 2 weren't originally enemies. Wario hypnotized them to be.
What about Mario RPG? The Mushroom Kingdom is represented a single town in that among several islands. There's a bunch of scattered towns (one where monsters live in peace). And there's even the kingdom of Nimbus land that is connected to one of them by a beanstalk.
The amount of work you put in for our entertainment is crazy. Thanks man ❤
really awesome video, seriously, it really helps us to understand this world and like, to give us ideas to make our own worlds
16:24 maybe the mayor is the ruler of the entire island maybe its a city state and the mayor owns the entire island
this is one of my fav videos of all time
There's a whole universe out there

I see you
This was pretty fun, glad it was recommended to me, I subbed
Muda Kingdom with the aliens is a reference to Bermuda Triangle which suggests that Emperess Daisy rules from Egypt to the Caribbean which is massive and also fucked up because she is way too white to not be a colonizer

I love your sense of humor, especially the dry delivery.
Someone talks about sluggers finally.
THE KING CARLITO IS BACK!!!!
2:01 I always felt like Mario Land was a Disney Land-esque Mario theme park - castle in the middle, differently themed zones, big animatronic statue, casino, etc.
Carlito, you humor is so unique. Thank you for another amazing video!
I’m a simple man I see Carlito pop up? I watch
Yoshi woolly world and crafted world are probably cannon since paper Mario is a separate cannon character due to the Mario and Luigi game he appears in. Wait that means Miitopia is cannon because of Mario kart. And if that’s true then so is all of the legend of Zelda and animal crossing. If space is a thing then might as well have Metroid, Star fox, and f-zero.
Tetris nukes are the best Mario lore I've ever heard.
