That’s awesome with your Peony! I have a similar story. When we bought our house it had a beautiful rose bush. My father loved roses so we both waited year after year & no blooms. My Dad asked if I knew the color - there wasn’t even 1 bud. I didn’t know. For 11 years this rose bush never bloomed! It was hearty so I kept it. My father passed away in December. On June 9th the following year from one day to the next my rose bush exploded literally overnight with the most beautiful red blooms. This color red is not a common red. It was my Dad’s favorite color! 12 years later it finally bloomed. The date it opened was a hard day because that same day a year prior started the decline of my Dad’s health & hospitalization. It was a sweet embrace & filled my heart with peace & comfort. I enjoyed today’s video - thank you. 😊
One thing that brings me joy is being notified you have up a new video...but I do love going back for all.of your previous videos....THANK YOU for spreading JOY!!
Yes! So thankful for this season in my life when I can enjoy details and “special cups” inside my home and nature outside even on days that include chores, errands, and not so fun projects. Retiring unexpectedly at 60 five years ago has been such a gift. Good to know I have kindred spirits who are also happy to enjoy home and creative homemaking without the demands and pressures of a full time job outside the home. BTW I never measure the lattice for pies. ☺️
Thanks for that--I never measure either. Actually, shamefaced to admit this, but I typically do not do the lattice part either. My bad, but it tastes the same....
Wow Linda what a fabulous video, loved the beautiful Peonies in your garden, the Hummingbird, Moth, Chipmunk, the peaceful cemetery & of course watching Willow enjoy her walk. I love the gorgeous evening lamps attached outside to your house. So relaxing to watch. One of my joys this week was to successfully crochet a pair of pink baby booties that I followed on YT. Thank you.😊
Beautiful cup and saucer. Adorable chipmunk. Love visiting old cemeteries to do rubbings and read the inscriptions on the stones. This video was a lovely way to start my day.
This video inspired me to take the time throughout the day to feel gratitude for all the small moments. I will jot, on a monogrammed note paper, my moment of joy, and collect them in a pretty box by my bedside. If I find myself having a challenging day, I can simply revisit those special seconds of time. Thanks for reminding us of the beauty and joy that surrounds us!
Absolutely love your videos, Linda. And, you allow those of us who were immigrants at the start of our country to reconnect to New England, where we probably landed many years ago, gives us much joy. Thank you!!
Love the small joys! They are the important ones. We love old cemeteries too. Whatever state we are in we go walk around them we enjoy looking at the stones and the beautiful shrubbery. Thank you for bringing us along.
Your home and grounds are just beautiful. You remind us there is beauty and simple things all around us to enjoy no matter where we are. Thank you for a relaxing and tranquil vlog!
Good morning Linda! I grew up with cows in the pasture right behind my house on my friend’s grandfather’s farm. Cows are interesting characters for sure! Right now, I have a Mama house finch nesting on a front porch pillar. Birds are interesting to watch, too! I see her waiting with patience and perseverance with the expectancy of her babies! It is the little things in life that are forgotten by so many anymore. Thank you for sharing the small moments to enjoy in life! 💕
It seems we enjoy many of the same things. Just love the story about your wedding and the peony what a blessing. my daughter lives in New Hampshire Charlestown to be exact and we are midwesterners in Wisconsin. So I very much enjoy going to your area to visitor her, with history at every turn. We bought a house that was from the late 1800s and this was 30 years ago anyway it was about 100 years old when we bought it and our insurance lady had a fit about it being so old. So our history here is just not like yours. Thanks for sharing your lovely blessings
Good morning. I read some of the comments, what I wanted to say has already been said... so many beautiful subjects presented.. all of it. Willow is a lucky pup. THANK YOU
Such a beautiful vlog Linda! It is good to pause and enjoy and be thankful for the little blessings in life. Thank you for the reminder! Have a lovely weekend! 🌸🌸🌸
Lovely tour, Life's complexities , if we stop. , listen , watch , look , & breathe , nature will reveal its treasures. Simplicity in the treasures revealed are memories cherished.
Your video was so relaxing and lovely to watch! I especially enjoyed hearing the rain since I live in the Arizona desert, and rarely see rain. When we do get some, it’s never that lovely, soft rainfall. I also loved seeing all your gorgeous peonies! That’s another thing I miss having in the garden. Purchasing them never feels the same as having cut your own. Thank you so much for sharing your individual small joys, and I hope you have a lovely weekend!
Thank you so much Linda...this was a very thoughtfully done video for all of us! Like a carefully wrapped gift that you are giving to us! Thank you!!! I don't know why but it brought tears of sweetness to my eyes. This was very enjoyable and encouraging! I find joy in many things I do too... It's been a great day! ❤
It's the little things in life! I try to enjoy as many as I can. One of my favorites is hearing the rain fall on my roof. The other is sitting in the early morning with my cup of tea while it's still quiet. Thanks for sharing yours.
