- I am very happy how my M3 now looks. It was kind of a fun project. Although ... I was expecting it to be a bit easier.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Next upload is tail lights on / code inspection / final thoughts.

He got the dinan 😮💨😮💨
Definitely looks better . I've been looking for similar wheels . Can you give me some info on them ? Any rubbing on fenders ?
Thanks!
My wheels are from a 2006-2010 M5 / M6 E63 / E64. I have a wheel spacer on the back. Front wheel alignment is good stock.
Here is a set on ebay.

My tires are 255/35R19 front and 295/30R19 rear. They do not rub but I would not go bigger. I like the way these look a lot. Especially with the wide tires and the 295 wide in the rear looks so good from the back. Driving is very sure footed.
I am thinking of getting a second set of 17" forged light weight wheels with much thinner tires. This would help for accelerating and increase the looseness and overall driving dynamics. Rotational weight makes a big difference.
Let me know what wheels and tires you end up getting.
Did you need to replace or reprogram the LCM? I've heard that pre 2003 models might need that.
I did not need to change or reprogram the light control module. These lights from Eagle Eyes only fit the E46 M3 on March 2003 or older.

I think you are right on in your thought process that if I got this kit for a April 2003 or newer they would not work or they would need some recoding and some soldering /adaptors. But for those newer E46 M3 you have the already nice stock led rear lights. If they needed to be replaced you could just do a simple swap out. They are more expensive though.
Anyway, happy modding!
Hey, i have question if u could help me. U didnt pack all those vires in the new lights in trunk, i have the same problem, i cant put the original plastic cover in trunk now.
Hey Voznarg,
Mine is still not tiddy!!! 😅
I am planning to have a solution come to me but nothing has yet.
I will probably have to do some careful small cuts and use zip ties. It feels like if the wires were longer I might be able to find a better mounting location for the new electronics. So I may end up cutting and soldering in a few inches of wire extension???
I will try to get back with you if I figure out a good solution. 🙂

@@jonathanreinke9392 Thank u so much on your answer, i hope we think on the same part, black plastic that goes in trunk behind taillight. English is not my native language so i strugle a littlle bit while i explain. Sorry. I love ur videos, i have e46 coupe, with lot of M parts.
Nice!
Does the part you are thinking of have the interior trunk lights on it? If so that is the part I still need to figure out. 😄
@@jonathanreinke9392 yeah it has lights on, u said in video that hose lights are not led, but u dont mind because u dont need too much light in trunk anyway
Can someone tell me the name of this part of the plastic that the author holds in his hands 7:35
Hey HanGry,
I got these parts from ECS. Other places have then too. These ones are the OEM BMW ones and they took some time to install. Main reason to get new ones is if your old ones are worn out or have dry rot.

Thanks for the watch and question.
@@jonathanreinke9392 ok thank you very much for the information💪
Because I'm looking for this item very much and I didn't know how to describe it on the internet thanks
@@jonathanreinke9392 In general, I have the old ones on earlier lamapch but I can't take it off for the sake of it, I don't know if it's somehow glued or something?
I thought my older ones were bad that is why I ordered new ones. Turns out they were not that bad. As I am doing a full front and back light replace and with the rubber being 21 years old I decided to keep the parts I ordered and install them.
My tail light side pannels also looked difficultly to remove so I am glad I had the parts with me. Maybe my old ones are glued too, not sure but they are definitely on there. 😅
Any coding needed?
Hey Darik,
For my 2001 M3 I did not need any codes. The dash is clear with no rear tail light indicator lights on.
I still need to tiddy up the wires and some mounting. I have not done it yet because the work great ... maybe next week. 😄
Thanks for the compliment on the tail lights. They look better to me every day. I am very happy I did the upgrade.
Wheels? Are you referencing my M6 wheels? I like them.
I am open to suggestions so if you are referencing something elts let me know.
Please get rid of those wheels! Nice upgrade on the lights
