I am from H-town. I've been in help/service desk for 6 years. My job tittle is service desk specialist, but I am really a sys admin. I make 70k with bonuses. You have to grind your ass and be wanting to learn always. When you have passion for this stuff it comes with time. Your just lazy tech if you don't think you can make money in help desk!
No college, just certs
Yep
Bro Im from h town near nrg stadium. Maybe I can job shadow you or be your apprentice? I really want to go for it/cybersecurity career
Any entry level positions open? I've been looking for a job in the Houston area with no luck.
@@On3Vic talk to job recruiters, hiring managers. Houston is hiring.
From Dallas, get paid 39k for IT help desk technician. I have A+ and Google IT support. It's my first job in IT after graduating with a bachelor's (major in liberal arts). Hoping one day I can use my bachelor's to work close to my bachelor's but in an IT aspect.
Guy I helped was based in Dallas. He makes 95k but he has a bachelor degree with no certs. nice job Stray on getting that role.
experience with ticketing systems? its just a few clicks and a description. we had the most complicated ticketing system (servicenow with tons of mandatory fields.) and we all learned it.
Yep
This. Video. IS. gOLD!!!!
Nice work Kevin.
Thanks 👍
Excellent insite on job descriptions.
Thanks
Love your desktop wallpaper with the recycle bin under the desk.
great video, glad you also mentioned the difference between companies, experience and location.
pretty difficult to know your worth as a beginner,
do you recommend working with recruiters or do you have any pointers on how to measure how much your worth to prepare for interviews?
great tip on tailoring our resume for a specific job description.
stay awesome
Thank. Job recruiters can definitely help. I would do research on your local area and see what the salary range in that state and go based on that when it comes to marketing yourself.
Love from India ❤️🙏
2 jobs at the same time makes sense for the company wanting to cut costs. "hm, we only have to pay one salary and benefits package if we have this one person do two jobs" 😂
nice video
Thanks
Do you prefer the remote or on sight help desk jobs? What are the disadvantages and advantages of both? Do you have a video about this cause im kinda stuck up on what would be best for me
I like hybrid because I don't like being home 24/7.
I used the sybex practice tests for the comptia a+. I studied many many hours and was consistently getting 85-90% on the sybex practice tests. Over 670 questions for the 1001 alone. Today I failed that 1001. So much of that test was not covered at all by the 670 question sybex practice. Don't get sybex, it's complete trash. So disappointing. I spent atleast 100 hours studying those practice tests
So did you by the sybex books or videos why didn't you just by the official comp tia.a+ study materials
@@celestialarmor695 offical comptia was was way more expensive. Did think sybex would be so far off from the actual test.
jason dion practice exams were fire, helped me pass the N+
@@udi112 which ones did you use?
Myke Meyers comptia practice test, and other youtuber, the test it self changes over time so I am using the current practice test plus some other books
I am from Georgia just now finishing up a Network Specialist degree what would you say would be a good starter roll for me to pursue also no certs
I don't have a degree but if you have network admin degree. I would learn the skills needed to do noc and apply for noc roles.
Can you make a video like this for entry-level jobs requiring no experience?
A lot of jobs in helpdesk require no experience.
Bro if your choose one of the position what would you prefer and why?
Me. Teaching. I prefer teaching full time on UA-cam rather than working full time.
What are some MSPs in the US?
blog.feedspot.com/msp_blogs/ there you go
@@KevtechITSupport Thank you!
How about the IT comparisons between helpdesk, Helpdesk techs, Jr. net Admins and the other side of the IT spectrum, web developers, programmers/coders.
Lol. There is a very large discrepancy between the two sides of IT.
This is just the support side of things nothing to do with coding. I don't do coding which is why I don't go over it.
what is MSP? you said it a couple times
Manage service provider.
@@KevtechITSupport what does that mean?

Work authorization does not mean you have to be born in the states. It means you need work permit or green card
Can mean anything actually but good to know