Another lovely video ! I was hoping that there would be a huge thunderstorm when you were filming ( safely inside ). You have the most spectacular place to watch the storms . I went to camp in VT and we would love to watch them come across the lake and the cabins would shake when it thundered , it was so much fun. Now l spend my summers in FL where we have lots of storms . My husband will make us dark and stormys and we will sit on the porch and watch the lightning shows . I also was impressed that the names on the gravestones could still be read. We have a little cemetery in front of a local church where soldiers from the Revolutionary War are buried and the names have worn off 😢. Thank you for sharing, it is always enjoyable and educational 👏🏻
I have the same white peonies with the hint of pink. I got them from my mom's house years ago and when they flower I think of her. I wish I had your forsight to take them in when they were in full bloom. They've passed now😪. Your home is an absolute dream. I wish I had your ability to style my home like you do. Just beautiful.
Thank you for sharing the beautiful nature that surrounds your home. One would never know that this is your first Spring/Summer at Sugarwood. Your yard and house look absolutely beautiful and show the love you and Ben share for it.
What a wonderful idea to voice what simple pleasures we cherish. A new type of woodpecker is visiting our peanut feeder. In all his splendor he is not even aware of his beauty. Such is mother nature's awesome moments. Thank you Linda!!!
I just love the part of the country you live in. How you are surrounded by nature and your able to take walks…. I live in Texas, and have to constantly water everything so I can have something green…and you have to be careful with deadly snakes.. So you just have to be on the alert….thank you.
Greetings, Linda. We so enjoyed this video, so inspirational. Beauty surrounds us. Especially loved the "bovine" sisters, they too are beautiful. Going to check out the gorgeous french press. Such a lovely vessel.
One of my very favorite videos! It has inspired me to get cracking with a few things I need to complete in my own garden and also to take the time to breathe it in. Time goes by so quickly now as I am older and I can't slow down or hold onto time, so I must make sure to take a little hold of it each day to just breathe it in. My home isn't as rural as yours, but there is still a peacefulness in my yard and garden when my chickens are out scratching and wandering around. I find it very soothing to have them around as I work.
Everything is just charming! I am also enjoying bringing peonies in the house ….currently I have four vases full of peonies, lilacs, mountain laurel, Rhododendron and a few irises. How lucky are we?!! Living in the Monadnock region is the best! I really love your attitude of being grateful and thankful for the wonderful things that we have in life, and I feel the same way about my house ….it’s always welcoming me and beckoning me to do just a little more decorating!
Thank you Linda for yet another lovely video. What a gentle reminder for me to count my simple joys, which are many. I teared up on how lovely your one peony opening in celebration of your anniversary. Peonies were my mom's fave, so it was so enjoyable seeing those. And a first for me seeing a pink and yellow moth?! Awesome.
Great video Linda, my sister passed away in January, I go every day to help out. There are horse farms where she lives. I enjoy see all of the horses every day. I would stop talk and pet them, would not want to be arrested. I understand your simple pleasures completely. Thank you. Huge for Willow
What a glorious home, I try and get my place to look that fancy and I found you don't even need a lot of money to do it. I'm also going to have to redecorate once I move, it's going to be an uphill battle figuring out where to put everything. Wish me luck!
Thank you for a lovely video. I enjoyed it very much. I love your forever home .Everythng it so beautiful. I too have my forever home that I enjoy very much. I just shared your video with my friends and family. You are a very kind and loving person . Wishing you all the best life has to offer.
This might be my favorite video you've done. Thank you for a beautiful and inspiring way to start my morning. My husband and I hunt for old cemeteries in western NC mountains. When I see an interesting monument, I photograph it and then come home and research the family.
I so enjoyed the whole video and especially the beautiful peonies, my favorite, thank you for sharing your walks through the cemeteries and the yard at home is lovely. How was the pie? It looked delicious.
Good Morning Susan! So enjoyed your content today. To live with "passion" is wonderful. It makes everyday a treasure and you can't wait to see it unfold. Ok Linda when you are finished with that darling summer dress, feel free to pass it along to me😃Look at the lovely peonies. Just darling. Beautiful video and message. This week a few things happened that bought me joy. For the 3rd day in a row, I've opened my door to a little chipmunk. I hadn't seen him before but there he is. I donated to Greenfield meeting house, wish I had more to give and my Sanseveria plant sprouted a brand new baby as did my pothos. I woke up everyday this week, so that pretty good☘🍀🌱🌺💕😊
The peacefulness of your video was oh so soothing. Would love to have your recipe for the rhubarb custard pie. I tried your website with no luck. Keep up your videos.

We had Peonies at our home in Billerica when I was growing up. I drove by the house last month and sadly they are gone.
Wonderful video Linda. What a sweet story about the peony opening up ☺️. The flowers and pie looked beautiful 🌸🥧. Enjoy your evening. 💚
