We were told it was angels bowling. We told our children that too. Lol
Storms in Bavaria are always very bold and impressive, grandparents told us grand kids thunder and lighten is angel's and God enjoying life, I also asked my Opa , where do freckles come from , he replied , it is very simple , you where kissed by an Angel. So I started counting all my freckles lol !!!!!

My mother told us that the Angels were bowling. Very sweet. The fountain is a charming winner. Your guests must have loved seeing Sugarwood and all that you and Ben have done. I hope that your discussions with a new kitchen contractor are going well. A huge project but very exciting. Have a nice weekend.
Linda, the last scenes were magical: the rains and thunder were across the street. Sugarwood is on THE SUUNY SIDE OF THE STREET. This carries a happy significance!!

Just lovely,,, here in Southern California we are under extreme draught water restriction , so unfortunately, the vegetable garden is at a bare minimum, soon I hope to continue growing my heirloom tomatoes, peppers so on and so on.
Great ideas for the guest rooms, definitely will steal ( borrow ) the ideas.

I am always amazed when it rains on one side of the street and not the other.
I live in the mountains with strong winds and sometimes it rains on one side of my HOUSE and not the other!!
That was a great score on the water fountain, and as to the thunder.....when you said Rip Van Winkle, my mind instantly went to a story on the "Wishbone" series of Rip Van Winkle....I used to watch it with my son when he was little as our snuggle time in the afternoons!
I love that you are so fearless and didn't hesitate to make a cutout on the carpet for the outlet! I think practicality should always be a major part of the design process and with the lamps turned on in the evening the room will be even more beautiful.
This was delightful! I love your ‘can do’ approach to things. I would have given up if the motor didn’t match the tubing but you just stayed calm and carried on 😊

Linda you are a woman of a million talents. The fountain looks lovely! I had the privilege to live in a historic house a few years ago and the rugs were also cut so the lamps could be plugged in, and people wouldn't be tripping over. Hope your family enjoyed their visit!

So many great tips. I think the rug hack is genius. You inspire me to see how beautiful my house is and how I can improve it every day. I do not like fixing things but when I do fix something I am super impressed with myself. When I watch your videos I always launch into a project i have been putting off. This house is looking really great and it give me pride to see all the tiny changes that have added up to a nice change overall.

Oh my gosh! Talk about kindred spirits! just bought the exact same fountain earlier this summer as a used item. Paid $10.00 Cad but I was thrilled and I didn’t have to replace the pump 😉😅I have mine in my kitchen! Love, love all your videos.

Linda, keep the magazine basket rack, it’s so cute and nicer than a regular basket and roomier and deeper. Smart to cut rug and if you need to in future you folded the piece down. Hope you had fun with your company. Love mj

Super easy copper cleaner is fine salt, flour and lemon juice. Or leave the verdigris patina. We do not redily find your Krud cleaner spray bottles in Johannesburg. Love the fountain for the side of your sink with a thrifted Oriental figurine close by.

Every time you do a small town visit I feel my heart tug…ergghhhh (but in a really great way). We also lived in West Roxbury, Newton, and Marshfield. Loved them all.
Mother even bought a mountain in NH once…bringing my NE experience closer to you. I was 10 I think. ‘You bought a what Mama? Why’?! No good reason. She just loved the idea. That was Mama.
Completely covered in birch. It was a jaw-dropper, if perhaps a little creepy, but only had a cabin and out-house - so a big nada for Rob.
I’m assuming you’ve been down to see them but if not you’ll have to visit Old Salem. Moravian. Those darned cookies are cookie crack! And be sure to go during market at High Pointe…but knowing you, as I think I’m getting to, bring a Semi. That stuff is basically free and talk about jaw-dropping!

LInda wanna know something - clean your copper with Ketchup, rinse with warm water- does a super job , fast easy, no chemicals! I do it with my brass and copper all the time!

That is too cute, Rip Van Winkle is bowling! 🧙♂🎳.....I was told by my parents when I was a little girl, when there was thunder the Angels were moving furniture up in Heaven. 🧚♀🗄😂I also heard from a friend, her father told her the Angels were bowling up there🧚♂🎳...🤣 Whatever the tales are, they are all so cute to tell the little children when they were scared of the loud thunder when it rains.⛈💖...Too bad I can't tell my dog about that thunder tale! 😔
