    There are so many skilled IT workers that undervalue themselves.
    I started in IT making more than employees that had been with the company for 6 years. Because I knew my worth.
    I just left that company and increased my pay by 20%.
    Don't let anyone define how much you're worth. That's for you to define.

    Kevin Thank you so much for your videos and everything that you Do! I got hired and got my first IT job last summer all because of your inspiration before I even got my AAS as IT technician. I watched your IT tech interview tips video at that time and I am the only girl ever worked in their IT department:) you cant imagine how I'm grateful that I came across your videos in UA-cam. Thanks Iryana

    Thanks for the video!!! In my heart I'm a computer geek and love it. I've had a home lab since the late 90s when I was in middle school. I have a good job making $42 an hour building ships for the military but I totally hate it.. us computer geeks know how to figure stuff on our own and I took that mindset to the trades and made good money. But now my body is starting to hurt and I'm thinking of getting a basic helpdesk job just for a foot in the door since I'm not hurting for money.

    Man I’m going on my second year with a Service Desk job , currently taking my CCNA exam next month! Was unsure about whether I wanted to move forward with IT once I got my foot in the door. Glad I made the decision. Nice vid Kev!

    Wow this is the realist video I’ve seen. Everything I’ve seen online is so generic! It’s dope to see a real person on here talking about what it’s really like! I really want to get into data analytics but I’m so apprehensive to get more schooling. So I started looking at certificates instead of a degree.

    You know what, I had to show my current employer an offer I got for 105k starting, for them to realize that was what I was worth. Busting my ass, going beyond and above the scope and level of my job, and they didn't give me a raise. Another company did... so I signed the offer letter yesterday. I'm going from 60k to 105k... it almost feels unreal. But they like my ideas about CRM and how it's not all about sales, but, as you said, getting things done in a way that the customer can appreciate and communicating the work in a way the customer can relate and understand. It wasn't even my IT skills they were after, it was customer service.

    The age old predicament-need experience to have experience. I am graduating this December with cybersecurity and information risk assurance. Should have pursued internships harder (did some but not related to cybersecurity ). All I can do is lab and projects. It’s gonna be insanely hard to get into cybersecurity without IT experience. Just need the foot in the door. Worse case scenario, I’ll do IT for a few months if no luck in getting interviews. Thank you for all your advice 👍

    Six figures in one place it’s not the same value as six figures in another place because of standard of living.
    For example, San Francisco, California versus the Midwest or the East Coast.
    Lol.

      That's true. Guy I trained in Texas got his first job in IT making 95k. I live in NY so my salary will be high but it's possible to do this in other states.

    • @NothingButFactsToday

      How you spend you 6 figures is up to you. Its your choice where you live and financial management.

    • @KevtechITSupport
      @KevtechITSupport  Рік тому

      I live in NY but it's hard to make 6 figures in the US. Look that up. You can definitely make 6 figures if you spend time learning the right skills.

    • @mikefromit3391
      @mikefromit3391 Рік тому

      @@KevtechITSupport I wouldn't say it's all that hard to find a 6 figure job, especially in the high COL areas like NYC, San Francisco, and Seattle. All the jobs within those HCOL areas have inflated salaries just so people can scrape by at the end of the day. Even the very entry level jobs have much higher than normal salaries due to this.

    • @KevtechITSupport
      @KevtechITSupport  Рік тому

      @@mikefromit3391 doesn't have to be an expensive area like NY or California. Just need the right skills and know how to market yourself. Which is the point of this video since a lot of people under valued themselves.

      @mikefromit3391 Рік тому
